Lots of large pussy pimples on DDs head

Hi Guys

This is weird, DD has alot of pimples on her head for the last few days. They are very pussy. Does anyone know what it is??!!

Will be seeing doc tomorrow but i have not seen large pussy pimples on a child ever.

DD is 2.5yrs

Does chicken pox show on the scalp first? Maybe that is a wives tale but thats something someone told me just the other day. I hope its not that though. Good luck

My first thought was chicken pox too, although if it's been a few days I would have thought you'd see them elsewhere by now....

Have you changed soap/ shampoo? If I use certain shampoos even once that I react with, I get blister pimples/pustules on my scalp. Could that be the cause? Also maybe look at an old bottle and make sure they haven't changed anything in it.

Chicken pox *normally* presents on the torso first. I have heard of it starting in other places first though. I agree that you should have spots in other places if it's been a few days.

I've never heard of this either, I'm curious to know what's causing it, hopefully it's something minor and easy fixed. hope she's better soon.

I had a virus earlier this year where I got spots like that on my head. Might also just be a virus of some kind. I hope the doctor can give you some answers tomorrow and that they aren't hurting your DD too much.

My DD8 & DS5 get them from using some brands of shampoo/conditioner.
J&J is the usual cilprit. But now DD is older perfumey 'adult' shampoo/conditioner does it.

I have changd her shampoo but we went to the pools last week. No lumps anywhere else

They might have an idea.

HI guys
just an update. Doc suspect it is bird lice and she got allergic to it hence all the puss coming out.

We are on antibiotics and bactroban.
