 they'll be dry by the time they hit the line

I think they will freeze before they dry LOL
 its cold here... and I just left most of my winter tops in Sydney.
MAZ!!!! Red cotton mate, red. Its hot with cow print. Although, Matilda had a cow wrap (monstar is the brand I think...) and she was totally addicted to it until she turned... well until I left it on the plane and couldn't afford to replace it. ANYway... back to topic.... it had a lime green ribbon around it & it was gorgeous as well.
BTW: the cow wrap came with a cow bottle (the lid had udders LMAO) and a cow nappy zipper bag. Absolutely beautiful... now its quite ironic with her cow milk allergy. She was Moo girl from day 2 in her cow prints :( In a fit of anger towards the poor cows I threw it all out after the allergy diagnosis.
Freeze dried nappies FJ? :nahnah: It was cold here last night but not quite that cold. I streaked across the house at 5am to let the cat in and froze! Mental note to self to get that cat flap installed.
Gigi how dare you speak such filthy words. I am offended! I think I'll put in a request to Kelly to add iron to the auto censor ;) BTW I am shocked that the flushale liners survived the wash. I though the point of them was that they dissolved/broke down!
Maz do you think the BB looks a bigger fit than that red one I gave you?
PP I love BB an have a few newborn ones. The bigger sizes are VERY generous!
Cheekymonkey welcome :D Have you had a look around in the other cloth nappy threads? There is stacks of info there but I know it is heaps to take in! Feel free to ask anything you need to know.
Ali does your husband tinker? Mine does and keeps rebirthing my washing machine cos he's a tighta$$. Last tim he fixed the switchboard behind the dial..I thought it was a gonner for sure. I'm both amazed and annoyed that he keeps doing that cos I want a new one. I think 15 years out of a washing machine is good value!
I have been putting together a package for full time nap naps, what do you think?? DS is 9kgs.
12 X Cute Tooshies
9 X BBH Bamboo
3 X Itti bittie D'lish (medium)
2 X Medium pul (thirsties)
2 X Large pul (thirsties)
2 x BBH wool covers (medium)
2 X BBH wool covers (large)
Opinions? Should I try a different soaker (longies or shorties or in betweenies)???? Should I have some extra boosters? It's a big outlay, but works out cheaper that buying individually but I don't want to make the wrong decision............
I would change your med Ittis to Lge's.
To me it looks like a fantastic stash!! I don't know much about the cute tooshies, but others on here swear by them ;) I love a good pocket nappy myself.
Maz - I totally agree with Christy - RED! RED, RED, RED! Really looks awesome, something about black, white & red, looks tres fantastic.
Ali - Wow, twins would be exciting & SCARY all at once! Fingers crossed for you!
Just a quickie, have about a gazillion nappies need washing & am off to get my skin checked for suspicious spots later.... ooh, the fun!!! BBL
WOPB: BBH bamboo & Mazzy's giraffe cover. :)
Hi Ladies
I'd also like to join in, if thats ok. So far I only have 2 itti bitti nappies that I bought at the baby expo, but want to get more. I'm doing my tax return tonight so hopefully I get a good refund to buy more nappies! My DD is almost 1. I'm sure I'll have heaps of questions?
1 question already - is there a glossary anywhere on what all the acronyms stand for?
Thanks FJ, I was thinking that too as he has chunky thighs. Snap in or sewn in???
Christy - Do pockets come with the boosters or do you just stuff them with anything you want? Being new to this I'm just not sure what to put where?
Kellie - go to oz cloth nappies (google it) and there's an acronym list there.
Maz - definately green! Emerald, grassy green!!!
Where can I get some lovely christmas covers?
Re snoozywuns - I have 4 or 5 plus a KK nights plus a GNST (mixture of mediums & larges)
And about 5 widdlewuns
Some will come with boosters and some don't. Be sure before you buy and if it's not clear then email the store owner to confirm.
