I wish melbourne had a Union team :(
OK so I looked on the GF site, and theres a 6 pack listed as "daycare nappies" ? Whats the difference between that and regular ones for home - is it just that they are plain and no-fuss?
lol Rayray..i am a kiwi...so union is in my blood :D
and hubby says it is the game played in heaven....i keep telling him he should let go of his old fella...hehehe
i can't wait for this nappy to arrive...then hubby will want to change Jacks bum!!!! mmmmaaaawwwwaaahahahaha
Oh now Cheeky youve got me all upset because I dont remember who you are. Give me a hint?! Ive met alot of people since we moved here, some Id soon forget and some I havent seen regularly.
Im pretty sure Maz is stocking end of March again - that right Maz? Im stalking her night nappies for River lol
Ray - I *think* the GF daycare nappies are a specific colour and just a basic nappy, sort of a just for daycare thingy. I ordered the caterpillar custom AI2 day nappy with all the frills so Im guessing the daycare ones might be a bit plainer/simpler? I use my bumGs for daycare because a) I dont really like them and b) they are pretty self explanitory in the usage department. If they get ruined by any chance I wouldnt be heartbroken, my Itti's or Iishfly's though, now I would be broken and wailing if they did
Am I the only one who's DS doesn't require night nappies? He's 18 months and lucky to have one small wee in his nappy in the morning if anything at all.
I was thinking of getting sandmans as you all rave about them, but thought to myself it seems silly if he barely wets at night. *fingers crossed* he stays that way?
Anna, my name is Ashleigh. We met at MM a while ago. DS is Phoenix.
go out for a day and so much to catch up on LOL
I'm pretty impressed with WC's Elise had one on for three hours on the way home from dropping DH off at the airport, got home and thought no I won't change her cause we hadn't had a poo yet and wanted to see if it would hold it in when it was already wet.
IT DID!! nappy was completely wet and held a pretty good pooplosion, she's on the tightest setting M/L lol you can't make it any tighter, I thought might be a bit loose to hold in the poo but it wasn't.
Kitten those GF sound pretty!!
Maz hope your little man feels better soon.
crying bub BBL
I got Fluffy mail
From Robyn at possum pouches/ceejay nappies.
I feel a bit bad though, soooo much stuff for sooo little money. 6 nappies, 1 knitted soaker, 3 boosters and 3 wipes and a wet bag all for $60 and she didnt even charge me for postage. I know she says she does it to encourage mums to use cloth but I dont even know if she could cover expenses for that sort of money. Feel a bit guilty really
Might put a little more in her acc
Think my WC night nappy and bling have arrived at my old house, will go back and look on friday. Hope so
Then its no more bloody nappies till barge a*se gets out from under my ribs. Swear to god he was using one as a trampoline last night:boohoo:
Well ladies, im sad to say i've only got 1 bum in cloth in my house now :(
Shelby has finally decided that the toilet is alot better than nappies which is bitter sweet i guess :(
Maybe i should buy seb a new nappy to make myself feel better
Hope you're all well xoxo
ali - did you see my post about the wipes and childcare?
Today bilby was in a creche while i was at community craft morning, and the creche lady changed her, and put the USED nappy, back in the pocket for the clean nappies, not in the wetbag. So after craft, bilby needed a change, and i, unknowingly, put the USED nappy on bilby, not knowing it was not a clean one (cos it looked clean). I was so distracted by bilby squealing, wriggling etc, i didn't even notice the extra weight of it (wet insert).
but i thought, there is no used nappy in the wetbag, and i'd just been told "she has had one change during creche" so i thought - oh no, has the creche lady THROWN OUT our lovely minky pocket nappy thinking it is a sposie?!!!
went back to ask, she explained she didn't know of a wetbag, and we discovered, yes, she had put used nappy in the "clean nappies" section, so that mystery solved.
i was so relieved she hadn't thrown the minky pocket in the bin or something. Yes, bilby had ANOTHER change, this time into a new mcn, she was not best pleased about that.
bilby did her first wee in the toilet at childcare yesterday, she wouldn't do it for her primary care giver, but she waited until i came to collect her, and asked me to come with her to do it. We spent one hour in total (doing pickup) by the time bilby had had a snack, breastfed (complete with all the toddlers who stand and ask a gazillion questions, shown me the little loos, experimented with door and the locks, "DOOR DOOR" and had three times told me she wanted to BEE BEE (It sure is a new challenge, putting nappies on and off her, standing up! ), all the running away when i want to put on her shoes, anything i ask really, results in whining, squealing.
then crying all the way home, cos i had no more snacks for her. one hour and 20 mins and i was ready to give her away. 20 mins of crying when we got home, dh walked in the door, and she had stopped crying 30 seconds before that.
monkey fabric you say maz? how many metres did you get? ooo ahhh ahhh as bilby says (ten gazillion times a day at the top of her lungs!!). i'd love to see a pic (when you have one, IF you take any).
