    Glue ear

Are there anyways to clear glue ear up without antibiotics?
DD had grommits put in at 5 & we were great for the next 18 months or so. She had the odd problem after they came out, but we are back to square one.
Her hearing has steadily been getting worse over the last 4 weeks, with her having extra trouble the last week. I didn't even notice the first 2 weeks.
I've only ever been offered abs before, but that was during an infection. The infection has gone now, but the fluid is still there. Can I clear it somehow without abs?
I'm thinking we should look at another set of grommits...
    TIA

when DD2 had glue ear in January, our Dr told us to give her dimetapp or demazin plus panadol for 2 weeks to dry it up (just at night)
IMO if shes having issues with her hearing then she may need grommets again i feel your pain

ETA DD2 had an ear infection 3 weeks ago and had glue ear following that, the ENT we saw on tuesday said its normal after an infection to have the fluid, but like i said id say she needs to be seen again by your ENT

Yeah, I think so. Its been going on for a bit too long. I haven't worried about it til now coz last time it took 15 months & 2 waiting lists before we had it done & her hearing was bad that whole time. She was just 3 when we first picked up on it, 5.5 when it was finally done!
But we live in a different area now, maybe it won't be so bad. Best ring the gp soon then. Will try panadol til then though. Thanks
