Buy for baby or nappy chic so I can hyena lol
glad you had a good time away Mazzie!
Kazbah - are you going to INSIST, on medical grounds, that CC only use YOUR covers? "those plastic pants/pilchers" are made of PVC - illegal to use in children's items in Europe, due to the fumes they emit. CCC have to keep kids nut free, all sorts of things like that, so no reason why they can't keep Pip "pvc free" etc. i just put on bilby's form, that she had skin irritation and reactions to "normal sunscreen, disposables nappies, disposable baby wipes" and that i would supply alternatives e.g organic sunscreen, modern cloth nappies - and i was prepared to supply Nature baby care sposie wipes (the only ones without propylene glycol) but ended up, the ccc used cloth wipes at 1st place, paper towels at her current place.
How is his skin today?
Anna - it is sad when you realise your nb is no longer a nb, but then i guess you realise all the wonderful new things they're learning, and so you get to be happy about that - to make up for the being sad about them getting bigger.
wotbb: bluberry with longies
i found out last night, when bilby wet at 6am, that if she wets, the blueberry trainer feels DRY on the outside, but the cotton pj pants i had on OVER the blueberry trainer, felt wet. so even though she had been dry for SO many nights running, i had gotten complacent and had begun putting her in pj pants again, maybe i should keep her in longies for longer. No sheets to change, the brollysheet did the job.
Kazbah, LOL at your mum and the "bloomers"! that's cute that she offered.
NaNa, i hope you get all your packing and last minute stuff done this week, i wouldn't be able to sleep (for excitement) either! I took our swaddlebees "travelling" too albeit only a few days interstate, but they didn't let us down.
Rhyb - for selling stuff, you have
buyforbaby
belly belly classifieds
nappy chic
trading rooms on other forums too
babysoftlandings does 2nd hand mcn on consignment
Suse - long time no hear, hope you and Euan are going well
MelBel - i must contact you about ladybird embroideries
amber necklace saga, finally bit the bullet and ordered a 50cm one (my head is 58cm so i ordered one with a clasp). i found it so hard to choose the size to get.
has anyone here bought any Sahara Bloom bamboo clothing (adult sizes)? i need some advice.
Anna - I would use the BB classifieds if I was you - Being platinum they are free, and check the thread about linking to your ad in the plat section. Non plat members can still buy them but they can't advertise. Well done for being such a good milk machine hun, babies that DON'T grow are scary BTDT, I am actually looking forward to Leah outgrowing the NB stuff!!
Maz - We noticed, but you gave us warning - hence the no 'where's Maz' posts. Bummer about the SIL and sposies. She will get it together eventually though, she has enough MCN addicts around her to fall in love with them ;)
Ren - The gaia should be fine if it has no petrochemicals, and is fully rubbed in (no white showing) The Hydrocortizone has been fine on Em's nappies because DH is rubbing it in fully and she doesn't have any white left on her.
This morning I got out of bed to find a big Aus Post box sitting on the table. My first thought was 'I didn't order any fluff' DH's cousin and his fiancee sent some stuff up for the girls. A polar fleece sleepsuit for Leah (should stay dry ;)) and some flanny PJs for the big girls and some shorts and a skirt for Em and some hair accessories for the big girls. They also sent an invite for their engagement party but I dont think we can afford 1 flight for any of us before tax time :( The party is the week before the brissy meet so we might have to say depending on when our tax cheques arrive, but Em will still be under 2 so we would both have 1 on our laps and Sarah would have her own seat. Still exxy for 3 tickets though. I think they want DH to be in the wedding too so it is really hard. His cousin was the best man at our wedding and they are really close. To make that more nappy related... When they have kids I think they might consider cloth but I might have some more work to do on that front ;) Em's history is a big helper though, because I would have been able to tell she wasn't wetting nappies if she had been in cloth.
WOEB: Whatever CC have put on her. Could be anything, the drawers were full last night :D
GIGI- I dunno why you think you have a big head/neck (cant vouch for the neck) but can tell you that a 58 head is perfectly normal. The stocko size for a ladies riding helmet is 56-58.