I use the snap in ittis and like them for the speed of drying. I have bought some sewn ins to try them out for the new bub and to make it a bit easier for DH as I will be insisting he help me a bit more often this time around ;)
Cheeky - most pockets come with inserts - although they are microfibre - they sell the bamboo or hemp inserts separately (eg, I'm talking about BumG's, Happy Heiny's, Haute etc)
Green Kids sell all their inserts separately.
Might still fit into mediums you know - DS is still in medium IB's (they actually fit him better than the larges do) and he's 12.5kg.
And welcome Kellie :)
Gigi - Nope, needs to do some training before he can be deployed, sometime in the new year he will be away for 10 weeks for that training. His boss doesn't think he will be deployed before I pop.
Sammi - Yep, he tinkers. I have only had 2 new whitegoods since we got married, the fridge, coz the motor on the old one died, and that couldn't be repaired, and the dryer! I would love a dish washer and a new washing machine, but doubtful unless the WM dies again and I have buckleys and none of getting a dishwasher, even though he never does them, even though it's his chore
Strip wash is on the 8th rinse. I have been keeping an eye on it and there is always some suds coming out! How many rinses does it usually take?
Maz I reckon red is nice and bold, Brown will blend in eventually and green seems like you want the cow to be eating it IYKWIM
Sarah locked herself in the toilet this morning. She decided to wash the room with the toilet paper and water. She was being quiet and I didnt even know she was up! So straight into the bath this morning when I got up. She is going the right way to have a very boring weekend locked in her room. She is being very trying atm.
WOEB: Sposie - all the cloths are being stripped
WOSB: a towel.
:jawdrop::
Strip wash is on the 8th rinse. I have been keeping an eye on it and there is always some suds coming out! How many rinses does it usually take?
how much detergent did you put in??
a drop! I figured either the nappies had heaps of buildup or something is wrong! there is only a tiny but of sudding now, like when the sponge is nearly dry but has a little bit of foam that you can squeeze out IYKWIM. It's only on the edges of the water occasionally. Should I stop doing it now or does the water need to be completely bubble free?
Back from spotisville :o we wont say what we bought and how much it cost....more to hide from jed.
that is exactly what I was thining...but now I think I'll defently have to do a red one to.....hehehe thoughts it might look to burtal in red IFYKWIM
:shhh: I know nothing
Monkey - sounds like a fab stash BUT be warned not all nappies work great on all babies. Get one or 2 CT's to start with and if you really like them then go nuts....what works for one may not work for another. And I agree if your going to get IB's get larges.
Sammi - I think the BB is longers and wider in the bum but not in the waist. the one you gave us is a perfect fit. PMSL at you streaking...pitty there were no L platers that time of morning
Christy - you dont like the feel of minkee or coral fleece do you hun?? BUGGEr cause ive got 2m of cow coral here (its super soft) and I would be more then happy to make a wrap for you
Great...Vy's done a pooh (on potty) and come out showing me her hands...yep she wiped her bum and got NOTHING on the loo paper!!!!!
thanks girls
Well i just bought 1 x bb and 2 x iishflys preloved all large. Hoping they wont be too big. If they are then i will just have to resell.
Also there is a girl (another forum) who is selling new IB delish for 17 (sew in)...in small and medium ... i would have gotten them but i have run out of my allowance... (sold some BG's). if you want the link let me know for those stalking IB!
It took another couple of rinses
But I think I figured out what happened! The hole on my detergent bottle is huge! so I put my finger over the hole and let out the TINIEST drop for the rest of my nappies, hopefully it only needs the standard rinses with that!
How many rinses does a strip wash take you?
I am thinking about buying some bamboo now that I can preshrink it. Does it get cheaper per metre the more you order? How much does it shrink? Do they account for shrinkage in the selling price?
I put a nappy in the dryer, on low, with my wetbag and heaps more nappies, and the wetbag and 1 nappy have damaged the PUL :o! Everything else was fine. Is there a way I can fix it?
I went into our local spotters and there was no marked Minky! what else could it be called?
I didnt know Spotersvills sold minkee still...they'd be pretty much sold out now Ali. Can one 'purchase' a booster for a CT seperately by chanch???
