Morning Ladies
Seems I just missed the stocking - probably a good thing seeing as all my $$ are going into the wedding at the moment and we just paid for the honeymoon/family holiday. (taking DS)
Ali - thank-you for your positive BFP thoughts. I've checked DF's work roster and he'll be off when I need him ;)
Jess - I would suggest just doing something small for her first birthday. She's not going to remember it IYKWIM. I would save my time and energy for at least her 2nd birthday which she will maybe remember but definitely enjoy more.
Are any of you t'ville girls feeling the chill today? I want to go back to bed.
Maz - bummer on being sick. If only mothers could take sick leave hey.
I bought a CT second from Ebay to check out the crotch width on DS before buying some regular ones. How long should it take to arrive? It's still not here and auction ended and payment cleared (paypal) on 1st of May. It's now the 8th and still nothing?
Jess - my thoughts are that first birthdays are a celebration of YOU doing a wonderful job! It's all about you ... she won't remember it (although she'll get some cool pressies) so invite your friends and thank them for their support over the past year!
Hmmm.
Have ordered a pile of trainers from a second-hand nappy site, cleared out the seller of them ;) But they're sorta on layby, I only saw one but was offered the rest ... have to wait until payday next week to finalise the payment!
Maz - get better soon hun!
I WANT MY KRUDDY MONEY! And my tax return - that's going to an overlocker :D
*sighs*
I had the same issue with the hautes, the PUL pulling away from the fabric, i just threw it in a hot dryer for a couple of mins to reseal (same with the tears I made with my nails)
Didn't even know dragonfly magik existed ... i'm not cool *cries*
hmph. Gorgeous nappies always come out when I can't buy :( I cant even get into DH's online banking to pay a big bill, and I have to pay it today (He gave me his passwords and everything and it wont let me in)
Going to experiment today with some scrap fabric and then get DH to prewash the bamboo (Thanks Maz and Gigi - might to lots of dryer so maximum shrinkage is done then air it to get rid of the dryer smell. Going to do at least 3 to be safe.)
WO(cranky)EB: camo cord CT
I got the purple sunset one (the one that was a second)
i didn't care if it was a second cos of the material not quite matching the other side - who cares!! Still work!! Plus its not TOOO girly, and should fit both the kids quite nicely.
Kat - I know a place where that black cat could live quite happily... ;)
that one was pretty nice too... As u said it doesn't really matter that they don't match. hope u get it soon!
I missed out going back to bed cos I was too busy browsing diff stores. Now Monsta is awake, oh wellz
Thanks girls for the info on the Hautes. I think I'll just wait and order some GK's then!! Definitely the minkytimes ;)
WOHB: Pop-in. Duck blue!
Quiet today, where is everyone? Come to think of it this is the most quiet I've ever seen the thread.
No fluffy mail - still waiting for my ebay CT.
Other mail though - My wedding dress is on it's way yayyyyy and DF's wedding ring arrived in the post today.
I'm a bit naughty. I haven't had many nappies to wash as DS has preferred being nudie lately (and using the toilet!) so I've been doing loads of washing with just 3-4 nappies in it. I don't like leaving them in the bucket any longer than 2 days as they get too stinky for my liking. Not very water wise am I...
DF took DS out shopping this morning for my mothers day present. I would have hated to see the state of them arriving home if DS had done a poop - he forgot to take the wetbag.
 I've been naughty. I blame BG and her stash for reminding me I haven't got any iishfly's. (BTW - Wow BG!!) Sooo, I snuck onto their site and they have a LADYBUG nappy - It is not humanly possible to resist that. I did almost buy another design too thought and removed that at the last minute, so that's not so bad is it?
Wish the delivery man didn't come so early all the time, usually before 8:30 just before DH leaves for work so I can't be sneaky.
but it's not MY fault! lol
Ooooh, yes it is, you're a 'visual' enabler.
yep. The worst kind of enabler.
im sick with the flue....what do I expect its mothers day on sunday
I bought Mateauz a littel dolly pram from the oppy today...the ladies there thoguht it was great and even better when I said that his dolly was wearing a cloth bum like him. They were in awe :) that cloth was back 'in'
BBL kids want mama time
Fluffy mail today - woot - a 2 day turnaround from one of our special gals - way to go on the customer service hey!!!
