Hi,

I am wondering if any of you mums out there have heard of, or had a child with, Slapped Cheek or Fifth Disease?

My daughter (nearly 4) had a smallish rash on her left cheek the last couple of days, but today when she got up from a nap (she has NOT had an afternoon nap since she was about 18months old!) she was soooooooooooo irritable and her face was covered in spots! up behind her ears, on her neck and down her arms!

So took her off to the drs (one at a medical centre as we have just moved and haven't found a family dr yet :| ) and he was like *yeah, looks like slapped cheek*
I stared at him like WTF? and he explained that it was in the family of chickenpox etc .

Well, I am 30 weeks pregnant so I asked him if I need to worry and he just replies with *any viral infection can harm an unborn baby*.

(yep, will NOT being going back to this moron)

But my question is, I have googled and some sites say theres not much to worry about when this far along in pregnancy, where others say call yr Dr so they can take bloods to check if I have it!

My question is, *has anyone here had a child with Slapped Cheek while pregnant*? and if so, what did you do?