Katones, i love the look of those Ffluffy bubs too, if i had another bub, who suited front snaps, i would def get that one. sniff.
about the monkey doodles, from what i read of the product description, the absorbency layers of that nappy (an AIO, right?) is microfibre. So if the number of layers of microfibre isn't enough absorption for your bub, then i guess the nappy wouldn't suit. i'm guessing they would be a terrific nappy for a light wetter.
a number of aio's use three or four layers of microfibre for absorbency - that suits some bubs but not all.
i found using microfibre for boosting the inside of a nappy, could be rather bulky too, as Arimeh said, causing the gaping. I'd rather use less fabric and more absorbent fabric e.g a bamboo booster instead.
when we used microfibre, i preferred to use it as a pocket insert, like a carcloth folded like a prefold, inside a pocket. it seemed less bulky, and i didn't have to worry about gaping. but then bilby started outwetting it, but early on, it was useful (to have microfibre cloths on hand). 5 for $12 in the car washing cloth section at big w. all depends on your child's wetting style.
awwwww Kel
Gigi - I did see that, but we are also looking into FDC ATM, so I am just sending them there until the bill is paid off and then changing. If Em gets rashy I will see if they can as part of rash management considering they ask me to provide a cream that is ok for her nappies.
I suppose I should get some housework done but I am rather sore today. I do need to do a nappy load and some dishes, and will try to clear the couches but right now I think getting dressed and collecting the mail is a big enough task!!
I remember you Cheeky Monkey, welcome to BB and the world of MCNs :)
Really should wash all my fitteds for bub again a couple times before he's born but its still crap weather here so Id have to dry them in the dryer, would that be really bad? They are just BBH and ClothdUp fitteds.
They SUCK (the nappy not the booster)! I had them when Ash was a newborn, he was a very light wetter but they STILL leaked every time :( I ended up selling it I was so sick of having to change his clothes after half an hour!
That's what I would have picked too!
Well I just had some interest in the tassie girls thread from a lady expecting twins so lets hope I didn't overload her with my info packed PM
Today I went shopping with Ash because the boys are in family day care Wednesdays, and I got soooo many compliments about Ashtons nappy :) He was wearing an orange minky pheonix embroidered WC daydreamer. I even had a DAD stop and ask to pat his bum  I sort of giggled... he was cute too
Drier is fine hun as long as it's not constantly and only on warm :)
looks like i am getting my Fluffy bubs custom sooner than expected :D woot woot!!!!
kitt3n did you win that rump-a-rooz on b4b??
WOJB ~ Purple mottled rumparooz
GF nappies .... i have 2 , one girraffe minky AI2 that i Never use and one all fleece nappy that gets used alot .. i dont use the minky one as it makes a noise when you move a round the PUL , making it a bit stiff ... kinda like laminated PUL , not sandwich PUL .. i prefer sandwich PUL .. JMO ..
its sitting in my basket , not being used for me (nothing wrong with the nappy AT ALL ) but for me it just didnt gel. where as the pink 200wt baum fleece butterfly one gets worn all the time , if i were to buy another GF nappy i would get fleece lined minky ..
and WR Wild Childs.. i feel a bit sad about the fact that all my WC ever does is leak :( i got jealous when one said hers didnt ... *sniff*
Oooh, I am liking the sound of these GFs.... oooh, just had a look, they look mighty fine.... hmmmmm.....
WOPB: No idea, DP has been home with her all day!!
Elise and her Maz cover
I like this one so much more than I thought I would!!
Phew ok if Mel would get minky/fleece lined then I made the right choice  I was terrified all the long-timers would say NO! MM fleece and PUL...............and I was going to have to do some serious emailing heh.
Going to try try try not to buy anymore GF nappies for awhile, its soooooooooo hard to resist though! I want a Bumblebee one...........and a Maz pot o' gold cover..........and Maz night nappies.............and another Iishfly for Ds2...........wahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I need a job
Lea my WC doesn't ever leak. Is the booster really wet or is it a leak from something else?
AnnaT I am not really a longtimer  only been cloth nappying since Ashton was born lol
5mths is a long timer to me whose been doing it for all of 5min lol You know what your talking about lovey, I value your advice!
Thanks Anna - Just don't believe everything you hear about me ;)
You girls are making me want a GF, but there's such a long wait. Probably even longer with all of you now ordering haha
I'm still making DS home made nappies which he loves, whenever I tell him it's time to change his nappy he goes and picks one of his favourites for me
Do any of you (of course Maz does) make nappies at home in addition to your bought ones? I find myself wanting to customize nappies online more than they allow hehe.
