Both my girls are sick, started Sunday night with low temps for DD2, DD1 started with high temps yesterday, I was assuming they had a virus but it's now day 4 for DD2 and day 2 dor DD1 and they keep spiking high temps, I can't get into dr til tomorrow arvo, what do I do, ride it out or take them to ER?
4 days is a long time to have high temps for but I have heard several different people who have had the flu this year say the high temps have lasted 5 days or more. If it were me, unless she gets worse tonight, I"d wait until the dr appt tomorrow.
How high is high babe?? Are they themselves or really flat and lethargic? I always remember someone on here saying treat the child not the temp and have remembered that when mine are running a high temp but are happy as and sometimes a low grade fever but excessively lethargic means a trip to the dr.
If they seem ok it might just be that they are battling a virus and it's taking a few days for them to get over it and there won't be anything they can do anyway other than make sure they are drinking enough fluids etc.
Nurse on Call are great too hun, also not sure if you want to wait at Maroondah and it's a bit further away but we have used the After Hours clinic near Box Hill hospital a few times. You get in to see someone straight away and claim back on Medicare - I think it's $90 up front. Also Seymour St clinic in Ringwood is open til 7:30
Snap - posted with yours, let us know how you go babe oxoxo
Just got back from netball and wanted to check in on you - hope they settle a bit overnight hun This stupid weather is awful for all these virus bugs. Fingers crossed you all get a good rest and the fevers settle down. xoxo
