Ahh yep Maz, Sounds like it would be the mini booster missing that stopped it lasting. And maybe a little damp when Jed brought it in

Ali - when do you get the U/S? Is it too early to congratulate you on twinnies? You sound pretty certain though, so what the hell - congratulations!!!
We've had a breakthrough(ish) on the crocodile rolling from hell. I lay him down, he rolls over and makes a dash for freedom, I lay him back down again and pin him down with my calves, he yells, screams and thrashes around like a fish out of water, I wind up his little music box which has spinning cows on it (very cute), and put it next to him, he shuts up and stares at it absolutely transfixed until it winds down, at which point I frantically wind it back up again before he goes ballistic again. We even got calmly through three poos today. Thank you everyone for your advice, sympathy etc, yesterday I was contemplating chopping his arms and legs off and wrapping his bum in a plastic bag as the only remaining option to getting his bum changed.
Christy, I'm glad you made it home for Matilda, and that you found a place in Sydney.
WOHB: BumG
Ali, very exciting. BUT my SIL was exactly the same. Her GP actually called her after having bloods done & asked her she was feeling. SIL had had M?S from very early on, like the moment she POS & got a BFP. She had an early scan that showed only a sac, no fetal pole etc. Her GP(mow x gp) said Sorry, your misscarring. She was still heaps sick & took my advise to go to a different GP & get bloods done. Bloods came back really reallly high. Had more follow up bloods & this is when GP called her & said get an U\s done ASAP as I believe there are twins.
She is currently carrying a very healthy girl. But one 1.
BUT trust your gut feelings but wait for that scan till you get tooo excited just incase there is just the one bubba in there.
Fingeres crossed though, I would love twins!
Hi Everyone!
I hope those that went to the Expo in Melbourne enjoyed themselves and bought lots of nice things! I bought a whole stack of nappies so am very excited!!
I have been putting the clothies on Jett ft since yesterday but now his bum is going red :( Anyone have any idea why or how to fix it? It isn't raw yet but I want to get on top of it before it gets to that. He has been mainly wearing IB d'lish nappies. I'm not sure if it is the nappies, or he just happens to have burny poo atm. And what stuff do you find best for burning bums and cloth?
I also wanted to ask people what you use with your cloth wipes? Do you use a solution or just water? Do you use a spray bottle or bowl or straight from the tap? What do you do when you go out?
Sorry for all the questions, I'm still trying to figure all this stuff out! I know I will get there one day! ;)
Sorry Maz - I sent you that CT in the swap and it didn't have a mini booster in it when I got it. I got it from the 'bargain bin' and Ness helped with it. Maybe it was in the 'bargain bin' because there was no mini booster??
Suse - I feel ya babe! My little terror is like a squirming bucket of worms when I'm trying to change him atm. NOT fun.. although it's funny to watch DH do it ;) He likes the packet the disposable wipes come in (I know, must get organised for cloth ones) so that's my latest trick!
Ali - Quiet congrats... got my fingers crossed for ya! :o
WOHB: BBB & lovelybums wool cover (gave the disana soaker a rest tonight!)
Oh Ali - congrats, hope it is twins for you (if that's what you're hoping for) but have to echo FJ in that twice my number have been high and first time had to do a dating scan to check for twins and more advanced pg but no I'm just a hormone factory :-) Thus the reason pregnancy recks havoc on my body :-) Would be awesome to be buying MCN for twins though - ohh matching patterns - so cute. good luck fingers are crossed for you.
Mummy tummy - I find the best for red bottoms is corn flower, that will give you a chance to see if it is just poops or a reaction to the fleece lining on the itti's. Ari has a slight reaction to polyester in some nappies but seems fine with microfleece??
Look forward to hearing about wipes solutions as ours aren't working at the moment and I would like to go back to cloth wipes.
Suse - Ari's frantic nappy change antics only lasted a couple of weeks before she figured she wasn't going to get her own way and now she lies herself down for nappy changes.
WOHB - pink dot minky wildchild with maz tutti frutti cover for extra protection :
Ali that would be so exciting. I too had double "normal" levels with Matilda, not Jovie. I was so sick and they had me have an early scan to make sure it wasn't twins. I was so excited. We have twins in our family and I would have loved to have twins, but alas... just very high levels. And tremendous m/s. I lost 7kg in the first trimester.
I love being home. I'm going to hate living in boxes for a few weeks, but I will love living close to family.
Mummy-tummy - I just use warm water at home from the tap. I did try making a solution of bum wash from the net (baby oil, baby bath & water) but didn't like it. When out, if I'm in a baby room I'll try for warm water, else I carry a little bottle of water with me in the nappy bag.
