Hi there!
DS (2) has eczema. It's mainly on his face, but can come up in very very small patches on his torso and calves. He has never had any on the insides of his elbows, knees or any other areas of creasing on his body.
He's had it from around 6 months of age, but never on his face until the last 6-12 months. It seems to be gradually getting worse. I know with winter, the dryness of the air due to having the fire/heaters going doesn't help, but there's not alot I can do about that.
He doesn't bathe every day, and when he does, it's with plain water or we sometimes add some moogoo in it. We have used Alpha Kerri lotions and oils in the past, but nothing seems to have that much of an effect on it.
It's quite red at times, it doesn't seem to worry him at all, and I've never seen him scratching it. It looks horrible and I really feel bad for my little man. We have recently been using moogoo eczema and psoriasis cream, but I'm still waiting to see any results. I am applying it several times a day.
Dust could be a huge problem, but due to where we live, that's something we cannot control.
I'm changing his bedclothes often and trying to do what I can. It's very hard to keep anything wet off his face ( I think it seems worse after a bath/liquid coming into contact with his face).
What else can I do? Should I see someone about it?
Neither DH nor I had eczema as kids, so this his kind of come from nowhere. It is worse now at this age than it has ever been before. I've been told that most kids grow out of infantile eczema, but at what age?
This post is a bit everywhere but I am wondering if anyone has any advice or ideas for me?
TIA
