I have about 40 bbb, 30 magicalls, 12 itti bittis & about 12 covers for Emily. Yes, I love my baby beehinds
For Nina, I have 6 bbb & 4 covers.
For newborn stage (yes I'm keeping them just in case ;)) I have 7 covers & 5 various newborn nappies.
anna - I only use Maz's covers over bbb at night for both girls. Love them. I've tried wool covers, but it didn't work for us. Great that you had no leaks. Goodbye to sposies, hello mcn full time!

there's a sandman on Buy for baby atm...its not in the usual section...its in the cloth mama's section
you win Jodi
Rhoda - my hardware has them babe
-
:leap: Do I win something??? :p Maybe cause I won soooo many baby beehinds they should give me free stuff, what do you reckon?!?! Me think it sounds like a good plan.
-
Oh Maz your naughty! I'll leave that sandman for someone else though since I already have one coming.
Mel, shame on you - you've made me feel like I should be going to a support group or something ;)
I do/will have 3 in nappies though so I feel my large # is justified hahahahaha Can I say I would be mightily po'ed if Jett suddenly TT's now...........
There is only ONE nappy on my hit list that I have yet to add in my stash...........the ever elusive WC bling. Hopefully I'll get a chance to snap one up before all 3 boys are TT'ed.
ETA - :hide: ok so that # should read 78 now, 2 Swaddlebee's side snappers have been added to the stash........

When I have just done a load and finished stalking the postie I will do a count. Considering I have done a LOT of nappy buying this week that could be a fair few
TK - WooHoo Hun!!!! SO good to see you here!!! I started off by buying 1 or 2 of lots of brands until I found out the style that suits my girls the best. Then I figured out a way to get them cheaper ;) And I just keep buying!!! My suggestion is to get a few of the brands you see regularly popping up in our posts, and then when bubs is born get more of what they suit. So few while you are pg and a heap later. And learn how to fold a terry flat so that you can have a bit of breathing space washing wise when you dont have a full stash!!
Well the postie has just been, so I better check the letterbox (Finally Dry) before it starts raining again!!

Sorry Anna.. I'll rephrase it -
OMG Jodi!!!!!
LOL
Well heck - now I don't feel bad at all!!!
-
woot AnnaT on the night nappy success.
i used night nappies the very first day that bilby was in cloth, but i was so sleep deprived, and doing everything like a robot, i prolly didn't even register "night" as distinct from "day" - just keep changing nappies!
welcome tk! maz and everyone else has given you great advice. i started researching modern cloth nappies (MCN's) from when i was three months preg. TRIED not to buy anythign much, until baby arrived (as i was advised to do) but the nesting instinct got the better of me!
and after getting some pretties, after one week of nappying a nb, i ended up going full circle, back to what i had been advised to do, but thought i would never do - the prefolds and the leg gusset covers. WHy did i change my mind? i had a full range of nappy styles to try out on bubs, but EVERYTHING leaked poo and wee allover me and the furniture EXCEPT the prefolds and nb covers with leg gussets. they look the most boring, they are the most simple, but for PooTainment - brilliant!
and of course, Miss tiny chicken legs did grow up, and yes, i did get to be able to put the pretty nappies on her, later on, like 6kg and over. And she has plateaued in the middle weight range for well over a year, so we're enjoying those same nappies now. i was just so impatient at the start! LOL.
now i want it all to slow down, cos we've started TT-ing and i'm already thinking how much i will miss her cute little mcn'd butt! well BIG butt, but you know wot i mean.
nappying a newborn is quite different to the rest of the stages.
plenty of newbie info to read at ozclothnappies esp click on the FAQ link (freq asked questions)
getting to decipher the jargon of mcn is your first step
like any area, there are abbreviations and shortcuts to talking about mcn, you'll get the hang of it soon enough
it helps you make buying decisions if you know the lingo first, to know WHAT you're buying
also nappycino is a very helpful MCN advocacy adn info site
read their Ages N Stages section "nappying the newborn" for example.
you won't learn it all overnight, it does take time, but don't worry, we'll all help you
there IS alot to it, but it's manageable, cos there are so many of us online to help out newbies, like we were helped out ourselves, when we began. it's just a big circle.
wotbb: swaddlebees PUL pocket with organic velour inner
PUL is a waterproof fabric, used as the outer for pocket and aio nappies.
aio is ALL IN ONE
a pocket nappy, you stuff with an absorbent insert
both of them - just one thing to put on baby
-
fluffy mail!
2hemp jamotots
a twinklelilly (gosh i LOVE these desinaps, great fit great absorbency)
a "pop in" nappy... looks much better IRL than in the pics, cant wait to see how it wash and wears
i wont do a nappy count......... a bit like mel i'll freak at how much i have spent LOL
gigi - the lovelybums - couldnt find any instocks of the type you mentioned, only saw them at nurture nappies and they only had nb/small, but have put soem of their sherpa ones on layby at darlingsdownunder
yesterday we went to the colo river and my mcns made quite an impression (especially the bling! makes me want more bling... but i think i wil wait... i thinkkkkkk)
tk - go for prefolds and fitteds for the early days, best things as i trialled pretty much everything on Matisse
WOHB - swaddlebees onesize OV fitted/bb wool cover

speaking of working out how much one has spent on their stash...
hubby saw all of Jacks minky covers..and asked how much roughly they are each...he started guessing and i'm saying 'higher...' he got to the said amount and then afew seconds later...says.."f%^& you've spent that much??" and just laughed it off...
I have sent the nappy sprayer back today...so am awaiting on my refund...and i have found a LS for a great price :D

Anna - I reckon Nelle would win myself ;)

mel i got a 'cheaper' nappy sprayer from an aussie company..BUT it is a yank sprayer..and it won't connect to our dunny!!!! she said she had found a connecting part BUT it will take 2 motnhs to get her...ummmm i want to use the darn thing now!!!!so have sent back getting full refund.
nappies are on to wash..as it has stopped raining :) although they will be inside on the clothes horse to dry....