Well, I have done cloth today girls and am feeling abit proud  But now I dont have enough ready for tomorrow and have to wash the CT's I just got
Still slowly but surely ;)
just popping in again with a quick question.
What's the best way to get rid of pilling on longies with out wrecking them?
I got my Mummy n Me nappies today and they are lovely!! Getting some more :)
She is stocking again soon so keep an eye out!
dont tell babe but I use a disposable shaver to ge the pilling off and it makes them look like new
Im starting to get fluffy envy...I WANT MY FRIGGEN LONGIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I won't tell, that's a great idea, thanks Maz.
I'm waiting on two customs from bizy bee, so I will have two longies, 1 flongie 1 mlongie. I think that hsould be enough for this year.
Can't wait for them!!
Hello lovelies!!!
FLUFFY MAIL!!!!!! 2 times! 2 times! My pop in from Mel ...ooh love it! And 2pairs of baby legs And my returned High Tea CT!
I am failry sure that my mummy n me petal party has gotten lost in the post. It was posted on the 29th nearly 2 weeks, it should be here by now! I am very cross with AP!!!!! The second parcel they have lost! Grrrr.
Maz hope you feel better! Its my first Mothers day and DH is leaving tonight for 2 weeks away so I will be not feeling great for it either!
BG that is a very nice stash!!!! Wow! so many pretty ones.
Gotta dash and take DH to the airport :(
what's wrong? where is everyone??
I use the disposable razor on the woolies too... works great.
eej - and anyone else with AP issews... try asking your local post office if they would mind if you had a parcel addressed to them because you seem to be missing some stuff. Tell them when, tho. That way, if you order something, put the delivery address as care of your local p.o and it might get to you! The manager of my local p.o suggested it to me because the parcel delivery guy was a bit dodgy and stuff was going AWOL! Easier than getting a p.o box for just a couple of things.
I got no fluffy news. Nothing even remotely fluffy going on around here except sheepskin underlays and ugg boots.
WOAB: flanny flat and pot of gold.
Sorry...been knitting :D
I was totally slack today on the washing front and forgot to put nappies on clotheshorse. Ruby is going to bed in an itti bitti boo with a green kids minky pocket on as a cover and a home made bamboo booster in it  It's not as bulky as it sounds!
I was very unslack in other ways though. I tore out everything I had crammed into her wardrobe :o and did a nappy stocktake and found a few that were put aside that Caleb wore as well as my first few sewing attempts.
a visual enabler huh??? hmmmm, now i feel bad!
showed my dad some nappies i had delivered the other day - apparently last night, he asked mum what the go with all the nappies was, why i wasn't using flats - thankfully mum has listed (woot!) and was able to explain it all. i think dad got a bit of a bum steer from somewhere cos he thought i was spending money on pretty sposies!! thankfully it's all cleared up (mum even managed to explain to him abotu OSFA and everything) and he's now supportive again. he still isn't sure WHY i'm spending the money, but mum thinks he's kinda outta the loop on how exxy sposies and even terry flats are now!
i did get a bit more technical with mum today and explained about using materials that breath rather than the old pilchers - so now she has MORE info if dad asks!
hey beautifuls!
I GOT FLUFFY MAIL TODAY! Omg I haven't had fluffy mail in yonks! I finished paying off my bubblebubs layby and I got 2 beautiful large side snap (1 cuddle fleece and 1 minky) nappies! I love the side snappers and they were cheap too!
I also got my pair of longies finally! They were from a swap that happened about 6 months ago and I have been waiting patiently! They came and they are wonderful. Fit Ash perfectly.
I also got some second hand covers, the mediums were getting a bit small so now I am all good. One wool BBH and the other is pul.
BG that is an awesome stash! I love the red lion one (WW i think?).
