Kawazuki - yup 2 days is fine. You could always chuck them in, do a pre-wash, then throw in clothes and stuff like that on top of them too - save water and all that. Most of the yucky stuff would be gone with the first pre-wash.
Sewn in ittis vs snap ins - hmmm.. I liked both - got more leg gape with the snap ins though. But since they were shredding on me, liked the fact that I brought more snap in ones, cos at least I could replace the boosters - can't with sewn ins so I have a few nappies here that are basically rendered useless now.
What else was mentioned? Can't remember. Better go check on Miss M.
Oh yeah - if anyone hasn't seen my FB status - she crawled today!!! only 2 "steps" but its better than nothing!!! WOOHOOO!!!
-
hmmmmm i picked Jack up on the way home from work and MIL tells me she 'accidently' flushed one of Jack NEW baby legs down the sewer!!!! (her words NOT mine!!!!) i would have said flushed it down the toilet  am cranky!!!! hope her toilet gets blocked now!!!! she should be more careful!!!! and i have been meaning to ask her...why the heck she is using liners in his nappies?? i haven't been giving her any???
-
OMG!!! Mel - she crawled...NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOo
Shell - i might have to take you up on the offer yet babe.....gotta check out IRL fluff's :)
Kat - WHAT!!! is she using the babylegs as liners :o OMG is she for real!!!!! NO please say it isnt so!!!! and yes...2 more weeks....god im getting all anties
Kaw - i sometimes dont wash for 3 days :hide:... and im with your DH , I couldnt stomach putting nappies in the wash with anything else  and then I would be worried about the washing powder touching my nappies (I dont use it...im a bicarb user now thanks to the lovely Christy :) )
-
YAY for Miss M, congrats Mel
Maz, happy to oblige. I live not far from Advancetown. would love to meet you. We could even sneak you off morning tea/arvo drinks with some of the other girls here if you wanted.
-
ohhh that sounds like a plan  even if we dont go to the IRL nappy shop.....just to meet other clothies or mummies
-
Hmmmm
Why do some people wash nappies in bicarb and some laundry powder? And if bicarb how much do you use in a wash?
Fluff - Oh big boo to MIL - I hope it wasnt a favourite pair of BL!
I dont think there are any IRL nappy shops here that I would visit - only one I know that has peapods ....
-
whats this advance town your talking about ??? Maz are you coming to QLD ??? did i miss something... wouldnt want to miss a nappy meet !!!
YAY on the crawling MEL !! well done Miss M ... Gabs is a bit behind in the "normal" so i am soo proud when she does something age appropirate !!
ummm all this rain has left my stash very wet :( today ive been usuing TT and sposies .. im nearly outta sposies (only 2 left .. ) so i may have to break out the dodgy nappies ..
oh im a fan of sewn ins ... because currently i have a snap in and cant find the top booster :wall: !!
-
Lea, I think its when Maz comes to Qld for the meet.... I wanna see a shop too PLEEEEEAAAASE.......:pray::pray:
I do all my cleaning with bi-carb, I had no idea I could wash my nappies with it!!!!!
How much Maz?? It cleans ok on its own??
woHb.. GF
woKb.. sandman...
And a woohoo, and a sad, congrats on Miss M.....:dance::dance: She's growing up mummy.....
-
Sooo i know of this SHop in Kingston and went in during my first week and was WAY overwhelmed....bbbuuutttt i live 5mins away so a bit of retail therapy and coffee back at mine certainly wouldn't go a stray ........
hmm Ittis, i only have the one snap in and love it but do get the occasional leg gape (depending on if DS is having a fat or skinny day...what is with that?) may have to purchase a sewn in just to see
Well i did our annual budget and it looks like im job hunting:cry: really didn't want to for the first 12months of DS life but we are currently running in the negative so no more MCN's for me till tax time and need to find work for 2 days a week.....hmm wonder if beck will hire me heehee jokes she always has heaps of help in there :(
So back to nappies, i am running out. I relly don't want to use the dryer as most of mine have PUL on them and its been POURING here for three days and there is NO sun and well just grrrr they are all wet lets hope we get at least some morning sun tomorrow or at least no rain so they can get outside in the breeze cuz atm they are on the clothes horse in front of the fan :(
WOTB - WC blue minkee NN
-
SammiH, which state are you in? which city/town if you don't mind me asking? (JIC i can work out some IRL mcn shops for you).
