Just sold off the last of our naps.
End of an era, but too many leaks (big pee er) and too much trouble getting jeans to sit nicely over them means that the love has gone.
I can honestly say, that I didnt save a cent LOL, In fact, it prolly cost me more.
But I met some lovely folks and had the thrill of stalking the postie on many a day.

:lol: With Pixie she was always too long for the wondersuit style suits yet they looked like we had dressed her in something way too big with how baggy it was. She's still long and lean and loses her pants on a regular occasion :p:
I can't do the snaps up if I put a bonds suit over a night nappy. Other brands the same size are ok. I have a B'gosh suit & a Kmart suit both in the same size & they still fit over night nappies fine :)

got my bumGs delivered today!! yipee.
but im confused as to how to wash them. the organics say i can tumble dry, but the normal 4.0 says to line dry...
anyone else have these nappys,is tumble drying really that bad for them...?
i just looked at the receipt for my pop in and i thought i ordered the duck egg blue colour but the receipt says pumpkin! guess DS will be wearing pumpking then :wall: probably should have checked that before i said proceed to payment :rolleyes: :lol:
I would say because the organics have a bamboo inner, you can dry them - on low. You wouldn't need to dry the 4.0's cos they are pockets (nothing sewn in to dry!) and they dry REALLY quickly, as do the inserts, so no need to use the dryer.:
Its not particularly recommended to put them in the dryer, because people do it too hot and destroy the PUL, however, putting them in on low is fine.
thanks AE! i just opened up one of the pocket ones, and i can tumble the inserts. but the outer is really lightweight so wont take long at all to dry. :):
line dry the outers and tumble dry the inserts. The PUL in the shell will get killed if you tumble dry that bit. Maybe they put line dry on because people were chucking shells through the dryer? just a note too, if your tumble dry too often your inserts/boosters become thinner and less absorbant. the dryer actually shaves the lint off them and wears them out faster. Air dry as much as possible to prevent this. I usually line dry mine until there is only a touch of dampness left and then finish them off in the dryer for 10 mins or so.:
we dry them all on the airers. they mostly dry overnight for shells and inserts, and terry flats dry within 24 hours normally :)
I dry mine on clothes airers inside. They used to be out on my verandah, but all the moisture in the air isn't helping us, so they are all huddled around the fire place ;)
Usually will have them all dry within 24 hours, long as the fire goes all night :)

I only prewashed it once but that's no different to any other brand I have.

my candies are too big for C and she is almost 4 months old.. the sides leaked. I think with their OSFM cause they have no front snaps to make it smaller it would have to be for a bigger baby...
We are on our last day of my holiday so C is in sposies all day so I don't have dirty nappies to take home. We are going straight from the airport to camping on nrth straddie island so she will be in sposies the whole time.

DS wore his candie for 7 hours straight, no leaks. but iv decided i dont like them. not a fan of the side snaps.
am in love with my new BGs though!! have already ordered a bunch more :)

Yeah I think the side snaps are cute but not practical. I think it may suit better when he is a bit bigger :)
I think my fav's in our stash are the ittis and I love his bonnibuns.

im not fussed on side or front DD has mostly DM's (side) and magicalls (front) and even a few with velcro
Side snaps aren't the greatest fit on DD, & I've pinched her leg in the snaps twice now :(
But I do prefer them (depending on the brand), coz I'm not keen on the wing droop I sometimes get...
But front snaps are a better fit...

Went to the chemist in town that stocks moogoo... They have every MG product except the nappy cream, waaaahhh!!! Now I have to order it online.
I'm losing my love of cloth nappies slowly.
I love them, they are great on DS's bum and easy to use, but being pregnant I cannot stand changing them. Poos are just :sick: and he has really strong smelling urine at the moment (unless I'm at fault for that one and leaving it too long between changes)...

lol, I had the same issue with DD at the start but now I just ignore it. The only thing that makes me gag is the ammonia fumes in the nappy bucket as I'm loading the washing machine. I actually sniffed a jar of garlic a few times prior to a nappy change so the smell would be stuck up my nose and I'd avoid the nappy stench!
i just use the MSM soothing cream,not the nappy cream. its really good. :):

I heard somewhere on the grapevine the nappy balm was no good with MCNs because it had bees wax in it?
Yeah, the nappy balm has beeswax and zinc oxide in. Both clog MCNs. MSM cream is freaking AWESOME stuff and will clear a red bottom on the Pixie in about 1-2 hours. I use it on most nappy changes to prevent and create a barrier in case she gets a nasty bout of burning teething wee/poo.

Ds also gets mild eczema. I slather him in the msm cream after his bath at night from head to toe and it works a treat. Can't remember the last time he had a bad spot.
So is msm cream Ok to use straight on her bum no liners? She has a rash still, like red spots n i cant use her normal creams without a liner so if msm can be used without it i can go get some!

Yup no liner needed. The general rule is that if it can be rubbed into the skin completely then no liner needed. If it acts as a barrier and can't be rubbed in - liner needed.
its just like a moisturiser. absorbs really nicely into the skin. i agree with CL,it clears any redness up by the next nappy change. :):
DS has the most awful nappy rash at the moment :( nothing seems to be helping!
It's on his bum, creases, thighs ... it's red and shiny and hard and raised, and it's no fun for him at all ...
I'm wondering if he's getting more teeth ... ? I really hope something starts working soon ...

ouch! Pixie gets burning bum from teething wee and poo. We were out one day and DP says all of a sudden "something is burning the side of my stomach a bit". Turns out pixie's nappy had leaked. If my very un wussy DP comments on a burning sensation imagine what it'd feel like near pixie's bits?!? The MSM cream is really awesome for teething burn hun, have you tried it?
WOCB: nothing, airing a little after 12 hours in a nappy. Will be aqua gelato abby gro
i hate the burning bottom that comes with teething :( poor DS screams when i wipe his bottome clean after he does a poo coz it hurts so much. its days like that i feel like the worst mother in the world for allowing that to happen even tho i know its beyond my control :(

WOHB - sposie. i got lazy when i got him up this morning.
So does my DS. :( We get the calendula ointment onto his bum when its that bad. It just does the job so much faster. I'll put it on his bum at night with a sposie and it'll be clear the next day.:

oh had a bit of a sad moment today when i put bubs nappy on... his Tutto didnt fit properly so i had to un snap the front... for the first time my baby isnt using the newborn setting... dam it now i cant say he is still kind of a newborn ROFL

Sent a link on MSM cream to you peanutter. You should be able to find a local stockist somewhere in the site too. It's awesome stuff and the only thing I'll use on DD's bum and my problem skin areas now.