Shaver! I never thought of that! And here I am picking the pills off by hand one at a time through my 12 odd pairs of woolies... sigh... the time I could have saved!
Does anyone wash their longies/shorties in the washing machine on the wool cycle? I have a front loader and it has a wool cycle and I am too scared to try! I get so sick of cleaning them by hand and I am so allergic I get really bad cracked hands :(
Thanks for the well wishes about Dave. I am feeling so happy today! I looked at houses yesterda, 13 of them actually, and have basically been told to get my application in asap and I can have this house! Just needs to be finalised with the owner but the property manager said noone else had applied yet and she was going to talk to him today about me moving in on the 20th! WOOT!
I have a GF nappy on the way! Super night nappy and it's gorgeous stripes. Can't wait to get it. We are in desperate need of another NN.
Also I can't wait to pay off my layby at Mels store... I think it's about time I tried these cushie tooshies!
Nothing else fluffy related here, oh I might be getting another custom at bizy bee! I NEEEEEEEEEED more shimmer nappies!
*sniff* shimmer *sniff*
MissyMoo...Cushie Tushies are awesome, you will LOVE them!!
My grandma is almost finished knitting a pair of longies for Jack...wooohoooo, can't wait!! Will just have to buy some Lanolin.
No fluffy mail news here..still have to pay off my layby at Mel's and one at Fluffybubs.
Did a bit of clothes shopping today for Jack, a few people gave money for Jack's birthday as they didn't know what sizes to buy...I so wanted to buy fluff with it, LOL...but he did really need winter clothes.
WOJB...MandyMac PN NN with WAHM fleece cover.
Hi all just wondering if that new secondhand cloth store has gone live yet. I dont know the addy :(
rhyb - do you mean nappychic?? If so, yep, already got my first delivery ;)
I got some fluff mail too, my first delivery from the new secondhand trading site :)
Speaking of all things wool - I lanolised my shorties the other week, put a pair on River and he leaked through. Could they not be lanolised enough? It could have been that the leg holes were a tad loose and he just aimed right haha Ive been too scared to use them again (cause my washing pile is huge as it is, no need for more wee'd on clothes) so they are just sitting there gathering dust.
ETA - just a heads up, there is a nappy for sale on B4B (Sugarshots brand) with the duck/"Master o the high sea's" embroidery on it. I know some in here wanted to nab the Widdlewuns one I hyena'd. Just in case someone's interested.
fluffy fix!!
2 parcels from the new site - newborn fluff
1 parcel from Clothie Bumz - LS thingy (correct technical term) and wetbag
Really have to make time to go through stash so I know what I have before I make more purchases for trial for when bubs gets here
I always check in on the nappychic site. Lots of lovely nappies on there :) Will have to sell on there when I am having a stash cull! Way better than B4B :)
I have to agree...new secondhand nappy site rocks
No more enabling....mazis broke :(
oh you ladies, i love this thread .
Where else could a newbie get all this wonderful information.
I have put a new swim nappy on layby with Mel along with other fluff.
Lachlan has swimming lessons every week and man the swim nappy they sell at the swimming pool sucks big time, the press studs already don't stay done up and Ive only used it half a dozen times.
Looking forward to Maz stocking and the opening of ticklefish tots...
off to check out this nappy site you have mentioned
Off to take a peak at Nappychic- and now ticklefish- Thanks to all of u enablers... (honest i luv ya all... its just my DP... hehehe)
BG- Your stash is gorgeous hun...
Also with pilling- Razor is good, i have a machine i got from woolies (a special one with a battery- much quicker then a shaver i found (although both have great results.
Hi girls,
Nothing really nappy related here today just feeling very sorry for myself being without DH. I know I shouldn't complain its only 2 weeks and if it were just me I think I'd love it but now I have Emily its harder esp when she seems to know he's gone and is being a little punk!
Oh well maybe I need a fluffy fix to make me feel better any suggestions?