Well feeling a bit better today. DH now using night nappies (again) and still procrastinating over the little squirt. Argh.
Ali - hoping that whatever's in your tummy is healthy and brings your family great happiness! *hugs* and congrats.
Anyone got their October CC bonus yet?
Anyhows, best get dressed to get to the doc.
WoPB - it was a BBB with BB PUL.
Nettie - dont stress hon. I'll just put in another booster for it :)
Kaz - what is CC hon?
childcare ;)
can you tell I live in a cave
Of to have a play with some cow minkee...noice
ooooh cow minkee? cow? jersey? or freesia?
Hey FJ, did you get snow this morning? I've got the fire on here today its freeeeeezing.
No, no snow here but it was like 5 degree outside. Its still pretty cold now. we had a good storm though. All this rain is great for my water tank but not so good when BOTH boys wet the bed this morning! I have so much bloody washing to catch up on, in my 4.5 kg washing machine!
eta - Im about 750 mt above sea level &t he forecast says some snow above 1000 mt. So I could (if I had the car) go for a 10 minute drive up the road & maybe seen snow there but I doubt it. I think its too wet for snow. Its not the right feel IFYKWIM
Has anyone seen (or tried) CGR design on ozebaby? Gorgeous minkee AI2s, wondering if anyone has any feedback ...
I have a CGR nappy, havent given it a real work out though but it looks good & worked well on ISla the little bit I used it. I got it in a swap though & its for the man. So its been put away for now
CGR is on WAHMnaps as well Kaz :) and Ive only heard good things... Oh the cow print is black and white...gonna be putting some wording on the back IFYKWIM ;)
Ah crap Fiona...both beds!! grrrrr!!!!
Mateauz has acid poo again.....it friggen stinks!
oooh new Vyolett pic!
Do I need a new zebra nappy? (or any zebra for that matter!)
YES YES YES!!!!!!! Im a more partical to cow as you could tell on saturday (buying that bubblebubs cow and t-shirt heheheh) but I LOVE animal prints....Have some giraffe and zebra here that Im gonna play with soon :)
hmmm. will see if its still there for me in a couple of days.
just popping in to say a quick HI!!!!
we are still in sposies :( but as soon as his cord stump comes off we shall be in cloth!!!!!
al this boy does is shiat!!! i copped it last night.. all down the front of my PJ's :) hubby thought it was quite amusing in the middle of the night :(
poos are getting better but still VERY sprayable...
WOJB ~ sposie :(
ARGH!!!! As if I havent had enough Washing Machine troubles!! Now it isn't draining or switching the filler off!!! it overflowed!!! DH will have a look at it when he gets home, but if this keeps happening I am getting a new machine!! ARGH!!!!!:wall::wall::wall:
So we are in sposies :(
Good news is that I found the missing soaker today!!! pity I cant use it for a little while :(
usually when it does that Ali it means the solenoid switch has gone...not cheap to fix unfortunately :(
hey Ali - you didnt find the missing soaker in the washing machine did ya...only joking...go buy a new one babe!
It just seems every time we find out we will be getting some money, something expensive dies, and we have to fix it, we cant get ahead!! :wall:
The soaker was in a box I have checked a thousand times, right at the bottom.
I really need to wash my nappies!! this totally sucks!!! I hope that all that has happened is that when DH was fixing the hot water hose he didnt put the machine back together properly and all he needs is to do it properly.
Nice end to a cr*ppy day. I might just go have a hormonal pg woman cry. I hate it when DH is on 12 hour shifts! Must try and get my tornadoes into bed!
I so hear you there! We have in the next 2 months Bike & Care rego (about $1000 all up) Windscreen on the car, air con in the car, bike service (just done)$420. Credit card etc etc etc Out of the 9k we will get with all these bonus money (baby & xmas) I think we may come away with maybe 2 at the most left over. But at least we will be debt free, for al ittle while LOL
arrghhh Ali hoep its a quick fix
just a quick pop in
GIGI and I had a fantastic day,... sewed and snapped up a storm!!! thanks for the day hun.. bet your now glad to get away from miss chatter box!!!
ok my house is getting painted tomorrow and is no where near ready for it so i better get my arse of the net!!
well, he's promised to install the LS this weekend, has made me promise to not touch it. I was in there with a gunky horrid nappy that was stinking out the house and a bucket and looking for a monkey wrench ....
Sounds like you & Gigi had a lovely day Beatrix!
Ali - I hope it gets fixed soon, and is something simple...
FJ -erk re all the bills! Not good!
