DH is in love with new nappies (esp the Iishflies)
i'm devastated though - the one i really wanted in the first place (the reason i ended up there) ended up not being available
sooky la la moment here!
when i eventually get the LS i'll put it in the toilet downstairs which is right next to the laundry. bucket wont fit in it thou but it can sit under the sink which is right outside the door...we dont have a change table so i jst change him wherever.
just out of curiousity, how many wetbags do u own?! we hardly go out atm so 1 is more than enough but want to now for future reference
qn re moogoo- would the msm soothing cream b ok to use all over baby's body? or would it be better to use the trad udder cream? also, would it be safe if he puts it in his mouth?!
kat - yes i dod et my snake, and I LOVE it! I'll punk it up when it fits her i think!!!
got a big box of fluff from booroi this morning, and went back on and ordered some more things, including that little kimono how cute
ali - conrats on the pink!!!!!!!!!
to everyone re silk liners - i have meailed babysoft landings to see if i can pre order soem as they arent in stock. failing that i will call my aunt to see if she would mind overlocking some for me (stitching challenged you see, i am lucky to get a button on straight)
gigi and suse - with the sugarpeas, i meant the hemp fitted ones, i think i;ll grab some to try anyway (only $16!) i think the snap in ones look really high in the rise?
WOHB - bbb/lovey bums crepe wool cover
Congrats Ali!
BG - I have 2 loos one near James' room(main bathroom) and a loo off the laundry so I carry all nappies from his room to the laundry to put in my pail so I will get the LS installed in there. I don't find it hard to carry the nappy from where I have changed him to the laundry and the loo is right off there so that will work for me. I guess eveyrone is different and finds different ways to use everything. I guess the LS is meant to be easy to install so you could always move it if you found it wasn't working for you??
DH is home! :leap: SOOOO excited to have him back and also so he can start using cloth full time too! I have loads to teach him and hopefully he will quickly see the need for more!
WOJB: Choc Haute
kitten hon...if you want, send it to me and I'll over lock them for ya...it wouldnt cost that much in postage.
YAY Kat on getting a refund now you can scrap the poo like I normally do (cause im lazy lol)
OH NO!!! Bg whast nappy did you want in the first place hon?
Eugenia - i try to be evil but it jsut doenst work
Rhoda - Ive got 2 wetbags, a smaller Jamtots and a huge BBH...I had about 5 at one stage but have shared the love with others and given them away
AnnaT - hope your alright chicken :(
Tan - WOOO HOOOO on hubby being home
ok off again...Ive just escaped the clutches of nutregrain eating boy and I scream alot girl
Im ok Maz, bit stressed but I'll get over it. Thanks for thinking of me :)
Got my fluffy mail from ozbabytrends yesterday - 1 motorbike pocket nappy, 1 pirate pocket nappy and a happy baby sherpa fitted for the big boys.
So now Ive made a promise that I wont buy anything else MCN related til a certain time in Feb ;)
But Ive consoled myself by looking for a new pram ahahahaha ALMOST as fun to do as MCN shopping.
Just a little 'housekeeping' here...
It goes without saying that you lot love to chat. And we love you for it. But so that we are not creating a new thread every other day, could you please edit your posts rather than posting again straight away with an update. There's been a bit of it lately, possibly due to the upgrade issues, but if we could all avoid it where possible, it makes the threads easier to read.
Also, if members need to contact a MPM regarding products or an order, please do this via PM or email, and not on the forums.
Thanking you all!
Purple hat off now... Just to say - congratulations on your PINK one Ali.
And yay on the return of DH Tan!
Kitten - yep, the snap ins do have high rise, this is one of the reasons why they are ACE. Great for night time for newbies and tummy sleepers.
WOHB: I don't remember... Oh, a Cute Tooshies under a Maz Black Minky cover.
Ali more PINK!! YAY  Congrats!
Suse I hope your getting a purple hat soon cz now I imagine you with one on whenever youre doing mod work lol ;)
WOHB: Winnie the Pooh GK
Maz - there was a yellow nappy with a cow on it - went to go to the site again to have a look, but doesn't look like it's up at the moment. supposed to reopen on Monday 19th (been and gone) so don't know what happened - to be honest, i dont even know if it added to shopping cart properly cos i was having puter issues (as you do!). ahh well, i'm sure i can find another like it somewhere... we get the cow stuff pointed out to us in here lots!
on the mention of cow stuff - if anyone was looking at that little cow suit that was pointed out the other day, it's on the moo goo site for $10 cheaper.
have just sorted my stash out and packed it all up for a while - have a fair bit, but lots of it is bigger sizes (i'm a tight ass - would rather buy a L now while i'm buying a small and only pay postage once!). DH is loving it though - he agrees with me - doing the single thing most of the time, i need to be well set up so that i don't stress myself out about needing stuff washed and dried NOW - cos i'm likely to throw in the towel and ring mum to get me sposies - if i have extra, i'll be more inclined to persist with it... well, that's our thought! it's worked with everything else in my life - if i don't feel pressured, it all gets done... lol
i swear i got rid of this before!
like you lot need double my waffle!
will Nurofen stain nappies like panadole??
