Which formula is he on? I wouldn't panic. Some babies don't poo for a few days. Is he weeing a lot - are you getting wet nappies.

I had a different problem, my baby didn't poo, but that was because I'd had a lot of medical problems, my milk came in very late, it was keeping him hydrated but not fed.

Try gentle bicycle motion with his legs while he is lying down, rub his tummy (clockwise), chamomile tea in his bath water.

Also ask your gp and chn for advice.
The SA child and youth health website is really good. If I remember when I'm not on iPhone I will post a link but if you google cyh constipation that should bring back a result

what pandora said. My DS had the same problem. Does your bub 'burp' well?? My DS had trouble with wind, instead of it coming up, it went through him which seemed to cause problems with him not only passing the wind but also his bowel movements (my DS is breast fed). Wind drops helped, but really the problem just got better as his body matured & he started working it through on his own..... kicking his legs & squirming etc.

Do you have breastmilk still? That would help get his bowels moving.

    Aw you poor thing.

My DS had some issues with pooing when we put him on a thicker formula for his reflux. A few things helped him. Doing the little 'bicycle legs' thing with him lying on his back, a little bit of sugar in some water, or even just in his bottle. Also a warm bath/shower with me helped him in the meantime, until he managed to poo.

I think you're doing all the right things. As long as you're getting plenty of wet nappies, you can be reasonably relaxed. A chat to your GP might help ease your mind, just so you can have him checked out and maybe get some advice on how to help soften his poos.
