Question D'ya reckon this would work?

    Howdy owdy clothy peoples

I'm leaving for a holiday to Hervey Bay on thursday. I'm wanting to do cloth while I'm gone (hopefully will be able to use my SIL's washing machine - if not will go to laundromat)

Wondering since I have such a big lot of nappies to take (with 2 in cloth) if I could put my stash in one of those large space bags (you know, the ones you vaccuum all the air out of so they go really skinny) and suck all the air out so it lays flat in the boot? (Remebering that we also have to take the stroller, two mattresses, maybe the portacot, etc with us cos BIL and SIL have NOTHING at their house we can use)

Do you think this would damage the nappies or have I come up with an excellent space saving idea?

God babe..I dont see how it would damage them...why dont you try on a crusty one that you dont like.

i usually pack mine in a small suitcase and put it at the foot space under were one of the kids in their car seats sit.

    Thanks guys

Maz - will have to experiment on how many I can fit in.. I sorta calculated that I'll need at least 3 days worth for both of them -including nights - so thats about 24 nappies

have you worked out what you're going to store the dirty /used ones in (until you can wash them?)

have you got a monster wetbag (to leave at your accommodation)
and a day wetbag (to take with you in the car each day)?

    Spacebag is a good idea.

I would take a bucket for the dirty nappies. Wetbags stink, unless you plan on washing every day. You could then use the bucket to chuck your stash in in the car for the initial travelling. But then.. you need somewhere to keep the stash once you need the bucket. hmm... go the space bags Just be careful packing it into the car.. they tear really easily I found. Perhaps space bag them so that you can fit a lot into a suitcase or something.