I have an unhappy teething boy :(
WOJB ~ BBB / maz elmo cover
Oh I need a cow suit for mateauz........were were were!!!!!!!
Bugger on losing the cow nappy BG :( dang is all I gotta say
Kat - we cant use Nurofen cause it can cause clotage and thats a big no no for us so cant help you hon
For those who have auriel's...have you guys noticed how much alike the boosters between them and another 'wild'' ;) nappy are alike...hmmmmmmm
WOMB - gosh I cant remember it but its an AIO night nappy..dame it brain is failing
hopefully it will be up again soon Maz and i can see if it's still on there or she has listed similar... it was cute! can't believe i am buying cow stuff lol!
i am over my crying clingy drooling boy!!!! horrible to say i know BUT i have had him ALL day and will have him ALL night hubby still out at the cricket....
I have just put the nappies on to rinse again...couldn't get them out before....need to be an octopus....
WOJB ~ Orange BBB / Maz longneck minky cover
Am going mad ATM anyone want a 7 month old boy?? Im crying now cz he wont go to sleep no matter what I try :wall: Hes screaming and Ive had to leave him in his bed for 5 minutes cz Im hysterical.
Off to try again
WOHB: Snoozywuns
Gosh it must be this time of year or something - the heat down here probably but I have a barnacle boy and girl too - finally got them to bed though! Hooray!
Im washing every day and definitely need to boost my stash ladies now that DH is home! :leap: Hit me with your fav night nappies and day time nappies and covers please! I have 2 BBB and only one Maz cover.
WOJB: Green BumG
It sounds like there's an epidemic at the moment. DD has been rotten all day and I'm terrribly exhausted. Maybe it is the heat that's affecting them all. Now I really want to go to sleep but I also need a little bit of time to relax without having one or both of my children hanging on to me for dear life.
All my nappies are still wet. That's why I like pockets. However at the moment fitteds are better for DS but I only have enough for one day, if you count the prefolds and they don't really fit terribly well anymore. Would it be too much to ask for if I want fitteds that are absorbent, quick drying and have double rows of snaps? I'll have to have a look around. Oh dear, another excuse to buy more nappies.;) If I can find any that suit that is.
Rhyb, you poor woman. I know exactly what you're going through (as do most others here I'm sure). Big hugs for you and don't feel bad about having to take the time to calm yourself down.
Well, aren't I a silly billy. I'm going to Pookey Pockets next week, they should have what I need.
*hand up* for feral child day.... Groan!
Sorry girls I'm not around much atm. I have mum visiting still... and its... not easy. I'm reading but have no energy to post.
Love yas!
WOHB: something... I was hiding in my room when she was changed for bed.
ummm, I just gave up and handed screaming child to DP and wandered calmly into the kitchen and got the big box of triple choc cookies. Everything's wonderful now! I suddenly realised why my grandmother used to hit the cooking sherry...
Tan - fave daytime nappy, well, I like Berry Plush and Blueberries. BumGs are what I have lots of, tho, but they are getting up my nose a bit. But that's probably just a combination of other things like teething and crawling on dodgy 1950's lino making them a bit stinky and tatty. And I'm cranky.
NN - Wild Child and Sandman are ace. I got a GNST too, which is good but it's getting too small for DS already. It's only been a couple of months! He's a biggun.
Covers - maz-a-licious! and I have a couple of tots bots fleece for when the maz covers are in the wash. And longies. PUL covers I like are the Bummis SuperBrights and Thirsties gusseted ones. I couldn't afford a motherease one, tho everyone that uses them says they're great. Oh, and the Berry Plush - use them as covers too!
rhyb - good luck hun!
Eugenia - ooh, that's a question for Gigi, for sure. I can only think of double chocolate chips for now, so it's back to my cookies...
g'night all!
WOHB: wild child and maz pot of gold cover. It really is the cutest thing ever (when he's asleep!).
well after 2 and abit hours of screaming, me putting him down and leaving him coz i was just soo frustrated, he drank 1/2 his feed fell asleep, and is in bed, has been since just after 9, i have re-settled twice, been in tears once (while hewas screaming) i am over it!!! all day with him and NO break!!!!!
I have finally gotten the load of nappies on the clothes horse after they have been washed today (earlier) and re-rinsed...
