its so hard these days to find stuff that we like that isnt made in china ! and i love bonds too ! but i always have to up size when buying them my sz 12 butt has to wear a 14 or 16 to be comfy in bonds knickers !! :lol::
I love BBH's and IB's...their both made Over sea's and can understand why. I odnt work fulltime other then looking after the kiddies and I find it hard to keep up some days.
I say nothing more about fitted's ....:la la:

To be honest, I never even think about where things are made :redface: I just go for good quality and reasonably affordable prices, whatever makes my life easier, because with THREE kids under 2.5 I need easy. One day I wont be so selfish :) :lol:

I believe it when Davina and Sue say their nappies are ethically made. Reputation is everything and if some got wind that they were made in a sweatshop it would be detrimental to them.

Wow, sorry ladies I didn't mean to cause such a stir.
I don't have anything against things being made in china, it's just my preference when it comes to MCN.
If I didn't buy anything made in china I think my house, and many others, would be quite bare.
I just want my MCN's to be made here, so nothing against those that outsource to china - it's just not for me in this case.
There looks to be so many good WAHM's which I would prefer to buy from, especially since I am a SAHM and know how much the MCN money would help with their income.
And I didn't say that any of the nappies made in china (or anywhere except australia) were of any less quality, so please do not assume I mean that either. I'm sure the owners of these companies set standards, I don't doubt that.
My comment was made as I got excited about another brand to look up, then realised they were made in china. It wasn't dissing them at all.
My criteria of being australian made is like you wanting bamboo over hemp or natural over synthetic. Simply that.

bags... i DID like my BBH one, but not so much anymore, i dont like that the zip is on the side, the bag tends to flop and let things out instead of being able to fill it to its full capacity. I love my leslies boutique ones - you can really stuff em :)

The little less-known brands are probably for you then - ones that are work from home mums, like spunky butts, genesa forge, dragonfly Magik, Widdlewuns, green kids (I think!?) just to name a few.

Just popping in to let you know that I'm still alive and well.
I've been having bad headaches with the pregnancy so have to sort of check out of life now and again as the only thing I can take for them is Panadol or Panadeine and neither of those work for me.
I think I have everything I need for baby #2 as far as nappies are concerned! The addiction is bad as I could just keep buying and buying but I'm trying to control myself!
DS still isn't toilet trained so he is still enjoying all my lovely large and OSFM nappies! I must say though that I would be more than happy to get him day trained at least before the next child arrives. Time will tell!
Not much else to report... I hope everyone is well and now that I'm back I'll try to pop in here more often!

CM - um, have you considered that even though the MCN you're looking into are made here in Australia, chances are the fabric comes from elsewhere?? Quite possibly China, but not always. And that's not necessarily a bad thing because our climate isn't really suited to growing some things like cotton without pesticides, irrigation and whatever. Some of the best fleece is from USA or Canada, and wool from Europe or NZ. I appreciate your determinedness to use Australian made wherever possible, it's really admirable. I think if sposies and convenience products weren't so dominant in society, there would be far more options, and need for things made and produced here.

There's about 18, all V3, and they're around 6-7 months old, well cared for and in VGC. I just have noooo time!! And I need a fluffy mail fix. It's been too long!

Well i cant get on NC or B4B. BB keeps playing up too. I am supposed to post a heap of nappies I sold but can't get the addresses from my PM box on NC. I have had a **** day yesterday, and today is just as bad. Dave and I split up. . . again. I had to go pick up Jaidan early from school because he fell off the playground and cut his chin and banged his head. I am soooo tired but I know there is stuff to do, where is my motivation to do it? I just need to hang nappies out... not hard... but you think I can pry my fat ass from this chair? NO.
Plus I have a headache from crying :(

anyway - i'm washing nappies again - well, planning to! and i need to start washing some colored stuff. i know GIGI mentioned colors running, so i need to know - are there any nappies that notoriously run? i have a huge mix of colors and materials - just wanting to know if anyone has come across anything that makes a mess so that i don't mess them up before they even get used once!
am going to grab the tub and pull out all the liners and things and wash them together (no color so no chance of dye running!) but i'm just wondering about the outers for things like Itti's, iish flys etc

woot yeah ! i get a fluffy fix today !! a purple nights and some boosters i got 3 MD boosters to boost my LULU's .. as one is QC outer and get wicking even if its not totally saturated ! i love my lu lu s thougs .. but i do with the PUL in them wasnt so fricken noisy/plasticy .. i would LOVE more fleece AIO's but sniff i dont have the cash ,,
must e the week for selling nappies on b4b , i took pics of about 20 nappies im about to get rid of !! argh and theres still more .. im trying to simplify ...
im going for 8-10 Aio's and about 18 fitteds + 3 NN im med and 3 in large and one OSFA .. and 2 NN covers in XL and 4 covers in MED !! that should do me till Gabriella TT's now that my big (currently sick) boy is using the toilets for wees and his pants for poos !!

BG - I don't separate anything and my colours are fine.
The only thing that has run is a pair of dark blue longies - which only affected all the other woolies I had soaking in there at the time. Blue is a nice colour mixed with other colours right? :rolleyes:

will finish rewashing the towels DH washed last weekend (and i thought he dried!) - and then wash some more. have sherpas and stuff in the drier at the moment - trying to defluff them all - sherpas are nice and soft but the fluff is shocking! at least on first wash...

BG, I find with anything that if I am not confident with colourfastness I do a cold wash, and nothing runs.
Gee, I must be lucky cause I just chuck everything in together on about 25-30 degree wash and leave the wash to it. Never had anything run. My stuff is from all over the place - IB, BBH, GF, Bits for Bots, DFM. Fingers crossed it stays that way.
I'm sad today cause the nappy I bought for my g/f's daughter's first birthday - the one I was after heaps of suggestions from - has not turned up in time for her party. :( I ordered it last Friday so I though I'd get it midweek, but by today at the latest and it hasn't shown up. I'm so sad. At least I have a purple D'lish that she can wear for her party instead. I don't have many girl colours but have a liking for purple myself so I have a couple of purple nappies her girl can wear. Not the same though. I'm disappointed it's taken so long, but it's my own fault I guess ordering when I did.

The red was red peapods....for some reason they are notorious for running...it was someones peadpod who turned everything including hubby's singlets or something pink...I remember that!!!
I just got a huge.....and I mean HUGE!!!! box of itti bittis by courier....sadly none for moi..all destined to be divvied up and distributed to fire victims who have lost everything.....still tis nice to roll around in a sea of ittis even if they are only visiting!!!
