Not at the mo Maz.... Jovie dear has decided that the loo is the pit of the devil.... she screamed blue murder. Its on the cards, but not until she stops screaming at the loo or the potty.
Tk - I'll try to help
What does OOAK mean? One of a Kind
- Terryflats/prefolds - will I have to fold nappies like my mum did with me or are the prefolds called so because they are already folded (or moulded)? If I have to fold ? how on earth/where on earth can I be taught this? If they don?t require folding what will I have to do with them? There is a site - nappy lady - google it, will tell you everything.
- What is the difference between cloth and MCN or is it just different names for the same thing? Same thing. Just MCN is Modern Cloth - not like the old style.
- What will each nappy require ? I see talk of inserts and covers ? are these separate or sold as the set? Usually sold separately and people mix and match their fitteds and covers. If in doubt - ask here.
- Will I require a separate washing machine for the nappies? Or can I just use my current one? Will it affect my clothes at all? Nope won't affect your clothes.

BG- thinking of you hunny!!! Hope those fires dont get any closer.. Look after yourself babe
BG hope all is OK and you guys are somewhere safe.
I got 2 bags of fluffy mail today, yippee! Too much to list :)
i'm safe ladies - DH and my bro - not so sure
DH insisted on packing some nappies for me to take just in case! how cute!
i am sure they will be fine, they'll leave if they're not convinced they are safe.
Sorry to hear things are a little at risk BG, I hope you and your family stay safe.
Nappy related... Ty's bottom is starting to look like it's almost ready for MCN's again. Yay. I'm so sad that all my nappies are clean, sorted and stacked and they're not being used. Ty was running around the house in just a nappy today and it was so sad that he was in a sposie. It looked so ugly. How strange is that? We've only been in MCNs for about a week or two and I already hate sposies. At least they've been good whilst his tummy's been full of germs (well they have apart from the one major blowout we had yesterday TMI! I was bad!)
I'm was popping in to have a whinge about all this rain but i think all you southern gals might beat me up :lol: Hope you're all surviving.
BG - hope the fires stay away
Alrighty I'm finally going to list this stash of nappies that HAS TO GO! Just give me a pm letting me know what you would like. I can let you know how much postage is but would prefer to stick to pre-paid satchels as I have a serious aversion to post offices after having to live in one while running TNB :rolleyes:
Used means has been used by DD, they are clean, sanatised and without stains. Most of them are nappies we tested out while running the store and don't suit Ari but might suit others
Demo - means they have been used to demonstrate to customers so they might have been washed (seperate from my nappies) or they might have some surface dust/lint from being moved all over t'ville
If you would like specifics on condition/type of nappy etc pm me
ALL nappies include inserts unless otherwise stated
USED/DEMO (can't remeber) - grape wool cover sz S from Stacinator
USED - sugarpeas fitted hemp fleece not sure what size 1 or 2 checking up for you
USED imse vimse swim nappy - 9-12kg pink flowers
boy oh boy
45 degrees yesterday
i magic taped metres and metres of alfoil to the windows without blinds on them, it did help but house still feels like their is an oven on in every room.
power outage for hours last night
44 today
two more power outages this afternoon, i put bilby and me in a bath tub of cold water.
our a/c makes the back living area about 10 degrees cooler than it is outside, so outside is 44 - inside is 34. I went shopping at 8pm, and it was still over 40 outside.
i don't know how people cope without a/c in this heat, i feel so lucky to have it. bilby has wanted to breastfeed so much during this heatwave, it's like having a hot water bottle on me, but at least she's keeping well hydrated (along with the water bottles she is constantly offered).
bilby was in knickers for about four hours this afternoon, dry. I put her in the highchair (with towel under her) for her dinner and immed she pee-ed.
introduced bribery tonight, "if you do anythign in the potty, you get a baby icecream cone" and she was VERY keen on that. it's the first time she's voluntarily sat on the potty for any length of time, reading books. but unfortunately, no cigar. i think she's mainly sweating it all out.
Saram, thanks for the fluffy mail! Yes, i am mighty jealous of your rain! send it this way hon!
ok, i came in the computer room to do my net stuff, but this one post, i am sweating galore, no more computer for me today, off to have a cold rinse in the shower, wrap myself in a wet sarong and stand in front of a/c for a bit.
dh is booking flights to melb for sat i think, we'll be hiring a car from airport i think (becasuse of cost of taxi fare from airport to box hill would be over $100 one way) and staying in a motel he found online, near box hill, cos the hosp his mum has been in since mid Dec, is at box hill, his mum had emergency surgery today (her 3rd surgery in two months) and we have to go see her quickly. i dunno, he's been online most of tonight, searching for air/accom/car deals etc. it's all still up in the air, but i THINK we are going.
if anyone knows how CASUAL users of melb toll ways, can register, so you can drive there, pay your tolls as a tourist and not get fines, please email me on g.j@internode.on.net - dh is fretting about this, i told him to just ask the hire car company, i am sure he is not the first tourist to ask about this. men!

Go to the citylink website and you can see a section for day passes...you can either ring on a free number and get one or some newsagents/other authorised outlets sell them...you won't be able to do it till you have the hire car as it needs to be linked to rego number as that how it scans as you pass under a checkpoint. but you can have the info ready to put in place whenyou get there! i would imagine the hire centre at the airport would be able to give/sell you one as you will hit citylink as you come back into the city froom the airport...makes sense to me that they would have some provision for this....does that make sense? too hot!!!!!!
Fromthe website:
You can purchase CityLink Passes:
* here on the CityLink website - to purchase a pass, click here;
* over the counter at Victorian Australia Post outlets;
* at selected newsagencies using the Touch over-the-counter payment systems; or
* by calling 13 26 29.
To travel on CityLink we suggest that you arrange for your travel on CityLink prior to travelling.
CityLink has a number of passes to help you get around and enjoy Melbourne. Each pass can be purchased up to midnight three days after travel.
So you can buy the pass after you have travelled within the three day thing if that helps espesh as you need the rego number...
