lol, thanks Melbel. Sorry Helle I went to reply but DD started being a pain in the rear. If you make the paste thick enough then you can just dab it on the areas where it is really needed.
Heys ladies and germs :)
I'm baaaaaack!!!! Little Master William has been in cloth since birth, although I did  use some disposable wipes on the mencomium (sp?) at home. First nappy cover at hospy was a Maz xmas one. Doing the first load tomorrow morning!
WoWB - "freshly baked" widdlewun
Welcome back Kaz. Grats again on the arrival of William!
I had my first ever load of fluff that wasn't destunk by RG today. It was putrid poo smell and had to run the machine again. first load ever (3 months almost) that has happened to.

Sorry Helle, didn't think of the wool!
Welcome back Kaz :D Summer was in cloth in hossy too, til she had her final gp checkup & the mw put a sposie on her to go home. I didn't think to take any with me for that!
I used theirs.
I use mostly sposie wipes though... they are easier than going to the bathroom/kitchen every time. I dunno, the 4 kids & no time might just be an excuse, but it'll do me for now, lol!
Coffs to finish the christmas shopping today. Hectic!
WOSB - Daddle doo night nappy & jam tots pul cover (i really need more fleece ones!!)
WOJB - blue minky maz night nappy
We were told not to take cloth to hospy, so bought a pack of sposies... and used 3. WASTE!
WONB: Purple Auriel... which I don't like the fit of! Boooooo.
We used cotton wool pads with water as wipes for the first few weeks- so that's disposable! Kept using the cloth wipes for our older boy- it was just easier to cart the cotton wool around than hunt out cloth wipes all the time. Now Im a little more organised we're using the cloth wipes for both of them. No disposable nappies so far :D
There is alot of newborn cloth going on in here at the moment- yay!!

WOIB- fushia itti, put on by DF!! go him
Arimeh gave me a great tip for wipes - a thermos! What I do is fill up the thermos with hot water and add some wipe drops to it - then I just dunk the wipes into it (aloowing them to cool before using on bub if it's still hot of course!) and one thermos usually keeps well for 1-2 days. No running back and forward to taps and baby has a nice warm wipe on her butt, not an icy cold wipe on her precious bits (man if someone wiped me down there with an icy cold wipe they would get a kick in the head!!)
WOMB - BB Wooly night (still asleep)
WOAB - Lushie/thirsties cover (also still asleep)
That's a fantastic idea with the thermos. The cold water comes out of the tap warm here because the ground gets so hot from Octoberish-Marchish. From about Jan to march we don't have to touch the hot tap with baths/showers at all. DD doesn't get icy bits
Waiting for a fluff load to finish. I have no idea what DD ate but the nappy bucket smell made me hurl first thing this morning. Damn this increased smell and nausea. Nappies went straight into the machine and the buckets are going to get wiped out with lavendar oil and aired today. It's going to be 40+ for the next few days so my fluff will dry in 2 hours tops
WOCB: Orange Abby Gro
Lucky you CL! We have rain & are expecting more rain. Gonna take 2 - 3 days for my nappies to dry!
Busy day, must move!
WOSB - cheapo purple ebay stars :)
newborn fluff packed away already :( I know it's wonderful that she is so healthy but she is only (already) 7 weeks!!!
WOMB - Bb wooly night, just woke up
WOMB - Rose Splitzie Auriel
awwww kitt3n that has flown by!!!!
i just keep buying NB fluff....hhehehehe
How was everyone's Christmas?
Kitt3n- WOW! That 7 weeks went super fast!
~Clover~ the nappies actually ended up only taking 45 mins to dry because of a super hot wind. It was like walking outside into a hairdryer stream for 2 days straight. Needless to say I either hibernated in a/c or when the sun dipped I was in the pool
WOCB: I can't remember...
Just checking in from my mums still using cloth here but sposies at night for monkey but still full time for squidgy
WOMB: sposie and maz cover
WOSB: purple DM
so much for not buying anymore till next year, i just got a black and red daisy abby gro, just got to pay for it.... hoping she puts some more up soon, wouldnt mind getting a few of them! havent used a sposie for a bit now, but i have got 2 in the nappy bag, just incase, been out that many times and i always seem to pack heaps more then she needs, probably will till i figure out how long each one can last and how often she needs a change!
WOKB: pink pea pod with night booster
It's very slow in here at the moment expecting a few things of mail then that's it for us :( but I definately have enough nappies now will have to dig out the nb ones to sell and give away

