Thankyou girls
Last night was a bit more improved (probably as we didn't have the hourly OB's) and proceedures like the night before :D N woke at 3am screaming and upseat again, I managed to get "some" Panadol into her orally, not sure how much made it....most of it ended up on the bed
I took her in the spare bed (Queen) and we cuddled up and she eventually went to sleep snuggled in, and we got up at 7:40am - which was a lovely sleep in :D
Her nappy this morning was about 70grams for 13 hours, so pretty dry (and very dry considering she usually soaks through min of 500gram, but up to 700 when leaking). So it was pretty clear that all of the fluids she had in hospital were just absobed back into her body. I popped her on the scales and she has lost 800grams which is what her weight was before we took her in for the fluids. But we know that the loss is mostly fluids and the fact that she has hardly eaten for 5 days. So she should gain it back reasonably quickly
But a little celebration this morning she drank milk without Panadol first!!! :leap: She had 80ml, which isn't a lot, but it is a great start, she also ate some peach, a milk arrowroot and a few teaspoons of yogurt. So a marked improvement.
She now has a rash over most of her body, I rang up health direct and it is the ending of a viral infection, and it will stay around for up to 3 days. So little Miss is still miserable and a bit itchy, I will go off the the chemist again (I should buy shares in them ) and get some hydrocoartizone and and antihistamene (sp?), which should make her feel better.
We have had to cancel the photography session tomorrow and we have rebooked for March, which was the earliest day we could get in :o so now to make sure that she doesn't get sick again! Also she missed out on another prem friends birthday party today :( and we won't be going to a birthday BBQ tomorrow, and MIL isn't coming by today as we can't expose her to anyone while she has the rash.
She has just woken up from a morning sleep and she wanted another peach, so she is sitting in her high chair picking it appart, and nibbling on a little bit of it, most of it is just mushed on the tray, she might make another tower like she did this morning, she LOVES cheese and had a bit, then broke it all up, created a tower and placed all the peach pieces on top. At least she is occassionally having a sip of water. I would really like her to get some more fluids in, but she wasn't interested in the milk this time, but we will keep at it, she seems to drink a little more if we just leave her to it.
Her nappy was dry with a loose stool, which maybe just because she has really only had some milk, so no solid foods.
Hopefully I can report back later tonight wilth news she is drinking a lot more and we have some wet nappies, I really don't want her to have to go through it all again :(

Glad things are getting better.
DD2 spent 5 days in with the NGT as after an hour & a half the drip wouldn't go in & she was choking & bringing up panadol. She had tonsillitis & glandular fever, so had a really sore throat too. Its so hard to get them to drink. It took 4 of them to hold her down just to look in her throat. She's still scared of it.
DS also spent 2 days in with a viral infection. Same thing. Completely clueless til the rash at the end when we were on our way home.
 Hope nothing else happens for a while :)

Big hugs to you and your family sweets, just saw this thread
Oh, the dreaded hospital visits.........Sounds like she might be on the mend though so fingers crossed it is manageable at home now??
You have both done an AMAZING job with her, it's so hard not to get really frustrated when you KNOW all she has to do is drink and she will feel better !!!??!?!? Being tired and overwrought doesn't help either..... big, big hugs to you both

Thanks Pixie  onwards and upwards :D
BJ I hope so too, I have already told DD that she has to stay well this year, and no more hospital visits or stays :)
Thanks Sal, yeah it is all good at home now, we had out first wet nappy this morning and she ate dinner tonight which was the first time in 6 days :o, she has a rash all over her body still, but hopefully it is clear in the next day or so.
In reality we probably should have stayed another night, as it was pretty horrible Friday night, but we got there in the end :D
She was toddling around the house today and qas quite chirpy and ate solids :leap: I am soo looking forward to the solid poos and not the runny one's ont he cloth nappies
DH and I were saying when they get well you really realise how sick they were as they get better, and brighten up.
Thankyou all for your lovely messages and support over the past week we really appreciate it all :grouphug:
