Inguinal Hernia Surgery (male)

My DS is due to have corrective surgery for his inguinal hernia. We have waited so long for this to come about and now he is sick. He has a head cold with green boogers and a gross sounding cough. Apart from that he is otherwise well. I am trying to get him better as much as I can and as quickly as possible, but if we can't get rid of this cold, will they cancel us?

Not sure to answer your question, but if they do decide to postpone, would it just mean that you're at the top of the waiting list still, until he's all better?
Hopefully he'll clear the cold and the surgery can go ahead sooner rather than later

I would suggest they would go ahead wither the surgery provided he doesn't have a temp. they may be little hesitant if he is a smoker though....
is it possible for you to call the inpatient unit and enquire?