And the bracelet I ordered from amberbebe doesnt have a clasp but has funny fishing line elasic-ey stuff. Its pretty stretchy. Glad to hear you found what you want tho :)
ARIMEH- if your username is a combo of your kids names, does that mean you will change when new bubs arrives, or am I completely barking up the wrong tree and it has nothing at all to do with them?
Just wondering........
Lil man has had shocking wind this morn, poor lil bugger bib in soo much pain. Finally got some drops down him and he has crashed. But he hasnt had as much to eat as I would like :(
WOLB HH Cheetah pocket
I need a favour from a hardcore nappier re selling the stash - someone pm me!
OK so i'm SOOOO over this runny poop thing... Need a LS or similar...would u only buy a LS or i have seen the Happy Heiny at Mels store??/ I looked at cheapo ines on ebay for $20 + 8 postage but figured i would hate to buy one and it be crap and then have to buy a good one later.
Jess, i have suggested the LS so many times, so will keep quiet about it now.
Shellsbells, when bilby had wind problems as a young un, the gripe water (the brand with zero alcohol in it) was our "magic potion", a dose of that, three minutes later, pop pop, squirt squirt, a look of relief on her face and a nappy to change!
i thought i had a big head, cos the amber necklaces were being sold at 44cm lengths, and i tried that on me, using a tape measure - like a choker! I bought a 50cm one, maker said they would make it "all in one" (no clasp) and then i thought, how will i get it on and off, over a 58 cm head? that's why i thought, i must have a massive head.
bilby had her first poo accident in trainers, since being tt-d (at my friend's house of course, just when her child had followed bilby into the loo, to see her go on the big toilet - he is on potty). i knew kids had accidents, AFTER being tt-d, esp when playing in a different environment, but still - i felt embarrassed - silly i know.
and yet again, it happened when she was unwell (coming down with another cold methinks).
my friend is very close to being ready to try her bub's first day in cloth, just waiting on Little Squirt to arrive, be installed by my dh, do her pre-washes.
we had fun today trying on a Fluffybubs night nappy on her dd, they have a fantastic booster system. i think it will dry very timely and many layers. They are beautifully made. Not a perfect fit, (as the sidesnappers are on this bub), but the best i think, a frontsnapper could be, on this child.
wotbb: blueberry trainers with longies (have retired the pj pants).
Thanxs GIGI. I am going to the docs tomorrow so will chat to him, I think I do need to try a different wind medication. I have been using infants friend, mainly cause it was the only one that I could use from a very young age. He is on reflux meds too (losec) but I am not convinced that is the prob, he is better since starting, but still has his bad moments. Doesnt help that he is a total guts when he does eat and takes huge gulps at a time:rolleyes:
Still, all worth it when he gives you that big cheesy, gummy grin:heartbeat:
Ok, nappies.
I have finally resolved myself to the fact that he is going to do more than just wee in my nappys. Sunday it was my bum g's and this morning it was an itti bitti. I had been getting around it by putting his "workhorses" on at strategic times of the day (cause he is normally pretty predictable)but It was inevitable that I was going to luck out.
Sigh, somehow, they just dont seem as "new"
Am saving my pennies for some retail therapy at the baby show. Hopefully lots of nappies there.
WOLB CT couture spotty dog
Morning morning
Shells - wanna meet up at the baby expo when it comes to Bris? I'm pretty sure that I'll be allowed out of the house to check it out.. hehe...
Um yeah no nappy news - got my bundles of buns yesterday - I really like her booster system, they rock.
Better go change the kiddies and get some food into their bellies!!! and mine!!! (well my bum doesn't need to be changed, but I do need food)
Plus I should probably get outta my jarmies and like, do my hair or something - have a BB member coming over today.. woohoo!! little baby cuddles!!! teeheehee
Mel, would love to meet up. Good to have a seasoned campaigner when on the nappy prowl.
Any day works for me, you let me know when is good.
MAZ- Have you found yourself some prettier friends? Where are you girl? :p
OOHH Arimeh, what have you done.........
Is it possible to get nappy wood? I think I just got it.
Those Pop ins look da bomb. Am off to wash straight away.
Someone tell me they are crap so I dont go buy more
I don't have a pop-in yet. Maybe when I am on the right income for our lifestyle I will get one. Might have to wait a few months then.
