Ok, freaking out, someone calm me down before I rush off to the hospital in a manical state.

My SIL informs us yesterday that her DD, possibley two of her DDs, have the measles. They are at the rashy stage. Apparently its going around the school.

So I wasn't worried, thinking ok haven't seen them in ages, we went round to their house last week but the girls were at school.

Ok so does anyone know the likelyhood of Jazz getting the measles? Apparently the if my neice coughed on something the infectious bit (forgive me, I'm tried lol) stays alive for 2 hours afterwards? What if Jazz came in contact with that? I've been immunised, and I'm breastfeeding does that mean Jazz is covered?

Can someone tell me what measles actually is? Is it like chicken pox? Or worse?

Last week she had a little rash and cough and her eyes were all red and funny and I thought it was hayfever or something, it wouldn't be anything to do with measles would it?

Should I go get a test done just in case? What do they do? Is it a swab or blood test?