Smoz - i never line dried our mcn, just dried them on clothes airer, with fan going, and tumble dried the inserts for a few minutes, just to fluff them up, get the last bit of damp out. PUL/fleece shells, covers, pockets didn't even need the drier.
if drying time is an issue, pockets and ai2's are the best thing out. and buy fitteds/inserts that are no more than TWO layers thick of absorbent material, in any component.
charmlea - how badly did the flooding affect you? are you ok?
Advancetown? is there really a town/suburb called this? i thought it was a wind up by Maz at first! Sounded so futuristic movie-like!
wotbb: ye olde blueberry as usual.
Done any wheelies yet, Alioops? LOL, thinking of you and your beautiful Bump.
Maz, are you sitting down without pain now hon?
Sorry to hear about Mat's legs.
Teru - Raven once explained Ittis to me as "narrow crotch, like Swaddlebees sized pockets, but fuller in the bottom section than Swaddlebees sized pockets." Sammi explained it well.
I know someone who received their Fluffy Bubs from this week's stocking ALREADY! talk about speedy postage!
My "convert" has bought cloth wipes and is about to order her Little Squirt, now i know she's really going to do it. it's like waiting for xmas (for me and her LOL). even her mum is getting excited now.
-
Just bought a WCNN off Nappycino and 6 prefolds off b4b for bubble. Cant wait!
-
Gigi , we are in Ipswich , and the flooding has gone down alot now , but if it was one more day of heavy rain , there would be no way in our out , as we live next to the river and i was very high! my patio and laundry copped it !!
when they dont wet a nappy , do you still re use it or wash it ?? DS woke up dry thismorning, (yay) and i'll prolly use it again (the KK) tonight , is that bad ? DH thinks its grose ..but i figure its uneccessary washing wdyt ??
Bek @ thcns - Donna from bits for bots is often there and she is lovely too !!! im thinking Vicki from bubble bubs helps out too , they used to have stores opposite each other ( Vicki does not have a store , just a room whith ALOT of overlockers in them and the mums all sewing away at the nappies :)
i bought a clothes arier the other day (tues) and did a load of nappies and with this damp weather they are finally dry ! but i have the biggest back log of washing so i will prolly use TT and a sposie mix until the sun comes out completly .... the stupid cat weed all over the stuff in the laundry so thats the most important to get the stank out of all the washing , before i do my precious stash !!!
-
We got fluffy mail! Thanks Gigi! And I love the little bilby you put in :D DH opened the pack, his first opening of "fluffy mail" ever. And he was excited :)
Little man's got swelling in between his scrotum and anus, the little line is all swollen up and almost looks like girl bits :( so no sleep for us last night, DH ended up going down to a 24-hr shop to get sposies :( Pip's also got red welts on the inside thigh area, I strongly suspect its due to the plastic pants @ CC, will take my own covers today for him. He only settled down while he was waiting for DH to come back with sposies, smothered in Moogoo and no nappy. That was at 4am :(
But any ideas about the swollen bit?
woHB - sposie, soon to be GK
-
Gigi - I am in Canberra - pretty quite like that here LOL
Any ideas on how much bicarb for a wash?
I have IB snapins - they are a bit bulky through the crotch, but narrow, the trifold does take a long time to dry but I bought a few extras. I thought beign AI2 they would be easier than the sewn in - but I might have to buy ONE more to try the sewn in
WOZB - red & cream ecobub

Advancetown is a real place, it is out the back of Nerang. Hinze dam is at Advancetown (on one side, Gilston is on the other)
Lea, I think Maz is staying at Advancetown for her family hols in september. I think Jed may have put his foot down and said no nappy meets, but I recon we might have to try steal her for a quick catch up;) WDYT?
Lil man has been really windy and miserable and not drinking as much as he usually does (about 1/2 the amount but I am feeding him a little more frequently cause I dont want him to dehydrate) How long do you let this go on before you take them to the docs?
He is doing # 1s and 2s fine and is sleeping lots. 6 wk growth spurt maybe?
WOLB Possum Pouches Cee Jay fitted, no cover. My workhorse :D
-
Maz hun NO she isn't using the babylegs as liners :P...he stuck his heel/foot in his shiatty nappy...all over the baby legs...soo she was getting rid of the poo down the toilet and also had the crappy babylegs in hand aswell...and dropped one of the baby legs down the sewer/toilet...and flushed it!!!!! NOT happy as it was one of the ones i REALLY liked!!!!
WOJB ~ last nights dinner by the smell of it!!! Yellow IB soon to be Black IB
-
Def would be a 6wk growth spurt, my boy is doing the same and they are week apart in age Shells :)
Im gonna have lots of fluff coming my way next week
Im waiting on a snoozywun, a DD side snapper and two seconds CT's.