WoHB - snoozywun
:crossfingers: touch wood :pray:Its's Fixed!!!! The water inlet and one of the wires weren't in properly!!! But if it dies again while we are here, that is it, I am fed up with it, we will get a new one. So of it starts playing up again tonight or tomorrow, then it gets replaced tomorrow night. It is a huge old commercial style washer, we were given it when we got married and it is nearly 15 years old but it fits everything in it. It only just fits in the washing machine space!
We have an empty load going to clean it and then I will wash, and while I have sposies available I will strip wash tomorrow.
I have decided my DS is anti- sposies (which I love )! My grandma changed his nappy while I was in the shower and then we sat down for dinner. DS decided that was a perfect time to poo  so I thought bugger it Ill finish my dinner Ill only be like 5 minutes. Apparently that wasn't good enough for DS so he undid his nappy and procceds to play in his own poo!!! This is like the third time he has got out of sposies so Im hiding them so no one else can put them on him!
WOHB: Light blue peapods
Evening :)
Ali - glad your machine was able to be fixed - and can't wait to see if you are having twins!! How excitement!! i'd love for my next ones to be twins - but with my cousin having twins - I think thats it for our generation!!! (DH has twins in his family - but the wrong side unfortunately!!)
FJ - I sent nappies to you today, so you will be getting fluffy mail soon ;)
Kaz - I think you've talked me into this moogoo stuff.. ;) Hey, how many Snoozywuns do you have? I'm just curious.. lol
Maz - OMG that is such a great bloody pic of Vy.. she is soooo gorgeous mate...
No nappy news here. Got fluffy mail yesterday. But thats all.
Had a blow out earlier with a WC - pee all up the back of her sleeping bag thing - so not sure what the go is there - guess I didnt' do it up tight enough?
WOAB: Snoozywun & shorties
WOMB: BBB & Longies
Just a quickie to say :jawdrop: That's bloody cold!!
(And I thought it's been cold the last couple of nights because it got down to about 20 lol.
To all those with nappy blowouts, wet beds, spraying poo, massive bills and otherwise had crappy days -
To those who have successfully sewed, fixed washing machines, found soakers and had good days - YAY!
I am contemplating getting a couple of Greenkids. Not because I need 'em, but just so I know what I missed out on by getting heaps of BumGs instead. Also the Zebra Stripe Minkytimes is tres adorable. And I do need more nappies that go with black Bonds tee-shirts (well, that's a lie, black Bonds tees go with all nappies!!). And it's been a while since I've had new fluffy mail.
WOHB: FJ special turquoise dot minky night nappy with turquoise and green soaker
Mummy Tummy - i'm pretty sure that itti bitti aio's use SUEDECLOTH for the inner layer. Some baby's skin reacts to synthetic fabrics that are used for inners of MCN, e.g suedecloth or microfleece. I have a DD who reacts to both.
Do you have ANY nappies that don't have a suedecloth inner to test out that theory?
Saram - i just wet a facewasher with water to clean at nappy time. THe loopy side "grabs" the poo really well.
Christy - i'm so glad the airline helped you out.
Suse - loved hearing about your crocodile roll solution. We have a shoebox of "distractions" on the nappy bookshelf. nodding at you alot!!!
KATONES - sprayable poo hey? do you have covers with leg gussets? i LURVED those for containing those explosive, runny messes.
Nelle - how is your carpet hon? (pins Gold Medal on you for cleanign that up).
MAZ - glad you had a good time at the expo
SKITTLEBUB - sounds like you had fun too!
WARNING:
the following contains a word starting with an "I", ending with an "N" and having "OR" in the middle. If this word is NOT used in your household, this is your chance to
look away from the computer screen NOW!!!!
Yes, i thought my ironing days were over.
But DH has ironing board out regularly, has to iron "work shirt" each morning (no matter i say, why not iron the week's shirts at ONE time, he won't listen)
anyhoo, i digree
i have been collecting GAZILLIONS of washed, flushable liners
cos the poo ones gets flushed, and the wet ones go thru the nappy wash load
they end up all screwed up and i never get round to unscrewing/unravelling them, too hard, too timeconsuming
tonight i saw some, i was near teh ironing board, and suddenly thought - crinkled up paper - iron - hmmmm?
so i put said theory to the test
now have perfect flat flushable liners that i can re-use in bilby's MCN
so if you are still with me this far in
i've found a way to re-use the wet flushable liners, without the dreaded Crinkle Factor.
and i sure won't be doing it often, just once in a blue moon, do HEAPS at once.
OK, the rest of you can look back now
crisis averted, no more talk of the "I" word i promise!!!
