It depends on the child though Kylz. Pixie has always been a heavy wetter and at 4 months I had to change her every hour. We're in a dry climate so she drinks loads.
DP was a tad confused on the cloth at the start but DD had reactions to sposies if she was in them for more than 1 change. He realised it was better for her bum if we used the cloth, lass rashing and such. DP has always been okay with making mistakes and asking how to do baby related stuff if needed though so that attitude helped.
ETA: I'm a tad baffled as to why the ecostore only rashes Pixie up during teething. The nappies smelt the same wee wise with no rash resulting during the Purity liquid batch. Maybe a residue from the ecostore and alkalinity/acid levels in wee react? It's more like a burn than a rash.
you shouldn't use any detergent with enzymes (most normal stuff) because the enzymes will build up in the boosters and prevent the absorbancy.
Rockin green, eco store, earth choice... they are all enzyme free.
I haven't tried the pail stuff yet, still on it's way here. Can't wait cause our bucket smells!!!!
I just bought the tutto limited edition Danube, I have had my eye on it from that uk website for $21 but I didn't buy it when I bought my pop ins and low and behold, they are sold out!! GRRRR... so I paid $31.95 from ninky bear plus $6.30 postage. Postage is SUCH a killer these days!! It costs less to get something posted from UK than it does to post within australia!!!

We're kinda the same, only no teeth here. But the ecostore doesn't always rash her up. Huh.
We haven't had any sposies in the house since DD was born. So my DH has no choice at all. What I do do for him, though, is have one row on the change table that are "easy" ones for him, so he doesn't have to worry about what fits, doesnt fit, needs a cover, needs an extra booster, blah blah blah. He's really good now.

Doing a Purity load here. She just had the peak of teeth breaking through runny poo and that alone burnt her butt. I chucked her straight in a bath to dilute any ecostore residue on her skin and to make sure it was right out of her pores. It seems to have done the job and bum was just pink. She has a Purity washed nappy on right now so hoping the redness/teeth/ecostore theory pans out because she was a tad restless last night with her sore bum. It was really hot to the touch and felt like the first layer was burnt off with that rough feeling.

lol, I was thinking more "poor Grandpa" by the way he turned green. She was helping him plaster in the hallway by passing him nails at the time of big smelly poo. The little trooper isn't that fazed today so obviously the mass discomfort has gone. She's such a bubbly thing :D

mummajj - I had DD in a white frilly floral dress once and someone thought she was a boy. I just ran with it and said her name was Neville. She has some pretty blokey nappies, handmedowns from her cousin, mostly. I pair them with a pink top, or cover them up and we're mostly right.

I shouldnt probably admit this - but my DH changes every nappy on the weekend and nights. He also changes the middle of the night poo job from Sahti at the moment. He is fine with mcn, but we have been using them for 3 years so maybe that is why?

AE: DH changes mcn's here no problem! And sposies. He has never had issues with nappies. Apart from calling them tutu's he is good and knowing brands and which boosters go where.
Are bumgenius good? They are soo expensive here and you can't get them from overseas (they don't post them to australia? maybe BG have a thingy saying they are not allowed to sell to any other country?)

My DH changes any nappy that might be a poo because they make me vomit right now. Isn't that terrible? DD is 11 months and I've suddenly developed an aversion to changing poos! I had to take her off the changetable and put her on the floor half naked and run to the bathroom - :lol:
I've just ordered some extra BBH's - took advantage of the 3 for 2 sale.
Any of you use rockin green? What are the advantages? We use regular washing powder and have no dramas. No smelly nappies, they are a little on the stuff side but nothing major at all and they come up sooo soft in the dryer.

My DH doesn't *love* changing nappies, but he can do it. If the opportunity arises to get out of it, he will. He will do any household chore to get out of changing a nappy, and I will use any possible excuse to get out of household chores, especially changing nappies, so it works quite well. And I'm a professional.
I tried to calculate how many nappies I have changed in my life once. I know it's over 1000, but it hurts my head to even try.
Star: just normal washing powder? That may have enzymes in it and would be bad for your nappies. The block the fibres from the full absorbancy.
I use eco store, way cheaper than rockin green and just from woolies.
Sorry, not normal normal - it's that Aware sensitive natural one. We've been using it for 11 months now and very very few leaks :) I might check eco store out - does it give the same smell? I can't understand what the big fuss is about rockin green.......

rockin green is good because depending on your water (hard, normal or soft) you can use the right detergent for it. Also it smells good?

i have 20 all up now of the pockets 4.0v and a couple of the AIO. they are between $38-$45 on the website. but i found them for $15.25 and $19.95!!! google justkidsstore. i paid about $35 postage from U.S.(for 10) but worth it. i LOVE them. never had a leak. :):

I feel a bit guilty reading about some of your fellas who are less than keen to change nappies ... on average, I woudl change less than 5 nappies per week :redface:
I'll always offer to prepare food, clean the highchair and floor, put on washing, whatever so that DH gets left to do the nappy ... and then if I finish whatever I've done and DH is still going, I'll go and put on the MSM or kiss DS's face or keep him entertained (and still!!) while the nappy change is completed, but I hate changing nappies.
And I'm basically never with DS without DH being there!

If the brand has a distributor in australia, you are supposed to buy through there, and not direct from any store in the states, its in the agreement that the resellers have with BG's. When I had the store, I had to get my stock from the australian distributor (a big store in north queensland) instead of going through BG's itself, unlike happy heiny, who I was able to buy direct from.:
You are supposed to buy directly from the distributor or their resellers, and if a store sells to you from overseas - they could get in trouble if found out.
That being said - I liked the BG's, I just hated stuffing pockets all the time. Much prefer to snap in a booster - easier to watch tv whilst doing it.. LOL

I'm not surprised you havent seen it, it's in the contract between reseller and distributor. The store isn't supposed to sell overseas if there is a seller there. So the store is bein norty!:
When we are both home, DH probably changes 1/3 of the nappies. I sometimes have to say 'can you change it', but if it is just him and DD there are as many dirty ones at the end of the day as when it is DD and i. When i am there, i think he defers to me for organising DD but if i am not there he is happy to do it all.
Yeah, every site I have seen has said they don't ship to any other country... Oh well! LOL.
I love my snap boosters so if MG are pockets I probably wouldn't like them.. not really a fan of pockets!

Kylz, I put both boosters in and DD is on the tightest setting at 6.9kgs. I put the wongs (extra snap bits) behind the booster so they don't get wet. They are pretty high rise which is good... I like them! The first time she wore them they leaked and they weren't on the tightest.

i recived a call from bbh, there packing my order and realised there out of the purple secconds i orderd so are replacing them with lilac/violot of the same from the full priced stock, and i get the waranty with them as there not secconds :o i was expecting a "would you like a refund" when he said were out of stock, not a straight swap for the other! its now on the way.
i just found the "other folder" in fb messages, and had a message from wild child, they found a size 3 hiding with old stock and if im interested theyll let me know a price! :happydance:
