Oooh - I know what else I was going to ask....

Does anyone crochet wool covers? I'm a hopeless knitter, but can crochet ok. Does anyone have crochet patterns?? Where would i get these from? I've got some awesome hand-dyed organic wool that I'd love to make into longies & shorties!

    Any help would be appreciated!

BTW - am currently shopping online...

Toni - I think there are crochet threads and patterns on nappycino...Gigi will prolly be able to tell you exactly where...but have a look there is a section about sewing adn making your own gear

Gigi - They only went through cold, so I am suprised at the shrinkage, but they are certainly well adn truly stuffed!! Ill have a look around tomorrow - Fuller's Earth is it at the chemist? *fingers crossed my backwater town in my backwater state sell such a thing!! lol*

Maz - Thanks hun! And I'll take moo cow cover when you get you minky Been looking for a moo cow cover for AAAGES!

WOHB: Sandmans and meriono soaker...Soaker is a little loose around the waist so hoping for the best!! lol

Ohm speaking of which - how do you girls get PJ pants over a night nappy with a saoker?? She is in her babylegs and socks atm cos I dont have any PJs with big enough bum space

PP - I was going to ask how she went overnight. Nina is a huge wetter, day and night. We were using sposies on her overnight for a while there as she was doing explosive poos in the mornings. But they've stopped now, and I've gone back to cloth. On her, we use BBB, 2 short boosters, long booster folded in half & a large wool cover. Nina has wide hips and is tall, but the large wool cover fits over her nappy ok. Hopefully you can find a solution to your problem, or try a different cover. I know a few people up my way prefer to use fleece covers at night rather than wool, so you could give that a go?

limeslice - Nina is usually a size 2 in pants, but her pyjamis are a size 3 to fit over her big butt.

nettie - yay on fluffy mail!

Can someone tell me where I can get a good cover for Nina (fleece preferably) while I'm patiently waiting for Maz to restock

still waiting jodi... for her to wake.

it sucks because you spend all this $$ on items and they dont fit.! but yes the BBH wool cover in L definately doesnt go over the nappy.
i have 2 brand new - never washed in hot water.. that is just the sizze they are.
Melham said she has a natural colour BBH wool and it is bigger than the L green's i have.... strange.

Looking at some longies from NN... and then maybe buy a shortie in the summer?

That's weird, maybe it's a dudd?! I was surprised the BBH large wool cover fits Nina consider her hips are wide. Even Maz's covers only just fit. I really need an XL cover with Nina.

tots bots, is that what you suggested for a cover maz, the size 2?

it fits her waist fine but it doesnt cover high enough if that makes sense

Jodi just wait it out. Maz should be getting a wriggle on soon enough

Netti I don't crochet but reccon will give it a bash soon. There is a pattern called ladybug which I'm not sure if it's free or you have to pay for (shouldn't be too much if you have to pay for it). I'll try to find some for you as I belong to a few knitting forums

PP if they are smaller than the non coloured cover I'd definatley be complaining. You will find them very good when you contact them about stuff like that.

Speaking of knitting I'm very proud of myself for making the encased elastic waistband for the Shanons longies pattern lastnight. Took me freaking ages but woohoo for me! I also saw a different way of doing short rows while I was browsing around so I'll give that a go and share how I went. I hope it's easier than the wrap and turn method

WOHB don't know as DH put him to bed as he's still snoozing!

I went to DDU and Nn and all the large longie are out of stock...
    it just isnt my week!!

    - there is aa 18month LJ longies at NN... it says 10-13kg. DD is 9kg... will it be too big? its the only size i can get

And UPDATE - yep soaked again this morning!

Still here, still no baby... no leaks last night - I love my Snoozywuns, and with the longies it was brilliant...

However... had his new BB (Bamboo) on with a Swaddlebees PUL cover at the hospital this morning (monitoring) and he leaked. So DH changed it, and about an hour later - leaked through another one!!!!! Arghhh this kid can pee!!!! He did have a lot of liquid this morning so no wonder...

PP I hate to ask this if you have already covered it, but you seem to be leaking no matter what system you are using at night time....you had the layers and BBH on last night didnt you?
Have you checked for leg gape? Or tummy gape? She is tummy sleeper isnt she? I found that trying to boost Charlotte's nappies to the extreme mean that I would get either leg gape where the shell wasnt big enough to hide the height of the layers in the crothch iykwim, or that the front across her tummy would leave a gape between the nappy and her tummy due to the bulk...
    Just a thought

QM - have you taken something we should know about? ;P lol

Sammi - good work on the waistband!!

FJ - did you lost package ever turn up?

PP - DD's longies are quite huge....but they have a drawstring, and she has almost grown into them in the space of 3 weeks anyhow They will always get bigger!

Well, feeling good about the nappy washing today - we have had 2 days of nearly-roll-off-poo!! YAY!! Sooo much easier to wash them when they aren't putrid! lol

MORE important than the kilos, is the RISE of your baby e.g THE RISE OVER HER NIGHT NAPPY
that's the most important thing to know, when buying woollen soakers, shorties, longies, or fleece longies which are called FLONGIES or fleece covers as well.

    LIMEY
    we don't use pj pants
bilby wears longies over a fitted night nappy
if wearing a night AIO or night pocket, she wears babylegs and socks
all this is under a LOOSE all cotton sleeping bag

i don't know for sure, but i have reservations about whether our system would still be leakproof.dry in a polar fleece sleeping bag. Fleece doesn't air so well, that's why i use the natural fibres sleeping bag.

sometimes people who use onesies or pj pants OVER the top of the night nappy combo, get compression leaks - not everyone, but enough that it's worth mentioning

    PINK PALACE
make sure you know your bub's NIGHT RISE before ordering anything

did you look up the green mountain diapers site? i don't buy from there, just use their fantastic photos of bubs in MCN to help me decide stuff

Don't worry about reading for hours then a quick post - that will change! and it's what i did at teh start (so watch out LOL),. no i'm sure you won't turn out as bad as i have

queen - got your email - SAME address as i've been getting the bounces from - WEIRD

NESSA - How is Milliana today???
