Feeling stressed re Pre-schl attendance: beginning or end of the week?

    Hi,
My son currently attends pre-schl 1 day on Fridays. Next year I'm hoping to send him to a new pre-schl. I'm happy for him to do 2 days. Question is whether to do Monday/Tuesday or Thursday/Friday...

What's worked for other mums? Do you find kids are better at one end of the week over the other? Is preparing for pre-schl on a Monday harder than on a Thurs?

Can't believe I'm feeling so stressed about this decision!...

    Hi.

I'm not sure if by pre school it is a day care environment where other children may be in there for more days than your child. So I'm basing my answer on the assumption that it may provide this service. I found that I preferred my children to be in earlier in the week, the reason being that when they were in on Thursdays and in particular Fridays, the children that were in daycare full-time were understandable more tired, cranky etc, which I felt lead to full time staff who also then felt the effects of caring for children that need a bit more time. So that was my reasoning for placing my boys in earlier in the week.

I would go thurs fri. I find that a lot of public holidays fall on a Monday so you would miss a lot of days. I also find my kids are usually really tired on a Monday from things we do on the weekend- especially if we go away. I find that by Thursday they are hanging to get out and do something! My 3 yo ds goes to kinder Wednesday and Friday and we love it.

This is purely a pre-school with 4 programs - 2 two-day programs & 2 three day programs. Mondays were normally my home/washing days and Thursdays are my local fresh food market days. I'm torn between not spending a precious pre-school day at the shops, but trying to make sure my son has good home time...
We also go away on weekends to his grandparents house at times and get back late on Sundays... So tricky!

    Oh ok then.

In that case I think I would probably go with the Thurs/Friday. As Ginger mentioned you will miss some Mondays due to the public holidays, plus you mentioned your weekends case be busy so might work better to have a few down days at home and then the couple of pre school days. Can you still do the food market on Thrusday whilst DS is at pre school?
