I'm so worried, my heart is racing a million miles an hour. Leon has vommited 4 times today, he's lethargic and pale, hasn't done a poo since yesterday (which is unlike him) and his nappies have hardly been wet He doesn't have a temperature but I've been told several times that often babies don't get one when they're sick anyway. I called the MCHN hotline and she said to get him checked, it could be gastro, so I've called the locum doctor to come out and see us. They said they'd call when they were on their way here so who knows how long that will be. My mum who I live with, had gastro a few days ago, so I'm pretty certain that's what it is. What's likely to happen with gastro? What else could it be?
He is feeding okay I suppose, well I can't say he's refusing, but because he's been vomitting I'd assume it's all just coming up and he's not digesting it?? I will just keep offering him. Is it possible to overfeed and therefore make vomitting more likely?
Lulu, yeah I know I could be waiting for ages and then $180 short on top of that. I'm tempted to take him to emergency, I just don't know if it's urgent enough I know I know, better to be safe than sorry.
Also, stupid question...but do you think this is a satisfactory reason for DP to take work off tomorrow? He starts at 4am and he's the only one who can take me to the hospital if I need to go.
DS is also really cold, like his skin is cold He's sneezing a bit too.
Holly, definitely urgent enough. With a dehydrated lethargic baby who wasn't keeping fluids down, I'd go to the hospital now.

Dehydration is the concern with gastro I think. And because you've done the right thing getting onto the dr, I'm sure they'll be able to get on top of it.
Big big hugs to you. I would just try and keep him on the breast, hopefully he'll feed, and hopefully the dr arrives soon!
ETA: perhaps a few syringes of water or EBM straight into his mouth might work if he's too lethargic to feed?
