personally i dont like the cushie tushie, they never seemed to fit right, with skinny waist adn chubby thighs there wasn't enough movement in adjustment
we have only every use OSFM on our children i didnt do teh Nb or sized except for itti bitti but their medium fit DD from 4 kg to DD1 who is 13 KG..
thats how my girls are.
long and lean, but with thunder thighs lol
personally i think they would fit a baby who was chubby all over, or skinny all over, as there is only one row of snaps and not 2 so you cant pull in for waist and let out for thighs.
I founbd the rise good and width between legs good, just not enough adjustment for me.
this si only personal opinion. not a professional one.
just wondering when we have another baby, can i use the bamboo inserts from my pea pods as prefolds? would that work well?
Audax - good job on the knitting, my mum and nan tried to teach me and i just couldnt pick it up!! Hopeless! Thanks for the info on Snappis too! Sounds like you have a pretty decent stash already miss!
I only have a few prefolds and a couple AIOs ... trying to buy second hand and lots of different ones to see how we go! I have NO covers tho atm, need to get cracking!
Maz - thanks for the info on wool vs PUL too, am now officially back to square one hahaha, might get a couple of each and see how we go!
Hi all :)
Well have been out of the thread for a while now but thought I should stick my toe in again and test the waters!
Looong way to go still but want to get back in the swing of things - Bump will have been out of nappies for 18 months by the time Speck arrives. ;)
Tell me girls is it Ok to store your naps for a few years between kids? Or does the elastic get brittle? I am still having kids and don't really wanna be having to buy a new batch of naps each time I have a baby. I have worked out some naps that are just crap, the elastic won't go thru one kid let alone trying to last two. Or if it isn't the elastic its the pul coming of the minkee. I am on the hunt for a nappy that willl last long term and pref an OSFA. Is there such a thing out there? I had heard the NZ made honeychild was made with hospital grade materials for hardwearing and long lasting. Yes I do use flats as well and love my mcns just wanting a basic workhorse nappy that will go the distance - happy to pay good money for it.
WOSB - Newborn prefold in blue
WODB - Wild Child minkee tiedye
halltribe- i have ABSOLUTELY no experience but have been told the NZ "nudey! rudey!" brand is really good as well...
ammaki- i am doing the same with 2nd hands and so far have an interesting combination of things! i am currently searching for fitteds and covers (already have some prefolds) cos our stuff tends to take 5million years to dry no matter what...but i think when bubs arrives i will be wanting more aio simply cos im lazy and DF is hopeless with anything baby related :P
cmarfol I just bought 3 covers off a BB member second hand, she has some wool ones still available, did you want me to link you the thread?
thanks but nah we are avoiding wool, DF and i both have a reaction to it so rnt taking the chance that bubs will as well. kinda sad cos that means no cute little soakers or anything :(
Oh sorry i think i remember reading that! She has 2 PUL BBH small covers, i was going to buy both but am considering one PUL & one wool if you wanted the other one :D only $6 + postage i think! Although do you know the sex of bubba because i think they are pink lol
haha yeah i think i might get in trouble buying pink, we are having a boy. ive already tried buying something purple cos it was so cute and its not like bubs will care but no, no girly stuff for our lil man
Purple is girly? My sister is having a boy and has purple garments. I thought it was unisex. I see purple on boys all the time.
Hmmmmm, i really need fluffy mail! I wonder when wrigglebots is getting more stock in so I can make a custom order.
The mothers at my playgroup all use sposies so I am quite disappointed there is no other fluff addicts there.
WOCB: Raspberry Sorbet Abby Gro Minky all days.
all teh ladies i work with are old, so no cloth lovers there either...
uim trying to convernt a few people hubby works with and actually most of them use cloth :d so lots of cloth talk at his work things lol
 dont forgot to share a pic chicky. I can knit...a scarfe but thats about it....give me fabric and a sewing machine and can just about do anything. What kind of soakers did you make hon? was it a certain pattern?
how big are the inserts teresa? I think that makes great sense, would be nice and absorbent. How would you go about closing them off? pins? I would be worried aobut using a snappi on it as its there is no loop as such on bamboo and might pull the threads out thats all.
Ive used BBH fittedf rom when mini me was born and we're still using them...almost 4 years on. Only problem we have is that the elastic is out stretched and has to be redone. I dont know if the elestic would do brittle as such as most nappies are made with swim elastic. id be more worried about people using cheap elastic in their products. This is going to sound stupid but Ive got undies sitting from about 3 years ago that my fat arse dont fit into and the elastic is still fine.
I hope that helps
thats really cheap, especially seeing their not in them for that long.
Lime babe - Im so happy to see you back in here...for all the right reasons :D
WOMB - Micheal Miller skulls auriel
WOVB - my foot if she doesnt stop signing so loudly
I thought it looked like a bargain maz, am hoping to get 3 covers and a peapod AIO (all small) for $28, works out $7 each! AND she lives near by so hopefully i can pick them up!