Maz, You can purchase a Bamboo foldup seperately, which fold to about the same size but 3 times thicker than a mini booster. they are what I use overnight.
They had some cow print furry stuff that was about as long as the cow print minky, but I cant remember what it was labled. It wasnt labled Minky.
Well I think this second half of nappies needs a least one more rinse. I have already done 4 rinses. What am I doing wrong?!
I have a fair bit of bright blue dot minkee if someone is chasing minkee
Its coral or cuddle fleece ali
Hmm fiona dont be tempting me woman...is it the same as what you already sent me or a different shade of blue??? Katones sent me some blue that is gorgeous but different to the one you sent me babe
be the same i think, I have a royal blue & bright bluem pretty sure it was the bright i sent you
mmmmm minkee.... lurve the stuff...can't wait to get it on Jacks Butt!!! i'll be patting him all day long :D
Katones sent me a dark blue that was devine....
now cow print with lime green or grass green...im doing the red aswell :)
Friggen Jed...I swear im gonna head butt the **** one of these days! I dont know how many times Ive told him...not the BP covers of a nite their PUL hun...yes HUn and this monring I change Mateauz ot find the choclate brown BP over his BBH and nice red knackers to boot! All day he's been a sooky la la cause
a) he's teething and I can smell that his urin is like acid
b) he also has escmer (I so cant spell for quids) and thats agravating him
c) he is getting increasingly agro with not getting around quick enough
So yes...I so didnt need his grion and date to be nice and red and owies today...thank god for Moo Goo casue I swear to god...its helping him
The dark blue is possibly what i am calling royal blue LOL
Maz go the grass green..... oooo how exciting!!!
Ok girls. I have decided. I am almost over prefolds overnight... i think it is a combination of DS cluster feeding up to 5-6 times between 8pm and 6am... and being barely coherent.
i am concerned the bamboo prefolds arent going to keep him dry enough for him to sleep longer periods (i am trying expressing and bottle before bed tonight...) and that will wake him up???
Perhaps i should stick to MCN and prefolds for day, sposies for night until he is big enough for the BBB system? At least i trust them for long periods??
:( sorry for my boohoo but kinda getting the sleep deprivation sobs!
 PP. Do you have any boosters? I just added a bamboo booster to the prefold to give more absorbency. But soon (if not already) he should be ready for the Baby BeeHinds at night.
Nelle
Atm i have a Bamboo trifold i have either been pad folding or pining as a prefold. So ultimately under his bum (angel fold) only has 2 layers bamboo and 1 microfibre...
I like the pad fold but hate the cleaning of the spilllage in the PUL covers on the edges (no leaks outside though at least)
Hey Nelle... how are your soapnuts (you use them right?)... might sometimes stain my nappies.... :(
PP - when I was using prefolds I put the wings out of the pad fold to catch all the poop. Didn't have a problem getting it on the covers either?
She's been in the beehinds for about 2 weeks now I think?
Speaking of her (DD) - she has these welt type things on the sides of her legs where the nappies must be laying against. I can't think what nappies she wore yesterday - I know she had two WC on - baby beehinds at night... but my memory fails me for the others...
Anyone think what it is? I haven't put any new nappies on her - so unsure what is happening?!? It looks quite sore anyway...
Ahh, what I did was use a normal cotton prefold and lay another booster in there somewhere. Another option could be to grab some size 1 Tots Bots Bamboozles. Being bamboo terry (as opposed to fleece) they're quite trim. That's 4 layers of bamboo.
Mel, the marks could be rubbing from leg elastic? Like if she's kicking about a bit? Perhaps try a barrier cream in that place? What covers are you using? You might want to use a few fleece covers during the day?
Nelle - didn't use covers yesterday I don't think?? Over the BBB i've been using her wool covers.... and they have big leg holes... gawdddd... i don't even know what to put on it!!!!
i guess if I put something like bepanthen - if I ever find the bloody stuff in my house - it won't affect the nappies huh cos its more on the outside leg bit of the nappy?