Were on a camping trip atm so no washing facilities so we are in sposies... I miss DS cloth booty :(
On the plus side DS is having a ball! Grotty little bush kid ;)
we have gone on holidays and done cloth....just ook a HUGE wetbag...rinsed nappies well stashed em in the wetbag and then washed when we got home.....
we did camping with Pip in cloth last year - a week. took a platic clip-lid tub and put them in there, worked well to take them up to the laundry.
Still no sposie has touched his butt!!!! Although DH wants to buy sposies cause he's still being precious about cloth.
WoWB - pink BBB + t3 cover, not sure what brand? polka dots :)
No machine here. And I don't have a weeks worth and they wouldn't dry fast enough hand washing.
Happy New Year!!!
my dryer broke the other day, so i have been buying more nappies, i have 7 on the way in the post:o, and waiting to here back about a goochi one. i did have enough using the dryer to wash every 2 days, now i have to wash every 4 changes and hope its a nice day!!! cant wait for aus post to start there deliveries again tuseday! here i am waiting for some yesterday, and then im told its aus post picnic day, no mail!! was shattered, waiting for a abby gro, cushie giraffe print, 3 fluffy bubs, and some others i cant remember! i got in trouble off df the other day, i decided to sell the 2 petites i had, i was holding onto them untill this bub comes, but figured i dont like the fit on dd, i probably wont like them on the next bub! i told him they sold quick as, and he said why sell them, could have used them for the next bub!!! i told him it was ok, theyve already been replaced:rofl:
ETA: WOKB: itti classic, waiting for her to wake for her night one....
We are back from the bush! Oh how i missed cloth. Both for baby and Mumma!
Happy New Year!! We were away for a week and used cloth the whole time but DH spent 2 hours at a laundromat mid week :( I half thought about just rinsing and washing when we got home but we probably wouldn't have had enough nappies (def not enough night ones) and I was worried about the elastic being broken down by the wee. We're going to NZ for a week in February though and we won't use cloth on that trip but we are still considering taking night nappies at least.
DD is starting day care for a couple of days a week this month. We are going to ease her into it with just a couple of hours a day this month then a bit longer next month and start the full 2 days in March. We are able to use cloth nappies (woot woot!!) and I bought a heap of itti bitti clearance ones and will pre do them with the liner and have them all together. Just wondering about labelling them. Do I just use normal name labels? Where abouts should I place them on the nappies? Has anyone done this before? Also.....the centre has specifically asked for a bucket which is fine but I would like to get a big wet bag to put inside the bucket. Anyone know where I can get a good sized one?
TIA
WOHB: Baby beehinds night nappy with PUL cover
How exciting starangelk! I can't remember where I saw good sized wetbags... might have been nature's cradle? Can't remember the brand, or the site, or anything remotely helpful. Sorry. As for name labels, attach them to the Itti label, especially if you have stitch-on labels. Having them pre-done with the liner is a great idea - you would be amazed at how often nappy fail occurs in childcare.
We've been having a cloth-tastic time, although struggling a bit with all the rain. Some stuff takes 3-4 days to dry on the indoor line, but my mega-stash keeps me going! DH is rapidly developing favourites - still in love with the CTBD, but also loves the old-skool MagicAlls (that were $4 or something ridiculous!) and the Bambooty easy-dry. My faves are the Bubblebubs AIOs. Funny, because pre-birth, he wanted some velcro nappies, whereas I thought I'd prefer snaps, and now she's here and it turns out we've reversed!
WONB: ME Sandys, with BBH booster, homemade booster liner and mauve loveybums cover. Delicious.
Ooooh thanks Audax. I'll head over to nature's cradle and check it out. I bought the clearance itti's so the label has been cut off unfortunately.....do you think the iron on ones will still work if I put them at the back of the nappy inside? So like where a pants label would be?
Yay for mega stashes! I found velcro heaps easier in the early days but when DD started to chub up a bit the snaps were better for her around the thighs for some reason. Plus, I am a bit hopeless with velcro and kept sticking it to her shirt, my shirt, the blanket on the changetable - anything but where it was supposed to go
We use baby safaris at day care but he kept having his pants changed so sposies are the go until I can remember to remind them that he's in cloth or I'll use the green kids when they get here I scored 7 for $76 woo hoo lol and someone has kindly given me some too never tried them I hope they go good on both kiddies then I might replace a bulk of our stash then DH might change bums just have to make sure DS has pants on or it will be riiiiiiiiip lol
WOMB: sposie and maz cover
WOSB: recycle DM
Try it, like a pants label. Are they te iron on ones with the round corners, or square ones? Round ones seem to stay on better. Would you consider writing your name across the nappy in laundry marker? Could be done on each of the layers if you got the snap ins.
Reminds me, we had an IttiLeak today, around the thighs. Annoying! Partly due to madam's epic sleep, but also poor fit, which is a bummer!
They are rectangles, no round edges. Can't believe I didn't think to use a permanent marker - OMG. *shakes head*
3 weeks old and epic sleep? Woot Woot!!
J.......what do you mean "kept having his pants changed?" Does daycare change every X hours or something? We only change DD every 3 hours at home and not at all overnight - is that normal?
Tripple J, was that the ones on ebay by chance?? i was looking at them, but compleatly forgot and remembered to late, theyd just ended!!!
Starangelk, i only change dd when she needs a change, more often when its hot as shes a sweaty little thing, and shes in the one nappy all night.
Hi all!
Been quiet here because MS has me mostly sleeping right now. DD is teething on top of it so been really wiped. I still have her in cloth though :D
Strangeelk I PMed you a link for a decent sized wetbag!
