Has anyone had experience with this?
From what I have read online, its usually no obvious symptoms - but then how do people get it diagnosed?
I forgot to mention it to the DR and ask if she thought this was a possibilty
So, I was wondering if anyone whos baby had this, what were the signs?
He is half a year old. He has been an unsettled baby since the start. We have been told its gastric reflux, but my inlaws visited and said his behaviour reminded them of their baby that behaved same way and had urinary reflux.
He arches his back alot and cries when put on his back. He has good wet nappies now, but until we started giving him water when he started solids, he did not have very wet nappies (even though he fed frequently).

maybe get a renal ultrasound done first as the MCU (test to see for reflux) is invasive and involves a catheter being inserted and die put into the babies bladder then wait for them to wee it out and see if any remains or has gone up the urinary tract and into teh kidneys
sorry just thought, what are his bowel motions like?
could it eb constipation or irregular bowels or hernia.
my dd was unsettled for a few months due to an umbilical hernia which has fixed its self but she had lots of issues with it we had to massage her belly for her to do a poo without pain
Archie was diagnosed with Urinary reflux at 3 weeks old. It was discovered by accident. He had an operation for something else and during an u/s it was discovered that he had grade 3 Urinary Reflux. Archie was on profalactic anitbiotics for 12 months. Arch never ever had a Urinary tract infection. He had to have u/s every 6 months to keep check on it, each u/s showed that things were improving. His last u/s was at 18 months old, I was supposed to go back when he turned 2 but have never been back. I kept forgetting and he has never had an issue so i assume he has grown out of it. I didnt realise that urinary reflux could cause pain other than if tey contract an infection?
