Seriously. I tried everything. I tried medications, was sent to a pead and tried soy formula (as it was thought to have been a lactose intllerence), I've tried all the prune pear etc juices mixes that anyone ever suggested and the ONLY thing that worked was vaalia yoghurt.

    Def give it a whirl!

    aww
hun that is not an answer- just a quick fix- grrr definately see a pead next time or a GP that is referred from a friend who will look into it more- all the laxatives will do are to get rid of what is there- they wont fix the problem!

just be careful- now that her bowel has been stretched out of shape- it will easily fill again and become constipated. Something like parachoc is good- you give it to them until you get action, and then it keep it going so that nothing has a chance to stick and build- The idea is to get the overstretched bowel to settle down to its proper size again- otherwise she will be trying to pass things that will be too big for her to pass- and have to start all over again!!! Parachoc is just choc flavoured parafin- so natural- just cant lay them down for a set period of time after it is given- i think its around 2 hours, as they you dont want them to aspirate parafin into their lungs!

Once her bowel has settled then something like benfibre once a day, should keep things moving- she would only need like 1 teaspoon of it a day- its odourless and tasteless- so no biggie! The benefibre will ensure that her stools are bulky and pass without getting hard again!

HTH and from one mummy with a child that is constantly contipated to another- good luck and happy motions lol

Lea...another thing you can try and is known to work...is cammomile tea...

been there with Jack hun...and him screaming trying to get a poo out...me helping get poos out...and i am positive they were as hard as concrete....

that is one reason Jack is now on Goats formula..it is alot easier/ soothing on their bellies
