Lea, Yer, what Gigi said....
Kat/Maz, I cant believe I am going to be in the same state as you all and I wont get to meet you.:(
Wow, this packing to take a baby away is a whole new deal isn't it? I started last night. So much to remember.... and all of it essential. I think I have less then 1/4 of the suitcase dedicated to me. How the hell did that happen?
Have taken 6 pockets with 6 spare inserts and 4 ittis. I will have to wash everyday, but thats fine, in theory the pockets plus inserts makes 12 nappies so that will be heaps.
I am starting to get very scared about taking my kid on a plane to vic with this flu thing. Vic girls, we dont hear as much of it up here as you do, any tips?
Gotta run, he he gotta go buy new jeans, cant fit my fat bum in my pre preg jeans and cant go to melb in shorts
Lil man has an osteo app too.
Have a great day xxx

Hun i am taking Jack on the plane to Melb. i spoke with our GP on Monday in regards to this and he said it is all over-exagerated, it is just another strain of the flu...nothing to be overly worried about he is actually going to melb on friday aswell and not concerned. As long as bub is a healthy bub you basically have nothing to be worried about.
Hmmm nappies.... well i haven't even started packing yet!!!! Thursday night i will pack everything and then do the finishing touches on Friday morning (hoping fingers crossed all nappies are dry!!!)
-
thanks ladies, had akready rolled them in a towell but not layed them on a dry towell , just on the clothes horse ... hopefully they will be dry today ...
got lots of nappies to wash , but its raining ... grr so now its TT for a day or two so the washed naps can dry on the clothes horse over a few days ... grrr @ winter !!
-
the chemist said that if your going to the airport to wear a mask and thats exactly what im doing on friday when I pick up Jodi. I cant afford for my little M to get sick full stop cause of his CP
shiat gotta get dressed and take kids to school and then take M for his 12 month needles
-
2 days worthe of nappies got rained on last night on the balcony.
Whoever was the architect for this place should have made the eaves bigger than the damn balcony! argh.
I so need a spare room.
WOHB - cute tooshie Ai2.........

Teru - I read your suggestion before bed and yep you guessed it - I was lying there counting nappies lol How sad is it when your last thoughts at night are about nappies?
Fingers crossed for Ali today girls - she has her OB appointment.
Jess - Saw Tiahna on the IB site, very cute.
Kitt3n - I know exactly how you feel. The same thing happened to me yesterday! At least they get another rinse right? lol
Maz - do whatever you have to do to protect your littlies from getting sick hun.
Shell - You certainly sound cool calm and collected. When I took DS on our first trip away I was sooooooo flustered!!!
Off to the post office - hopefully I have some mail. Probably not of the fluffy sort though.
WOPB: Bumble Bee CT - soon to be changed.

how'd you go today ali ???
my loniges are dry and they are on gabis bum :) yay !!!!!
they are a little too long for her tho ... she is such a shortie !! i must get another pair .. anyone tried the ebay ones ?? they look smaller so they might fit gabs better, she is currently wearing the 6mths size in llamjama .. or anyone know smaller makes ??
what about trim narrow crotch fitted ? all my BBH are too bulky for gabi .. even when floded down ...
and its the only style of fitteds i have .... thinking about swaddlebees or itti fitteds but im not too sure about absorbency
-
Kozy designs are smaller (I have found) than llamajama. The large fits DS like a glove, whereas his llamajamas are quite baggy on him. So you could give them a try maybe?
As for fitteds - spunky butts are pretty trim in the crotch area - some people say cute tooshies too - but I think they are pretty wide myself. Or the itti bitti ones - they are trim yeah?
Ali - do tell!!
'allo 'allo to everyone else. Here but just stalking until I get two secs to post. Electricians are here (and have been since early morning) installing new lights and fans in every room. We now have a nice silver fan in the loungeroom.DH thinks that will make people want to buy the house.. ROFL... pffft.. don't think so man..
WOTB's: nappies. Um. yeah. Nappies.

Thanks CM and Lea ;)
I saw the Ob today (senior reg, not senior Ob but she tells him what she wants and he says yes) and we have the plan in place!!! She will do a VE next appointment and if my cervix is favourable (which it is, I have felt it) she wants me to be at the hospital at about 6:30am on the 15th to break my waters. If the induction fails then they will do an emergency CS. So I should have her by dinner time on the 15th considering I have quick labours!! I will use the birthing stool (considering that is the only position I can birth in, I cant roll onto my side which is what they usually do with DSP) and for pain relief I will use the tens and water before I consider the epi. So in the meantime we continue to do as much home induction as possible and if she comes earlier - Fantastic!!
So on the 15th the little fluffies come out to play!!!
Sarah is being a rebel. She took her nappy off during her nap time and then woke Em. she is now whingeing and FIL is trying to make her see sense. 3 year olds
Lea - roll up the legs hun. Too long in the legs is always better than not long enough.
Those traveling with nappies - do you have a whole suitcase set aside for nappies? The teeny tiny ones fill half my suitcase and I am not even going to bother weighing it!! I dont think I am quite that game with more than 1 in nappies!!
-
hi girls,
Just thought I'd pop my head in and say hello. :hello:
I've got 1 in nappies now- night only and #2 on the way, so busily trying to work myself out for cloth-bumming a newborn!!! The options are raging through my head and I seem to change my mind every week.
I didn't have DS in cloth until about 7months, so this little baby thing is all new to me with cloth- but I'm soooo excited!!!
xx

Hey girls,
How do I pre-wash and wash my eco-bubs?? It's the wool one. Just throw it in with my other one's and do cold prewash then warm or cold wash with mild detergent?!!? as per usual? :dunno: I tried looking on their website but can't see wash instructions.
TIA :D
WOHB: GK Minky Pink Retro - love it!
-
Hi Hailey!!! I am about to start clothing a NB and have some of each style of nappy for her. It really depends on the bubs though so we will see how we go!!
Ren - I think it is a cold wash (being wool I wouldnt do hot because of the shrink factor)
And a little quicky from me as promised

Ren - I just chuck it in with the rest of the nappies - so I do a cold prewash and then a warm wash. Or if I forget to change it, its a cold wash. I dont think it shrinks like longies and stuff do cos of the way its milled - or something...
Ali - congrats on having a date babe! Thats awesome!! Here comes those fluffies!! woohooo!!!!!! I can't wait to get mine out again - sooooo long to wait though!!!
Hi Hailey - I found prefolds and a good cover with gussets were the perfect recipe for clothing a newborn's butt!! actually, fitteds and covers were by far the best way to go for us here. Wasn't till she was around 3 months that I put her in AIO's and stuff :)
WOAB: Grizzly guts is wearing a blue HH. He is nearly asleep on my lap, but I juiced him up with some snake lollies so I could get him through till bed time.. rofl... ahhh.. mean mumma.
WOMB: Special custom GF. Love them now that I have my new snaps! Awesome fit.
