Hi all,
DH & I are having a difference of opinions at the moment as to whether to get DS1 reviewed by a GP or not.
He is 2 1/2yrs and is normally an extremely active little boy who we couldn't get to sit still for the life of me. Over the last week or two he has become whingey ALL the time, just wanting to be cuddled ALL the time, tired and wanting to have sleeps and falling asleep by 7pm each night (before he was active all day and went to bed at 7.30pm with no day sleep), he is paler than normal, he isn't eating as much and just generally off most of the day.
We have had a new additon (born mid dec) so not sure if that is something to do with it too.
I'm not sure what a review would do? I don't think there is anything medically wrong with him so i'm hesitant to take him to the dr.
What do you think? I know it's hard without seeing him but just after a general consesus and opinions.
I would take him to the GP. He sounds like my little boy if he was wanting to be cuddled and not running around much I'd think he was coming down with something. He may be just adjusting to the new addition but can't hurt to have him looked at.
Sounds just like my DD who is the same age (I posted a couple of days ago about the same type of issues).
I was concerned something might have been wrong but she has perked up abit now but is still not eating very well, so I've put it down to a growth spurt her need to sleep and lack of energy at the moment. My concern that she may have had a UTI as she did have a bit of a fever the other day, but a dose of panadol brought that down and she hasn't had a fever or any other symptoms of illness.
I'd take him to a GP, but I'm always over cautious. Tired and pale would probably be a trigger for me to get him checked out. It maybe nothing but peace of mind would help me. I always say 'no one regrets going to the doctor, but people sometimes regret not going'. Anyhow, that just my philosophy on getting medical opinions.