ME: i had the most fantastic sewing day with Ness, who despite being the DAY before her house is about to be painted, shared her sewing knowledge, her machines and her snapping prowess with me, i am SO LUCKY!!!! I was like a pig in the proverbial, to be let loose on WORKING sewing machines!!!
Can't believe how much sewing we got done, it was magic. Inbetween cuddling the gorgy Miz MJ and admiring Miz T's very glittery artwork.
Last night, i swear, some small items i was trying to overlock around (on my broken machine), the machine would need to be rethreaded continously, like EVERY TEN CMS!!!! FFS!!!! much swearing was going down i can tell you.
ALI - glad you found The Missing Soaker. But the Washing Machine Saga continues!!! grrrr to that! Is your dh been deployed already?
ARIMEH - She Wot Once Wuz Gudi
what is the rise like on the wild child for her? FJ can tell you about the different sizes of that brand, i think one is longer in the rise than the other.
once you do up a nappy, if you stand your child up, and RECHECK for tummy gape, red0 if it NOW looks a bit loose, that can stop some leak issues.
Cos it's not just LEG GAPE that is importatn, it's also TUMMY GAPE - ESP with the night nappy.
Does the cover you have over the WIld Child adequately cover 100% of the nappy, especially the rise?
FALGUNI - where for art thou?
RAVEN - well we know where you'll be! recovering after a hectic Baby Expo!!
mwah!
WOTBB: kester covers aio
only a fly buy...we had -1 last nite...freezing my boobies of BIG TIME!!!!
BBL have to wake the monsters
Jay-zus - all these single digits for weather - I don't like that!! TOOO COOOOLD...
We think its pretty chilly this morning - its 16 degrees.. lol
Gigi - I don't think the rise is very high - it wasn't a night nappy - just one that i had on her between her bath time and bedtime - so I was surprised that it leaked, but yeah, I was in a hurry cos DS was in the loungeroom by himself being VERY quiet, so it was a bit of a rush job. First time it has leaked on me - so I'm guessing it was a Mellie fault rather than a nappy fault  And way to go on the "I" "RO" "NING"... I wish I could get my butt into gear to do some here!!! I'm so friggin lazy..
Suse - we have a zebra minky times here - I LOVE IT SOOOOO MUCH.......we use it for night times cos we think it is so great.
MT - I noticed when I first had DS in cloth - he would get red a few times if he hadn't worn the nappy before - but on the 2nd or 3rd use he was fine.
Speaking of red butts - he had a bit of a red - well - splotch really, near his.. uh.. balls.. hoping it doesn't turn into anything tooooo nasty - but he's teething and is a right little PITA - so I'd say it might just become worse...... :(
Have I mentioned I hate TEETHING....
Ahh well.. better go clean up - or at least get out of my jarmies before Miss M wakes up.
WOAB: Haute
WOMB: BBB (probably soaking wet cos obviously I haven't changed her yet since 8pm last night)
Hi girls!
Wondering what peoples opinions on iishfly and bubblebubs were?
Looking for ashley. I am guessing large is huge yes?
WOAB - BC pocket
WOEB - Bamboo prefold and Swaddlebee PUL
I have been lurking in the cloth-bummed thread for a while and have decided to move DS into cloth full time. I'm not sure what has been stopping me, I had a "picture"of the kind of mumma I wanted to be and when the BF didn't work (due to a condition that prevents my body from making enough milk) I gave up on the lot. I have decided to work with the choices that I DO have. Just wondering if I can join in as I have heaps of questions....
Of course you can join in cheekymonkey - ask away!!
PP we have a large Bubblebubs and its huge! she doesnt even wear it, not sure she ever will to be honest, but the medium still fits, but just!
welcome monkey!
I have an Iishyfly...its a medium and on the small side to be honest but great absorbency, snap finish and have 3 boosters that I continuously get confussed with
Bubble bubs..i bought a medium at the expo  as it was brown minkee with cow tabs and **** fabo honey. Their a large fit as Jol's said and so easy...(they sort of remind me of a HB with the booster sewn in if that helps)-velcro closure to babe. I could have gone a large in the waist though but the rise would have been to much.
Welcome aboard monkey :) ask us anything you want :D
Fingers and flaps crossed Ali thats its all fixed now.
What colour thread would you use on cow print girls? I want to embroider something on the butt but Jed and Iargued last night...I said green he said brown now I dont know which one to use! dame it!!!
Im feeling the urge to go to SL.......
WOMB - Teal IB :p
according to the thermometer outside its ....... 3 here:
We think its pretty chilly this morning - its 16 degrees.. lol
eta - Not sure if its worth hanging washing outside in this heat....
