Was looking at some new second hand BBH covers which were 6 for $40 but they are smalls and while bubs is only 4mths she is already 8kgs so just not sure it was worth it? how long was your bub in small covers for?
I just brought the most gorgeous hand knitted organic wool cover on sale in my town. $28. Apparently it only needs washing every couple of weeks as it is prepped with lanolin and air and sun deodorizes unless you get poo on it. So thats on Hazels butt with a orange bamboo BBH.
ETA nappy rash - does using cloth cause more nappy rash or is it more likely the washing powder? i am using Aware sensitive???
I only just got a machine that can do hot washing, which is why my naps got their first strip wash a couple of weeks ago. I have such an epic stash that I don't think it would be an issue anyway, it was more the novelty
CW - I have 70 nappies, because I am a nutcase addict. I'm not proud of it, but I just can't let any of them go.
Nelle - I am a big fan of the Bonnibuns. They didn't fit DD well until she was about 3 months old, but they did fit. Now, the fit is perfect, and they're really easy.
CL - yay for undies! Pixie is awesome!
WONB: Petite Peony.
Fluffy mail today - 2 x Petite Peonys from a swapsie on the fb page. I love the cattiness on there - I don't watch TV, so that substitutes for my daily soap opera.
doesn't bonnibuns make SIO??
hi ladies :)
i recently started washing my nappies every 2nd day but im noticing little mould spots appearing on my inserts??? what am i doing wrong?
whats the facebook page lol
im in sydney, is miserable cold days lol
would not having a lid on the bucket make a difference?
I'm not sure either! Sorry.
Helle bonnibuns are an AIO with an extra snap in booster. Or the rapid drys are a shell and trifold. (I think)
I think the full stops are people bumping up the photos.
Wowb- nakie!!! Bout to hit the tub!
I have had mould. Not sure what causes it, but a friend has also had it. It spreads, so kill it quick. Clove oil dabbed and left on for an hour will kill it, then wash before next use. Chuck a bit of vinegar in the rinse - it's not a great thing to do all the time, but vinegar is pretty weak and is far kinder to your nappies than mould is! Heaps of sunshine (as if, I know!) will help too.
Nellbell is wearing a Bonnibuns pocket right now. Old skool - she doesn't seem to do them anymore as a regular thing, but I bet she would as a custom. The others are AIO + snap in booster or shell + snap in trifold.
And... she christened that PP with a giant turd. So proud :D
It could be the washing powder but also what liner is in the nappies? Pixie reacts horribly to suede cloth and a few washing powders/liquids. If you can get to a health food shop listed on the moogoo site for moogoo msn cream it's awesome stuff. sometimes you have to play around with a setup of liners/fits until you find what works for your bub.
I think I'm a tad sad that Pixie wanted her nappy off straight after her nap again today. She said "nappy off", "unders please" lol. Her nappy wasn't even wet at all either. 5 minutes after she got her "unders" on she announced she needed to use the potty to poo. So proud but still sad she won't have a padded fluffy butt around the house. I think I might deep wash the abby gro inserts tonight and cross my fingers we get sun tomorrow. I think I have 25 odd inserts for only about 12 decent shells. I might have to try replacing elastic on a few.
WOCB: "unders"
Bern the other thing I could think of was that perhaps the bamboo isn't 100% dry and still a bit damp if the weather is so bad. If you're putting them in the drier tho im stumped.
I had one CT go mouldy and I used canisten rinse and I haven't had any issues with any others. You can get canestin from woolies in the laundry isle (they hide it along the bottom shelf here :))
will the canestan kill the mould?
Most likely it will. It's an anti-fungal rinse.
hi ladies, been prety quiet here. still on the cloth path, only now K has to pick her own nappies, yesterday it was her one and only in a pear tree (that finaly arrived earlier this week after 2 months :O) but she chose that one for the day, was a nightmare trying to get hert changed out of it! she is in a real "prety girly" stage at the moment, so if it isnt pink prety or ruffely well she barely wants to look at it..
i had a quick inventory check, and seems alot of my napies are in groups of 9... 9 tuttos, 9 dlish, 9 bbh bamboos, 9 sandmans, 9 multifits, and if there not in a group of 9 or in pairs, there the lonely one from that style/brand! and yes i have thought about using that as a excuse to buy more but im being a good girl and not going to!
wokb: sandman and fleece cover from esty.
woab: pink owl abbygro (was almost sold till mummy realised there multi-fit:doh:)
Hey girls what's a good trim night nappy that is preferably not snaps? DD is such an active baby that I need something I can get on quick before she rolls and kicks away from me.
Womb: BBH med night nappy/pink small BBH cover
Have you contemplated an AIO that requires a snappi Em? The Mandy Mac purple nights is snappiable although I can't help on the trim bit.
WOCB: One of the very few sposies left in the box. Going to try cloth again when they run out because she's been holding her bladder more overnight
