Second night running poor DS has had hives all over his body but particularly bad on the back of his head/neck. I've rung the pharmacy and they said everything is for 1yo plus. I'm going to take him to the doctor this week... I don't think I need to rush him anywhere right now as he's "ok"... as long as we're not trying to get him to sleep .
Poor little fellow still isn't happy though. I'm thinking it might be due to sweet potato? He's also an ezcema sufferer, so might start testing some foods...
So question 1 - ever heard of an antihistamine safe for under 1's?
Question 2 - possible food causes? in the last 3 days he's had sweet potato (both days - is the only common food), apple, oatmeal, pear, banana, avocado and a teensy teensy bit of wheat rusk (anotherpossible cause but dunno why it would be so delayed...).
I would imagine the Dr will tell you to use the antihistimines labelled for over 1, but at a dosage appropriate for his weight. It'll be ok if it's with a Dr's instructions.
I would see a GP. As well as treating this outbreak, you will need to find out what has caused this allergic reaction. Have you introduced any new foods in the last couple of days?
