Mitral valve abnormalities run in my DHs family.
One of our nephews was born with his heart on the wrong side- he is now 20 years old.
I know how hard it is having to watch your own baby from behind the glass too.
Don't be afraid to talk to him & hold his hand to help sooth him.
Fingers crossed he grows stronger every day!

Glenny finds it hard to watch him when he cries and she can't just pick him up and cuddle him. As I'm sure all us mummas can imagine is a living hell.

Update from Glenny
Spoke to the surgeon today. He has cleared Charlie to be extubated and he had it taken out about half 12. He had high flow nasal prongs but was struggling so now is on cpap mask overnight. The surgeon said it is hour by hour now. But Charlie is doing well so far. :-)
Poor baby boy. Hang in there little Charlie and fight hard. Thinking of you Glenny

Tegam, is there anything practical the Brisbane girls can do to help? Cooking meals? Washing and drying a few loads of clothing? Helping with transport to hospital and back?
If you think of anything please ask.
I'll keep him in my thoughts. Just get through the night wee man, we can worry about tomorrow then.

UPDATE: From Glenny
He gave us and his nurses a couple of scares last night but he's still fighting AND he's still extubated!!! Such a strong little boy!!!!
Glenny is hoping for a cuddle today :)