Cheeky - Only if you pretend not to believe everything you hear about me  Maz can vouch for me, Im erm................normal, right Maz ;)
Cheeky - I am waiting for a snap press to be available at greenbeans and will probably order some fabric while I am at it. But at the moment my priority is making PP pads and building my pad stash, seeing as I have a fair few nappies now. I might experiment with some nappies while I am at it, but they will not be as high on my list of things to try. I also need an overlocker and maybe a new sewing machine (mine wont sew more than 2 layers at a time )
Ali, are you still interested in an Aldi overlocker? Someone else here said they were not so flash, did you read that? Can still help you out if you needs ;)
:dunno: the booster seems OK , its the PUL shell that leaks like crazy , i have changed the booster and it wicked but didnt leak like it does with the WC booster in ..i have put it in the dryer on medium , just to "seal" the PUL and its done nuffin :( , i dont use cream , and i use v little washing liquid (nutural instincs washing liquid) so im not sure.
anyways ..
all these laydeez getting fluff .. im so jealous .. i have absolutley no cash for any nappies .. and i think ive just about tried them all
Shell - Because I am going to be using expensive fabrics like bamboo, I would rather not risk it!! Thanks anyway hun!
hello. DH left Pip's wetbag @ CC yesterday, it's a bit whiffy! Doh!
ll80 - the covers look great on her!
Maz - materials sound lovely.
I so want an overlocker, and for DH to remove all the crud off my sewing table!
WoHB - GK turtles. Soon to be snoozywun.
 actually CM I dont make any for my kids......VY had like 3 of my covers but I made sure that Mateauz had at least 10 lol...
Anna if your normal what the hell does that make me
Lea maybe the cut of the WC doesnt suit babe....we get leakage big time....have put a tri fold in and that helps a bit..the fit is really good on a chunky bub
ahh i feel blah!!!!!!!!! tandori chicken isnt agreeing with me tonight
WOMB - MIrabai night nappy and Mazalicious cheetah cover
WOVB - fuscia delish:p
OH mine are all minky! That might be the difference. Did you buy it new hun? I would be emailing Michelle. You never know, might be a badly made one, it does happen. I brought 3 nappies from s WAHM, they are so hard to get, and I ended up with 1 that was wonderful, 1 that wicked sometimes and 1 that was useless, it's being used as a fitted :( I did contact her, she told me to send it back but I never bothered.
Yup Ash is chunky alright haha Hope your feeling better hun :( We had mango chicken tonight :)
Nappy news... hmmm... well I ended up selling 26 nappies so now I am on the hunt for more haha
oh I know! I am bidding on a Auriel Munch Crunch to match Ashtons Munch Crunch tee we won from Lesley :D
Grr what is it with this site going down all the time :( I am getting really frustrated with loosing my posts!
fluffy bubs custom is in the making now :D
WOJB ~ BBB / boy blue maz a licious
the more i look at my gfs the more i want more... going to get rid of my snap in d'lsihes and magikalls i think to make way for some more customs. I must say, GF is the best fit on little laaa so far, followed by DFM.
But i find that i cant have her in an AI2 for more than 2 wears - she has to have at least one natural nappy in between.
i have ordered them (so far!!) all PUL lined - what is better about fleece lined?
I can only guess Kitten but fleece breathes, pul doesn't ;)
really? i thought thats why PUL is used now instead of PVC (and the other health risks of PVC!) but I thought PUL did breathe?
THe fleece isnt more likely to leak?
sorry I should have been more clear.
Fleece breathes MORE then pul :)
I haven't had a leak with fleece.
thanks hun.... so the maidel mills is good huh?
i dont even want to wait to order more, but i have to $$$$$ :(
scored a cople of lotus nights though, happy about that!!
eta - yes kat i did score the rumparoo, but mainly becuase i really wanted the abby gro (same seller) and wasnt going to waste postage on just one nappy (shich i paid almost full price for!)
Kitt3n - abby gros are my FAV nappy! what kind/colour did you get? I like fleece nappies over PUL, all of my abby's are fleece and fleece or fleece with minky and very rarely do we have any seepage and if so it's after a LOT of liquid.
After all the GF talk I thought I might pick one up for SIL - but what a shame I bought a large soooo Miss Ari might have to wear it for a couple of months until we have this toileting thing licked :-) Also grabbed some of the nappy knickers, as she has outgrown her other trainers. Darn it I said I wasn't going to buy anymore
WC - are you talking about the daydreamers? I always had problems with mine too but assumed it was just me? Maybe give it a really good run through the dryer or contact is it Michelle at WC? I'm sure she would be able to help.
Ali - if you need to use a snap press I'm sure Sam would let you pop over and snap away if you bring your own snaps.
millie has worn her first MCN!!! so far have used small bubblebubs, FJ fittted and a kissaluv!!
no leaks yet either