Jess - We used to use the backyard hose, then we got a LS. I have heard reports of one sprayer not suiting aussie toilets so well, not sure which one it was though. The LS gets used for the potty and even the kitty litter tray now.
Em is becoming more toilet aware. As soon as she has wet her nappy, if she can remove it, she does. Then she runs and gets the potty out of the bathroom and plays on that for a while. She hasn't done anything in it for a while but she is learning that is what it is for because she doesn't know she is going to wee until she does it. Scary stuff!!!
Mel - You didn't say bum when you said change the kiddies, so changing yourself too would have been appropriate ;)
Shell - do you bicycle his legs when he has wind? That has always worked here.
Keep trying to post but nothing is working for me so see how we go again... (ps will copy and paste JIC this time)
OK- I layby'd a HH spray like the LS from Mel... YAY cant wait to get my layby out now...
No Fluff news here... but am waiting on my CGR that Teagan hyena'd for me...
PMSL That is hilarious... and YUP pop-ins rock... i use the nightbooster and it works a treat and no need for cover (well we havent needed one yet) the leg Gussets contain ALL poopsplosions here... i expected the poop to get under the flap parts but it hasnt yet. that seems to roll up a bit on DD's back... Think it helps contain the up the back poops...:

I looked at the BizyBees Naps... NOICE.... think i might have to try for one... (i know i have no money but .... well i have no logical answer but i just want one... LOL.)
Third time lucky at posting I hope.
I'll be at the Brissy Expo too!!!
Has anyone seen the new DFM's up for preview very nice!!
Sadly i think my stash buying is almost over for now, just the occasional one here or there when something pretty comes up like an auriel beetlebum or DFM, they fit Elise the best but are so hard to come by!!
Luckily I have been pretty good at getting at least one each stocking.
Fluffy Mail...fluffy mail...fluffy mail!!!!
Wooohooooo, got my layby from Mel yesterday...oh man, I have missed that fluff hit! Better than sex, I reckon!!!!!
The stash has been washed and is now hanging out in the sun. Can't wait to try hi first pop-in..looks FANTASTIC. Would be great if they made pretty patterns ;)
Hmmm, what else did I get? Finally got the Bumble Bee CT, a yellow (I think sunshine) CT and the Working Wonder CT (so cute). Also got flames GK, Zebra Minky GK and a navy and white striped Ecobub. Can't wait to try then all on him and get pics.:D
I also want to get a LS (or similiar)..but not sure if it will fit on my plumbing. I am going to eventually post a pic of my plumbing and maybe one of the lovely LS experts in here can advise me if it will connect to my loo.
Ali-Will give that a go thanx. Really dont like giving him medication if I can help it, 'specially when it doesnt appear to be doing its job.
Righto, am gettin off the 'puter or I am gunna spend more money and I wanna have some for the baby expo.
WOLB The bum G that he defiled on sunday
Jess - I have a buzy bee semi custom and it is devine! Sarah does great work!
OK girls, say you had $200 to spend on nappies - what would you get??
We already have lots of IBs, a few BumGs (which I'm slowly phasing out) and a few fitteds and covers and other one offs.
Thinking I might try some Cushie Tushies?
Would prefer AIO/AI2 or pockets.
PS Put our CGR on DS yesterday - I don't think it's gonna be a good fit for us...waaaaaah!
Willow I would get a couple of different brands.
Willow, I can say Swaddlebees are great (think you can get pockets or AIO/AI2's). Hmmm if you want some custom Genesa Forge are nice, as are Bizy Bee.
Anna - looked at GF this morning but the whole custom thing had me confused! LOL.
Some of the other girls have gotten customs off GF, they should be able to help you work it out. I bought a caterpillar nappy and customised the inners so it was bit easier for me!
IM still here  just a bit busy ;)
Willow - I gotta agree SB are the bomb..but get theones with organic velour inside..they are so soft and lush
Sarah is just gorgeous...love the woman :)
Ive got the mount bourke of horror to fold tonight...nah...better things to do then that
BG - I know your lurking babe.....MAUWS for you honey
Found a new store...google flattery with the trimmings and leave the owl AIO alone!! Its MINE I tell ya's!!!!!
*yawn* is it bed time yet????
