Can I just say, havent used the Itti's yet but my god Im already a fan! They feel so soft and the boosters feel like they could soak up a pond! Might have to get me some small itti's for River!
A quessie about the prefolds, what are your fave's and do they wash just like the MCNs? No hard scrubbing and such?

Ethan has been having MAJOR PASTE poos... filing the whole BBB! (i am not joking).
Today he must have done one in the car and i didnt notice (no wonder he sleep for almost 4 hours!!!) so when i changed his nappy it was well and truelyy soaked into the BBB.
Even the liquid squirt couldnt shift it on super pressure!
so i have them soaking with liquid sensitive washing detergent and scrubbed them to buggery with a toothbrush. THey are still mustard in colour!
Will have have to do this will the NB poos! arrrh indiviudually scrubbing each one!
What should i soak them in?
Is it ok to use products like sard wonder soap?
the yellow tube or tub (Simmons - available online at ecobabe and i see it IRL at health food shops, organic baby shops too sometimes:
the black tube - i can never remember the name of it
the red tube or tub (Lucas) that's the one i avoid, as it's petroleum based.

PINKPALACE - when your bub fills a nappy with pastey stuff, that doesn't seem to budge, try LEAVING the nappy in the nappy bucket, come back to it a few hours later, and try again. (maz or nelle, or someone very experienced in the Affairs of Poop, told me this most excellent tip, yonks ago. Sometimes i find, in this time, the liquid in the paste has evaporated, adn the stuff is easier to move, even it kind of peels of in a thick "skin".
i never had to scrub or soak the nb nappies. Just little squirted the prefolds, (used microfleece liners too) and into the dry pail.
oh and RAVEN - what you said, about Itti bitti, being narrow in the CROTCH but fuller coverage in the BOTTOM, that makes alot of sense. i had obv not put that all together, so thanks for articulating that for me. I nominate you as The Voice of Reason.

damm xmas shopping, did it today - first time i had been xmas shopping since 2005. 2006 i gave up, 2007 was too hard, 2008 - doing a pitiful amount four days before xmas.
i now TOTALLY get why some people buy WAY ahead of time and even wrap ahead of time, they are so smart - to AVOID the xmas kafuffle. the noise of the shopping centre, all the smells, chemicals, so much perfume, beeping going off everywhere, all the mobile ringtones - blimey - talk about sensory overload, god knows what little kids make of it, no wonder they hate shopping, i do too. i got so stressed, i'm not even sure that i bought the right things, just wanted to get OUT of there.

PP I don't soak, I don't even use a little squirt! I just put them in the wash, runny poop and all on a prewash, wash then extra rinse :) Don't ya love pasty poop haha
AnnaT bamboo prefolds are good if you are into using that sort of thing :) No scrubbing or anything :)

Anyone use unbleached cotton prefolds? What style fold do you use? Snappi's or pins?
Thinking I should get some prefolds as a JIC and for use when he first comes home but not sure which ones/what folds to use?

Well we had a nice sunny day here today!! So all my nappies got some much needed sun! Sunny days are few and far between here! Usually when I hang the nappies out, it rains :rolleyes:
AnnaT I used cotton prefolds, I wish I had of gotten Bamboo after I used one though, Ashton soaked through them in no time. I didn't use any I just pad folded it in a pul cover :)

Well the nappy is soaking..
and all my new longies/shorties are lanolising....
so not long and will try DS in a night nappy! not sure to go straight to a gnst (although seems like a lot of boosting to me).. or just try a BBB :)
