Ali - didnt know about the morning tea, are you going? I might come cause I drop Jett at care from 10am so dont have to worry about him embarrassing me lol Whats the nappy related biz for the Bc (pm me and tell me the goss!)
Maz - pming you too.
I washed and dried a huge load of nappies only to have a storm roll up 5 bloody min later :wall:
NaNa - wow, self toilet trainign at nine months! far out! that's advanced!!! did you initiate any EC-ing with him, or is this all his idea?
Teru - good luck for your exam
Beatrix - hope your stomach is feeling better now
Kitten - i also saw very reasonably priced raw silk liners at Daddle doo nappies (on the wahmnaps site).
Queen - hope the bamboo velour gives the desired result for punky, fingers crossed.
artstudent - all in one nappies vary a bit.
the TRUE all in ones, all the absorbent material is sewn inside, so you don't see it, these take longer to dry.
the OTHER all in ones, the absorbent material is in booster pads that are snapped in the inner of the nappy, so separate things to dry - and then you re-assemble it when they're dry. so a bit fiddlier, but they dry faster.
we could give you our opinions if you said what brand of nappy your dh bought you. cos odds are, that there will be people on this thread who have or are using those same nappies on their bubs, and can give you their experiences/opinions.
the fastest drying options for someone without a drier, in winter (for a newborn i'm guessing???) are prefolds and covers.
aio's don't suit 100% of nbs first off, cos of the runny poo stage and the skinny legs. but you really don't know, one way or the other UNTIL your bub arrives, and you try out the nappies on them. that's why it's good to have a range of nappy styles to try on your bub, JIC one style doesn't suit. Once you work out what suits them, THEN go out and buy heaps (of the style that suits your bub).
it's hard when you're nesting, and you're SO KEEN to buy the nappies NOW and have it all waiting for your nb. we've all been there hon.
LOL it was hubby that bought the nappies...hehehe I have zero nesting instinct yet...I want to keep my office!
gigi, thanks - ll80 let me know about that too, i bought 13 (seemed cheaper than buying the material, postage, paying to have overlocked. postage back!) so now we are set for silk liners (20 all up). I really do love them, and if i look after them they shoudl cost cheaper/the same in the long run as $$ creams.....
waiing on a few fluffy items here - some WC, genesa forge, dragonfly magik and my wins from b4b................
have now pre washed my mediums ittis and magicalls, my lil chubber fit them nicely (well the magikalls are just a wee bit roomy around the legs, but i thought i'd prewash them all at once).... as she is on the last snap of the small itti's i thought i better give the bigger ones a few pre washes.... she is 5.5kgs but a realy chubster.......
wohb - asleep for the night so its silk liner/bbb/loveybums wool pull up cover
Ray I find that going UP a size in clothes that are all in ones like wondersuits and also going UP a size in pants helps with fitting over a cloth bum, especially a flat clothie bum. When you get onto MCN however, no need cos some baby legs and a cute top that match the nappy are all you need!
Kitten I want to see photos of your chubster!
Yeah that's what I used to say too but this last teething episode with the dymadon has turned all my ittis grey :(:(:(
Has everyone seen the new Bonds babylegs?? They are soooo cute!! Big W or Kmart have them on sale this week, can't remember which.

WOJB ~ mottled purple rumparooz
Gigi - I did a bit of reading on the Tribal Baby website and got some EC tips for DS, but never really followed thru with much. I'm a bit slack in that regards (and I like MCN just a bit ;) ), but I showed him the potty, put him on it a few times with a nappy on just to get him used to it, left it in the room etc. Then I started showing it to him and getting him to pat it and acknowledge it after naps, and putting him on it. At first, he peed and pooped and I thought, oh it's just timing. But I occasionally pointed it out to him during the day, and patted it and said "potty" and a few other french words he recognises (multi-lingual household!) and within a couple of days he was crawling over to it and patting it and making 'puh' sounds, so I put him on it. We get a 'result' every time! He sits and laughs and "reads" his cloth books, and then poops and laughs some more. It's hilarious. I've only managed to get him on it in time for wees twice, but he hasn't pooped in a nappy for a week now. I guess the signs are there, but they're a bit more subtle at this stage for when he needs to wee. But he has really started complaining when he has a wet nappy, to the point where he woke up and screamed every three hours last night because he'd soaked thru his night nappy! soooo tired today...
WOHB: black HH. We're going out soon!
fluffy mail! dragonfly magik, and they look FAB!!!!!!!! cant wait to get it on her butt!
lea - yeah she is a chubber, not really all that long so its all chub..... on the largest snaps of her small itti's and nicely fits into the meds, which i have just prewashed and because she is in between smalls/meds it looks like i have sooooo many nappies!!