I didn't even get to change his bum before as he fell asleep and i was too scared he would start another 2hr marathon of screaming...
WOJB ~ BBB / Longneck Maz minky cover
Well I went to Target this arvo and spent a fair bit on some pink clothes. She has lots of pink singlets so the nice blue nappies we have don't have to be hidden away. I also bought some linen for the bassinette. Were are about 90% sure that she is our last bub so I am going to go all out and buy mostly pink stuff nappy wise, because I don't have to think about whether I have a boy in the future, coz if we do, it will be at least 3 years before I even THINK about getting UTD again.
I asked DH earlier whether we should do terry flats for tar poo or sposies, He said sposies  Would a liner stop the tar from staining the nappies?
DH has gastro :( I am staying away from him!!! I had gastro while I was pg with Em, NEVER AGAIN!!!!
The MooGoo is devine!!! Smells delicious!!! I was reading the ingredients and it says milk protein, so it might be lactose free cos the protein is different from the sugars. I dont want her to eat it anyway but YKWIM. They threw in a sample of the soap, so DH will use that for a while and we will see if that clears his excema.
WOEB: Blue dot minky CT.
WOSB: Dorothy night nappy.
OK, LS location question.
Here is my house plan.
Bub will be in bedroom 2, next to laundry.
This is about equidistant from the ensuite and the kids bathroom - which one do I put it in?
Ray I would do the ensuite, Just so you are not turning heaps!
Our's is in the kids bathroom at the back of the house, right next to the laundry, and the change table is next to our bedroom, but there is a nappy bucket between the toilet and the laundry, and one next to the change table. I just deal with pooey ones after the girls have gotten changed and run off to play.
Where would the change table be Ray, providing you use one? If its in bub's room then Id put it in the kids bath, only because its right near both the laundry and the bub's bedroom.
Plus my Dh wouldnt want stink nappies anywhere near our room lol. Lucky for us the kids bath is right next to our laundry AND their rooms.
i saw much cheaper raw silk liners at "daddledoo nappies" on the wahmnaps site.
can't work out if they are cheaper cos they are single layer, maybe the dearer ones are double layer? unsure.
Eugenia - what is your babies body shape and kilos?
the quickest drying mcn have few layers and involve trifolds, so we need to find you a fitted that fits that description.
many ai2's that fit that description - how old is your bub again?
if your bub is in pockets (with successful pootainment), i assume little chicken legs is no longer an issue?
i'm so tired, i just read three pages i think, i'm unsure who said wot!
ALI - congrats on your XX - i thought you would have already been drowning in pink from already having two girls - or did you ditch all that nb pink cos you were sure you were having an XY? always fun to nest heh? woot to you!
wotbb: kester kovers aio and huggalugs to keep the mozzies at bay! warm but she's getting eaten alive by damm mozzies.
another afternoon in knickers today, she held on the whole time LOL.
i've just been chatting with a lovely person who is having a bub next Wednesday, feeling so clucky i could burst!! her mcn order (for nb stuff) went missing and she was having a meltdown, poor love.
CHristie - we miss you chicky babe!
Maz - you have been uber busy! (like that's a new thing!!! LOL).
Once you've little squirted the nappies, you flush the poo, so no poo stink in the nappy bucket, cos it goes down the pipes to the sewage system. Lid is on bucket, so no wee ammonia until you take the lid off. (esp when bubs is teething - phew, the ammonia smell!).
the nappy bucket fills up with wet nappies, but not poop (thank goodness).
Oh but he'd "smell" poop nappies, he's a bit of a wussy boy sometimes when it comes to smells. Should see how fast he runs from a cloth poo-splosion  ;)
Gigi - I have just washed the tiny pink and some of it is stained, so I am going through and soaking and whatever can't be cleaned properly will become a shed rag for DH. Also stuff that is overstretched. Some of it has been through 4 other little girls though so I would like Leah to have some of her own nice new stuff.
I might wait a couple of weeks before I go nuts on nappies though, Bill week is approaching.
Well it's 7am and I've just finished expressing some milk. We're going to the movies tonight and leaving the children with PIL, we're going to a late session so DH and I can do the usual bedtime routine and leave them both asleep but I'm leaving some milk for Nathaniel just in case. BTW he slept for 8 hours last night. Woo hoo, what a clever boy.
Oh no, I can smell poo, in her WC night nappy! Be back soon.
woohoo eugenia, what movie u planning to watch?
sorry nothing nappy related yet. Whilst dealing with my grizzly DS this morning, i came up with an ingenious idea (at least i thought so) :) better get posting on it before i think its the worst thing i can come up with LOL
Time for a new thread HERE
