Jumping Castles seem to be a big thing for kids parties at the moment. The 2 that I have been to recently had games as well. They had pass the parcel, musical statues and eating donuts off the clotheslines, those types of games.
We had one at my DD party this year ( and last year) and the kids loved it.... The only game we played was pass the parcel
I definitely think it was worth the $$$$
We borrowed one from DPs cousin for both As 1st & 2nd birthday and the kids love it, we didn't do other games but we did have the bikes, pencils etc all out.
Older kids love them too
Sent from my iPhone, more than likely while I should be doing something else!
We usually have quite a few kids at DS' party. I wouldn't know how to keep them occupied without one! It certainly keeps them happy. The only consideration is wet weather and if you lose your deposit if it down pours. It happened to us this year and we went ahead, luckily it cleared up and the kids could use it even if it was a little cold. I still did party games like pass the parcel and musical statues but that was all we needed as we then cut the cake and had food. Have a great party
The party we went to last week had one - it was a 4 year old and a 7? year old combined. They took turns with the big and little kids and they also did games. If you're just doing it for E, I would think that would be enough and not worry about extra games, maybe some playdough or just some other outside toys if they got bored.
We hired a huge one for DD1's 4th birthday party and it was well worth every cent $200 for 4 hours, + $100 for an attendant to supervise (as we held it in a public park so that was legally required), we didn't organise any other games or entertainment and I'm glad because we really didn't need it - the kids just jumped the whole time they were at the party, taking quick breaks for food, drinks, cake and presents The company we went through was fantastic with their policies, eg if the weather is bad enough to have to cancel, you don't lose a cent, and we thought the price was very reasonable for what we got. I'd definitely recommend it to anybody, all the parents who attended were impressed at how good the price was and loved that all the kids had such a blast - it really eased the stress on us because we didn't have to juggle the demands of 10 kids, they just went nuts on the castle with a supervisor keeping an eye on things and we could hang out and relax
