Exclamation blisters on his genitals? arrgh..!

hey everyone, am new to this, so bear with me, have never posted a thread before

my little guy is 11 months old and yesterday i noticed some blisters in the nappy area - maily above his genitals - weird i thort, but they don't seem to bother him. but this morning there seem to be a few more, and a couple on his penis - shame! still don't seem to bother him...is this just nappy rash, or do i see a dr..? i use cloth on him, have been putting bepanthem on at the mo.. any ideas, or similar happenings mums?

I really don't know. I would be taking him to the Dr to get an opinion. Good luck!

Virtually the same thing happened to my DS a month or so ago - no blisters on his penis, but close to it. DS doesn't get nappy rash and his nappy is changed regularly. They didn't seem to worry him, but looked a bit red.

I put it down to heat, as the two occasions he's had these blisters it's been very hot. Both times he got 2-3 blisters over a couple of days.

My solution was to bath him daily and put Curash powder in his nappy region each nappy change. It seemed to dry up the existing blisters quickly and must have prevented more because once I started using it he didn't get any more.

My opinion only, but maybe try this before going to the dr, particularly if your DS isn't too worried by them.

i think you should take him to the dr.
my ds had something similar a few weeks back in the area above his genitals, not actually on them. we took him to the dr who prescribed antibiotics and daktarin nappy rash cream and it cleared up in a few days.

My DS gets a blistering to the nappy area when he is teething (not the genitals though). I use sudocream which heals it really well.

My DS had the same symptoms when he was that age...took him to the GP and she gave me some Hydrozol which did zero, as they worsened I took him to the hospital and it turned out to be Impetigo and had to have AB's to clear it up.

went to the dr - said it is a little infection of nappy rash and got some bactroban for it - hopefully that clears it up - already better than it was this morning after having some nappy off time
    thanx for all the feedback!

Your poor lil man! Its so hard not to worry hey!

My DS ahd blisters come out mainly on his bottom and I put it down to nappy rash, they looked so painfull but he wasnt fazed!
Moogoo is the best cream i have ever used on him! It cleared the blisters overnight.

Hope he enjoys all the nappy off time
