FJ - thanks they are the kozi ones i was looking at. Might try for the lamajama... or what ever they are!

Gigi- i have honestly not read half of those responses! lol have now. NOt sure it is my lack of concentration or the forum moves a littel too fast sometimes that i dont remember how far to read back if i dont check for a day. So please dont take offense - just think i am a little dense if i ask the same question twice im sorry i do this

I am trying the BBB again tonight (i have been experimenting like you say to find what works). I am having a trifold inside under the short and double long snap in bamboo boosters and going to do them tighter to try and reduce waist gape. Then see if perhaps a little less bulk might make the BB wool cover fit better in the rise... i can only try.
My theory behind using less bulk (although it probably sounds backwards) was that we had a busy day today and i put a standard bbb + pul cover on her at 1230 and with all the driving around and hospital visits i didnt get her home (where she was asleep in the car) for hours and she slept in this... until 530pm. So 5 hours and no leaks.... BBB was soaked but no leaks....

The wool covers (large) were BRAND NEW . SO it isnt an issue of shrinkage.

I measured her and she has a 19inch rise with the boosting as above with the BB wool on. So i will use that to look for longies and shorties.

I will back off a little on the questions, i am sorry but i do get a little confused and frustrated waiting for that lightbulb moment.

    xxoo

Nessa, Get me on MSN for sure, I also have a Pfaff hobby lock also, might be a differnt model number though as I only got it earlier this year.

I just gave all of my prefolds a wash. I did some adjustments to them as I made them too big for a NB I think. So Now I have 30x30 & then some 40x30 for later on.

Im also making some NB nappies with applix closure. I made 2 with a rainbow pring (different to the one you got GiGi) & DH thinks its too gay LMAO!

I feel like such an idiot.. commented about DS's longies being too short in the legs so I had to use socks.. uh.. looked up the legs.. they had hemmed about 10 cms up inside the leg..
    PMSL...
Uh... lets just say that I took the hemming out and NOW they go all the way to his feet.. pmsl...

Christ.. I need this baby out before I turn out with absolutely no friggin intelligence.. lol

    WOHB: A delicious chocolate IB
Oh, i am so tired, i read that as if you were EATING a delicious chocolate LOL!!!

how many days are you "over" now Mel?

I now leave the night longies "too long" on purpose (i used to hem them all up) cos i figure, the extra length just keeps bilby's feet warmer.

i use her biggest, longest longies for night (to totally cover the bulkier night nappies) and use the smaller, shorter in the leg longies for the day (over the less bulky day fitteds).

NESSA - i use a very old overlocker from the 1960's!!!! I am such a dunce, my technically minded dh reads the manual and does the threading for me - it is beyond me - otherwise i'd help you out in a heartbeat! My best MCN sewing has been done when i had access to BOTH a sewing machine and an overlocker SIMULUTANEOUSLY.

I think it is possible to do it all (well, get it done) with only a sewing machine, but for some bits, you don't get the neat finishing off you get with the overlocker. If you sew inside out (turn and topstitch i think is the Sewing Jargon for that), i suppose it doesn't really matter, cos no-one will see when you're done. but being a obsessive compulsive type person, things like that bug me. Prolly has lots to do with me being a wonky cutter outerer, i love how the overlocker neatens up my wonky cutting out!!

the WHY WOOL link on the Nappycino site covers these topics:

Why do people see wool as a wonder fibre when it comes to cloth nappying?
So how does it work as a cover?
    So what is lanolin?
What kind of wool works best?
    Night time
    Recommendations for night time wool
So how hard is to care for wool?
    Where do I start?

    Really helpful article to read.

PP i am sure the coloured wool covers are smaller or my natural one that was secondhand has to have been stretched, reason being my new blue wool cover doesnt cover the top of the nappy but my natural one more than covers it, I am going to order another natural one just to see if there is a size difference.

Cooper is really sick today and am just deciding whether to take him up to the hospital, he has a really bad cough, runny nose and getting fevers that are giving him the shakes, he had nurofen about 7 and that hasnt worked so have just given him panadol, will give another hour and see how he goes, he is still drinking and having wet nappies though.

    WOHB.....bbh and wool cover

Sorry to hear the little man isnt well!! No good Take him in to the hospital, if he is having trouble breathing (or you say he is) they will see you straight away so you wont have to wait for hours....at least then you can rest assured either way hope is better soon

    Poor Cooper
If you cant cool him down, and keep the nurofen and panadol up to stop the high temp (and shakes), then i would get him seen. Try cool clothing and tepid washers .
I hope he gets better... perhaps that Spew yesterday was the start of something

Its ok. I have read that you can use conditioner (like your hair conditioner) to soak wol covers in and then stretch them.... i might give this a go if tonight's practice run doesnt work.

I have also orderd a llamajama longies from DDU. so hoping they might help. I talked DH into it after my hormonal preggy soak the other night

    WOHB - BBB +Wool cover

    p.s thanks Limeslice :hugs:

Mel - that sounds like what Aricyn was doing before they diagnosed him with pneumonia. I'd take him to the hospy just to be on the safe side..

If your wool has shrunk from over agitation or a temperature shock, what you will need is a big bottle of conditioner (get the cheap stuff, you don't need anything fancy). Fill your sink with lukewarm water and add half of the conditioner & your wool. Gently stretch the wool back to the right size/shape. Add more conditioner if needed. Once you are satisfied its back to its normal size, hand-wash the wool with your usual wool wash. You will need to also do an extra rinse using vinegar (about 1 tablespoon) to help remove any remaining conditioner that could interfere with the performance of your wool.

Mel - GP confirmed it with chest x-ray, doubled one dose of antibiotics and had him on another one, plus panadol and nurofen.

Sorry Pink - i wasn't trying to get you to ask less questions.

I am feeling a bit fragile (had PND for nearly two years now, very hard to get help for it) and probably read too much into you not having read my posts - so that's my bad, not yours. I apologise.

You are pregnant, prolly very tired and maybe not having the time to read ALL the posts that have come up since you visited this thread the day before - which would make it easy to miss mine. I should have just posted the link to my prior post, instead of coming to the incorrect conclusion, so i am sorry.

THis forum is all about asking questions, please don't let me being fragile, put you off asking questions. Each time YOU ask a question, there are bound to be plenty of other people who benefit equally from the answers/brainstorming that results (after each question.

i answer the same questions over and over on multiple forums, but on other forums i can post url (website links) which makes it very easy for the person to go to the info and saves me having to type out heaps of stuff. I can't do that on this forum, not allowed, - even for cloth advocacy sites (not for profit, no money involved).

sorry to have over-reacted Pink, my apologies, it was silly of me and out of order.