Inspired by BGs pics... I finally counted my stash... have been meaning to do it for a while now... especially so I know what I have and what I should be looking at
Ok so I have:

Flannel flats - 4
I have taken some pics and will update this thread once they are in my gallery - incase anyone wants to have a look
ooh, i inspired someone!!!!
i'm having a good fluffy day! DH misplaced some MCN's that got delivered the other day (well, not really, he packed them away without telling me so i had no idea where they were) - and, well, months ago, rayray dropped off some kissaluvs for me and i dropped them "somewhere" on my way out the door to the market and couldn't find!!! well, i have had the nesting urge kick in HUGELY this morning and decided i just HAD to find these kissaluvs. well, i have now sorted paperwork and stuff to the point where DH will be burning a heap of stuff this arvo (two or three huge boxes full), have sorted older kids toys into toy boxes for visitors, packed away a heap of stuff that needed to find homes, dragged out the portable dvd player and started charging it ready to go into hospital if i need it... AND i found the kissaluvs!!! woot! stupid thing is, i remember putting them in the vague area they were found, but i just don't know why i couldn't find them for ummmm two months!!!
have done some more prewashing this morning and, after lunch will be hanging them out to dry... and on top of all this, i'm copying the National Geo documentary "in the womb" for alan and a couple of others that have asked!
nesting nesting nesting... one more pile of crap in the lounge to sort, then i might start cracking the whip on DH to sort out the stuff in Gremlins wardrobe so we can put the new rail in there and hang all her clothes up...
i couldn't get onto Belly belly all yesterday, site just woudln't come up for me on the browser.
here;s what i would have posted (from the night before when dh turned th einternet connection off on me too early!)
and Jess - bilby didn't have a first birthday party - she survived. i felt better by her 2nd birthday, to have one then. i found it stressful cause i had to organise all by myself at another location, in hot weather, with a small car. we have one relative so it's not like "gran and aunties will help" etc.
so here's the post
Willow - the new bum geniuses have a 12 month warranty. They use better aplix, they use better elastic, and if anythign goes wrong within 12 months, you use your warranty. so i wouldn't let the old versions put you off (unless the fit is all wrong e.g crotch too wide).
Pretty Butterfly
not sure how old your bub is, but i laid down, on my bed where i put bubs, a mattress protector mat, and that copped my leaking milk, her possets etc, and kept the sheets clean. Easier to wash the mat than remake the bed. It worked really well, until she could walk, but by then, she wasn't doing possets.
the mattress protector mats have waterproof bottoms (which towels don't). i got a Swaddlebees one, swear by them. Also good nappy free time mats too.
to make your own mattress protector mat, you need:
one layer of something waterproof e.g PUL, felted woollen blanket
one layer of something absorbent e.g microfibre, sherpa, hemp, bamboo, old bath towel
one layer of something soft to lie on e.g microfleece
so get those three layers cut out, assemble it like a sandwich, in the order i put, then overlock all the way around - you're done!
make it the size you like, i'd suggest maybe one metre square?
Not everyone wants or needs one of these mats, but if you do, that is a cheap way to do it.
TERU
narrow crotch fitteds?
whizz kidz OSFA
cute tooshies OSFM
swaddlebees fitted pockets (organic velour inner and outer)
daisy doodles
very baby
itti bitti boos
dragonflymagik fitted bamboo velours
caterpillar cuties
wotbb: blueberry trainer - see how boring it is once they are out of mcn!!!!
im still waiting to get to play with some fluff. I've sorted them and got them organised, packed stuff to take to hossy for going home, and got a nappy bag all packed - i think. Mmm not sure what to put in there.
Other than that not a lot happening.
Hey from what age will babylegs fit or does it depends on how big/chucnky bubs legs are?
Brigsy's Girl - hon, i'm sure you inspire ALOT of people!
awww now i'm blushing! i'm just another chick going about life and learning how to do it all - i'm sure i'll be here with LOTS of silly questions in a few weeks...
ooh, forgot to mention - after reading some comments on here, and not sure what Gremlin will or wont react to, i grabbed some silk liners with another order i put in - i figure if she seems to react to something, i can try that... hopefully it won't be an issue though...