Thats it, no more buying til the MAL stocking- Dh has said I can hyena two more night nappies YIPPEEEEEE.
Speaking of nappies I really need to wash some today
-
Kaz hon we go through exactly the same with mateauz  it bloody is painfull for them isnt it :( get your hands on the ezcemer moo goo.......its helped us. We have been using wipe solution ever change, that and gaia powder..and sposies :( but after 2 days we're back to normal and the swelling has gone
Jed is cool with me meeting up now..has no choice  I gotta meet you girls. Advance town is near movie world ect and we got time share accomidation there ...only 4 months to go
Gigi - is your converted friend the same one who got the Breast pads from me? Yes I have my days with my bum :(. I went down the street yesterday for an hour and I was totally wreacked by the time I got home
Anna - dont get rid of all your NB nappies hon...make sure you keep one or 2, the boys might want to put them on their teddies ;)
ive gotta wash a load of nappies today and clean my house cause were going to Melbourne for the weekend......gotta meet my new nephew and celebrate my IL's 40th wedding anni
ETA - just a community annoucement :( https://www.bellybelly.com.au/forums...ml - check out my last post
-
Can you use the Gaia powder with MCN?
The boys keep getting bloody blisters and swelling on their penis's no matter how often I wash/change their nappies. Its driving me mad cause Dh keeps saying 'get sposies' but I dont want to unless its a very last resort. I think its from chaffing wet nappies as Jetts cleared up once he started wearing undies (and Ripleys isnt as bad as Jetts). I already change them a ton and give them nappy free time.
-
I use it all the time Anna.....gotta do what works and i find it the best powder for their bums.
oh someone asked about Bicarb washing.......Christy put me onto it ages ago and I havent looked back. I use about 3 table spoons full, but once to twice a week only. the restof hte time i dont use anything at all. Since iver started doing it ive noticed that vy goesnt have a ready rash butt from her night time nappy and Mateauz doesnt have it all the time either, only when certain molars are coming thorugh
-
Maz - which wipe solution are you using? He won't even let me take off his nappy and then we have to wait until we can clean him, and then have to wait until he lets us put on a new nappy. (ehehehe, he peed all over DH this morning)
Am seriously thinking of second skin stuff. The poor little man has blisters :(
WoHB - was ummmm dunno, it was lovely though. Now it's a BP. Will be a FB next
Might also try washing with bicarb / nothing too.
Maz - you have 2 weekends to get better!!!!!! Ahhh Advancetown, lovely area. Some beautiful homes on the outskirts. Pity you're not going up in summer, the Nerang River has some of the best swimming/ paddling in summer, abolutely freezing though!
-
:hello:
Quick pop in - I'm at work.
So cranky today - I'm ready to flog the stupid mole that works on different days to me. I've written my boss a very nasty email directed towards her so she is going to get in trouble on Monday hahaha.
Stupid mole - I'm the friggin precedents manager - not HER.. grrrrr.... I need my hockey stick to give her a good floggin.
Anyhoooo
Hope all are well. Better get back to it.
*mwah*
-
 Mel. Hope she gets a whooping!!
We have figured out what to do when Em gets a reaction!!! The only place she rashes with a dairy reaction is her bits, and it was taking AAAGGGGEEESSSSS to clear up. She needs Hydrocortizone on it and it cleared in a couple of days!! So glad DH has hydrocortizone cream for his skin thing (hereditary, FIL has it too but worse)
Kat - No nanny goat replacing said BLs? Maybe call the water authority and find out if it ended up in the lost and found, they catch things like keys regularly :p
Gigi - I haven't but when I went to bed the other day DH did  typical.
Smoz - Me too hun  I have to go back to work when the baby bonus finshes. Better re-write my resume soon.

Quick question, before I go make birthday pancakes...
I have 18 Bum Genius that are under warranty, and the elastic is not stretchy enough and is about to disintegrate in all of them, and the velcro is shabby on most of them. I have a return authorisation form from the selling company, but it says that the elastic must be completely shot before they will be replaced/repaired. Should I risk paying to post them all back only to potentially have them sent back to me again at my expense?
I'm going overseas in a week, and wont be using them again until July (I'm taking swaddlebees!), but by then they will be out of warranty. What to do... I would very much like to come home to brand new nappies for DS!
WOAB: shabby BumG
-
haha mel , never mess with a pg woman !!!!
shells - maz will be taken hostage and taken to TCNS!!!!
the sun is out today !! so we are back in ittits and magicallls, i cant wait to stock up on large size ittis at the baby expo !!!!!
i just cleaned gab's poo but i can stll smell it
ETA - NANA -- maybe break the elastic your self  and send them back , but i would talk to the nappy place and plead your case ??