Anyone need a Hyena for the BB nappies stocking... I need a fluff fix but i'm broke... :(
PM me or let me know on FB... Home with the kids DP at work so i will be BORED stiff when they go to bed
Marlene- YAY on fluffymail. LOVE my Eco, pop-ins and GK (unfortunatley T likes to take the velcro ones off... :( so i have to cover them now)
Few of my boosters are stained... Damn this wether... Gimme sun for just 1 day please... i have mountains of laundry to do and only so much i can get dry on the airers. (have 2 little ones) ! usually has naps on it and the otehr clothes or towels.
Maz- been a bit quiet hun???
ETA- By the time i was able to post this Maz u had already posted...
Hello Ladies,
I felt so lost last night without bb! Sad!
The only nappy news I have is that Emily is in the mummy n me wahm naps gallery in her petal party nappy. It looks cute!
Willow I would get some cts and swaddlebees, pop ins, maybe a new baby beehind minkee multifit, its a pocket tho...I haven't heard of anyone trying them yet.
Jess- you'l love the sprayer!!! Mine came in handy yest with a major pooplosion. I wish i could have hosed down emily ....she was covered in poop! of course i just hosed down the nappy!
Marlene- that's a major haul!!! how exciting!!!
Shell- that was really funny!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! nappy wood..will tell my dh that one.
Orright, the class clown is back.
And i need help.
Itti Bitti Vs Pop In
How trim would you say Pop Ins are? I lurve the Ittis for thier fit under clothes and the colors are just awesome.
But I am torn cause the pop in is a osfm so will last longer and I am thinking that it is a better design. But I havnt tried it on lil man yet.
Which would you buy?
hiya lovelies!
quick question for anyone with new or new-ish BumGs - approximately how long is the leg elastic unstretched??
Jess - have you tried putting the velcro-fastening nappies on Tiahna back-to-front? Just for a while, till she gets over the whole "I love that sound" thing... LS are the bestest thing ever. Dont know about the other ones, but I cant imagine life without one now!
maz - pot of gold is in the suitcase! (Just have to hide some swaddlebees in there too. and maybe a BP or three... heehee.) New camera is ready to rock. Bring on the sunshiny weather. So peeved I'm missing your stocking tho... and the meet-up.
WOHB: NBC sposie and a tonne of gunky cream. teething again, poor bebe.
double post
Just a quickie
Willow - Ecobubs are lovely
Shellsbells - I have a pop-in coming later in the week and have IB's - so I can give you a newbie opinion in a few days time as to what I think re trimness. But I agree, it is hard to go past the Itti's lush colours!
Bizy Bee stocking starts soon - I have never tried to look at a "stocking" opening LOL so am gunna try and do it tonight ...
WOZB - still using sposies overnight - which incidentally has worked out fine cos he has poo'd in them first thing in the morning so none of my nappies have been tainted yet ;)
Sami, I have my pop ins, it is washed and drying at the moment. I am dumb, I should have tried it on lil man before I washed it cause now its damp and he is asleep, but if you and I have been shopping at the same place, then you will know I can get them at a really good price, but I have to order today.
What to do?, its the pop in or itti
Am torn.....
So annoyed i tried to hyena something from BB and it said that the stocking started at 8 but it started at 7:(
NaNa- Tried back to frint... she still takes them off so i have to use them under pants... or with maz cover cos she hasnt worked out how to undo the snaps yet...
I had her in little undies today as she has been fascinated with J's and also the loo and potty... she hasnt done anything on it but its good she is getting interested in it and isnt scared like J was
I received my Happy Heiny and BumG pocket nappies today and washed them and then realised that I HATE the feel of the microfibre inserts- it makes me shiver in a yuck way. Anway, point is, am wondering if anyone can name me some pocket nappies with non-microfibre inserts? I have some Greenkids which I love but looking at another brand to try. I really prefer bamboo or a natural insert??
Also, how many nappies do you have? Some of you seem to have millions!!
Whoever was asking about BumG leg elastic unstretched- 13cm.
KR - check out the BumG website it is a .au site, they have hemp boosters and some others too that arent microfibre.
Jamtots also do hemp inserts for the swaddlebees.
