Unhappy I think a nappy wipe caused this??

Two days ago, DD had food and dried who knows what on her face. We were in the car and about to go out so I quickly grabbed a huggies baby wipe out of my bag and wiped her face (my bad) but a tissue wouldnt cut it as it was all dried on.

I feel terrible now as DD has come up with a pimple like rash all around her mouth and on her nose and the side of the nose so I think the nappy wipe irrited her skin. I can not tell you how terrible I feel. It is all red and kind of looks liek a nappy rash.

The wipe is the only thing I can put it down to what caused it. What should I put n her skin (if anything) to help clear it up? Sorbolene? Bepanthen? Just water? Nothing?

She has also got two scratched on her nose now (that were bleeding) that she did with her finger nails (that she wont let me cut) and a bruise on her forehead from daycare and the poor thing looks like she has been in the wars.

Any advice or similar stories would be great. Also if anyone knows how ling it would take to clear up.

    TIA

I always use wipes to wipe the kids faces
Some brands react worse than others though.
I usually let the rash heal up by itself.
Poor little poppet does sound like she has been in the wars though

Thanks hun. If we are at home I use a warm facewasher but yeah she reacted really badly to the wipe.

The same thing happened to me. I only brushed her face with the wipe (was doing a peek a boo) and she came up with a pimple type rash near her eyebrow. It only lasted a few hours. Makes me wonder about using them on her skin at all. I use cloth wipes at home with water and think i might get organised for when we go out too.

Surely if you can use them on her bot you can use them on her face? I use disposable wipes when out and about with my son to clean his face and hands and we never have this problem. I use the Nature Baby ones so maybe that would help? We use cloth wipes at home. I'd be concerned about using them on her bot if they did that to her face

I use the huggies unscented and have had to use them on the face when out with no problems