-
Nana...can you ring them perhaps???
Alioops...NOPE DH said not to worry about the babylegs.....when she told me yesturday......i sat there fuming...but had to keep a calm look on my face...all the time she was telling me she was laughing!!!!! well now i hope the toilet blocks!!!!!!...
-
I've emailed them, and they said to send back the ones I think should be sent back. Well.... that's a bit ambiguous. I think they're all going to be shagged within a couple of months, BUT they're not going to be used for the next month, and that's when the warranty is up. What a conundrum. Better go sort thru them and pull out the worst of them, and stick to terry flats for the week!
Fluff - about the BL. Silly nanny goat, she wouldn't be laughing if she was told to replace the flushed item, would she?
-
she would probably crack the shiats if asked..... no skin off my nose....we don't pay her for minding Jack soooo even stevens....
BUT i am mighty cranky about it....
-
So this TCNS is the one in kingston am i correct??? Oh please please tell me when we are going i've been meaning to go again like i said its 5mins away i just never get round to it
-
When people say "CT" are they Cushi Tushie or Cute Tushie or something else altogether?
Also, very bravely last night I put an MCN on DD for overnight- first time ever (given I have only had them 10 days..) Anyway it was a BBH bamboo fitted with the 2 inserts and a tri-fold bamboo booster with a Motherease Rikki cover. It just leaked out the top of the cover onto her PJ waistband which I thought was done up tighly enough. Some I am wondering in this situation if a wool cover would be better for night?
-

-
is there anyone willing to hyena a DM for me at their next stocking??
-
Yeah SMOZ, same shop. I dont know any other IRL shops in bris. Are you going to go to the baby expo?, I dont know how to PM links but am pretty sure someone here can help cause you can get a free ticket from the site.
Yay for meeting up wif Maz. I can be chief picker upper and driver if you guys want to organise time/place. Could go down to Sanctuary Cove, close for Maz and lots of good licenced resturants/coffee shops.
Mel, have PMed you
-
I started the Bi carb from last time it was mentioned... i use bout 2 teaspons for my daily wash... also for things u use softner for u can use vinegar. ( i was told)
Since the lastest formula tin with their added bits we've had dioreah issues. My poor bubs must have such a sensitive tummy... I have just gone and brought 4 tins of the older ones so hopefully we wont have the issue for a while until i can find another solution... Damn my bloody BBs for failing to nourish her longer. this formula crap is driving me batty... Why dose every brand affect her... And all with different side affects... Grrr...
Sorry not really MCN related... But its an issue cos her pop is staining the naps... the sun isnt taking the stains out either... Anything i can do???
-
Keep sunning them jess. Oh - and have you tried goats milk formula? More gentle on tums. Wouldn't use vinegar on nappies but - bad for elastic (so i've read)
:hello: Kitt3n :)
Teru - I could hyena for you if it wasn't on a work day? So if its not on a friday should be cool.
Better go do some work. otherwise the STUPID MOLE will come in and do it without any AUTHORITY to do so.
pfft.
Sorry - still pretty peeved here!!!!!!
OOh - and one of the girls is getting fired today - at 4pm. Should be .. uh.. interesting. Boss wants me to stay out the back with her while she shuts her computer down incase she decides to delete any files or whatever on the server.. bwahahaha... I'm on back office duty apparently.
Should be uh.. interesting. Might need a nappy for myself if things look to be gettin nasty!
-
Oh Mel that sounds like an aweful position to be in...Hope things go ok.
Its been raining here for few days so not much sun. hopefully next lot of big sun should get rid of it... (fingers crossed... )
Oh and Yeah no vinegar for MCN's was just saying for like towels or sheets u can use it for a softner
-
Not much happening here nappy wise...although..i have a MOUNTAIN hung on the clothes horse...Jack looks at/stares and gets all excited!!!! looking at nappies.....see my boy does have good taste :)
not much else happening..
oh i do have a question...
Jack can't for the life of hime wear his medium IB's any more (well they are like speedos on him so he can get into them) soo we have been using his large IB's....BUT...we are getting horrible horrible wing droop..snaps are meeting in the centre...and still a tad biggish around the legs..BUT if i put him in his speedo IB's he out wets it in like 5mins....all up the front of him....what should i do????????????
WOJB ~ ivory IB

maz could always bring a snap press with her to the melbourne meet up and put some extra snaps in for you :)