ETA - My magicalls booster which I think is bamboo (?) Also fits in my BumG v2 pockets
Katie Rabbit
all is not lost
the pockets and the pocket inserts ARE interchangeable.
so for example, generic trifolds, you might have a peapods bamboo booster, you might have a cushie tushies bamboo trifold, whatever brand of trifold/prefold you have, fold that in three and insert THAT into your happy heiny or bumgenius pocket nappy.
any absobent pocket insert will do the job, only requirement is that it FITS the pocket cavity AS WIDE as the pocket cavity is, at it's NARROWEST POINT.
the narrowest point is the crotch, in middle of the nappy when opened out.
so at that point, the entire width of the nappy, should be same width as the insert.
at each end of the nappy, your insert won't be AS wide as the pocket cavity, but that's ok.
a hard thing to describe, easy to show someone in real life!
anyone after Narrow Crotch Side Snappers, i saw Gadimal pocket nappies in real life today, at Nature's Cradle (new Goodwood road store). lovely shop and they stock MOO GOO TOO! anyway, i got to see the Gadimal pocket IRL - they are like a malden mills fleece (windpro) version of sized swaddlebees! if only i had tried them while bilby was in nappies!!! (i would have put cotton velour liners in them).
you can get windpro outer of the high loft style (fluffy like a teddy bear), or windpro outers of the low loft style, smooth. They have coloured microfleece inners and contrast colour snaps. great price too. My friend bought the last electric purple one, so cool. they have red windpro ones left, a few navy, a few spearmint green. excellent nappy. the next US shipment will be at the higher prices, so if you're in the market for something like this, jump in now. You lucky people (with bubs still in mcn!!! i'm just jealous LOL).
saw some nice flongies and mongies at the bizy bee store on wahmnaps
shellsbells, hope you get some answers about the wind.
Marlene, i'll look forward to a new batch of photos from you! action shots in the new mcn LOL.
Nana - have a fantastic time, won't you? i'm channelling "Amelie" at you. photos of your bub in mcn in every country you visit, just like the photos of the kidnapped garden gnome in Amelie!
maz - i thought of you when i saw the owl stuff at Flattery! woot woot!
wotbb: blueberry trainer and longies
ANyone after a large GIRLY night nappy?
Hey ladies,
Sorry I went into hiding for a while moving house and not being able to get internet connected cause we are in a new estate but we are up and running now....no help to bigpond though...took their bloody time I am telling you!! VENT OVER!! Lol.....
I am slowly getting all this MCN info to sink in and getting around looking at a few different types. JUst a few question I have to ask for those of you who are a little bit more experienced at this then I am.......DS is almost 20 months old and is absolutely scared of the toilet so he isn't going to be toilet trained any time soon but I am wondering how many nappies I should have for him?? At the moment in sposies he is going through about 6 a day. Also, would 25-30 be enough for a newborn??
Now I am going to go read back a few thread and see what I have missed!!
Amelia - I had about 25 for Miss M - but she pooped fairly often, so I found it wasn't enough for me - however, she was born in winter, so it was hard getting them dry in time. This one that I'm carrying now will be different cos it will be a summer baby :)
Howdy owdy everyone!!!!!
Better go change the kids - I'm so slack sometimes.. lol
I'm sure I can smell something nasty so I'm trying to avoid it. Luckily its DS and he could sit in a pile of poo all day and still be quite content. Must be a male thing cos Miss M is soooo not like that!!!!!
teeheehee
WOTB's: the said night nappies that need to be changed cos I reckon they'll be leaking soon!!
was gonna buy 6 large IB at the expo , but prolly wont need to till next years expo, as dd is losing weight and will prolly wear the meds till next yr any way :(
so MonkeyMM, Ren, Shells......hoever else are you all going the expo? If so letme know what day and we might see if we cam bump into each :D
Met AmandaJ yesterday and it was so good to see another baby in cloth and BL and he was sooooooo cute as were Whett and Cody!
But anyway back to nappies...Arimeh i know how you feel some mornings, you know you have to but the want to delay/avoid is there also....
Whoever was asking about the boosters for BumG i also swap and change mine....i have heaps of Bamboo/Hemp trifolds but folded just in half they fit my BumG's perfectly so i chuck two of them with the micro insert to make it a night nappy :D
