Multi fits/help suggestions wanted

We are using cloth atm, AIO multi fit nappy..I am not happy with them they leak so need an extra cover which they shoudnt

anywho
I do not think we can afford size nappies even though they would prob be great we just could not afford it atm, so have been thinking about getting some aio multi fits again but possibly in baby beehinds the Magic-Alls Multi Fits..

Does anyone have these ? or reccomend a certain nappy? Or do you think these would not work for full time use?
Any help suggestions or brand or if a sized nappy would be better pls let me know

I've got DS in the BBH Multi-Fits. They are great, very absorbent. We've never had a leak and he is a pretty heavy wetter. I like that they come with 2 bamboo inserts. The only issue I have with them is that they are very bulky nappies. DS is very petite so even at 16 months they still look huge on him lol. And they can be a pain to fit into clothes (usually have to put him in pants one size bigger). I've also got a few Green Kids one size. They are a trimmer fit but not as good at containing leaks in my experience and they don't have an adjustable rise like the BBH do. Happy Heinys and Bumgenius also make multi fits but both come with microfibre inserts which I'm not really a fan of. It ends up being too expensive to buy them and then fork out for extra bamboo inserts too.

What multi fits are you using? (and I'm guessing multi fits is just OSFM?)

Before we knew any better sigh we got some nappies AIO from ebay ( i know silly now) they are some brand i don't even know ,they looked great but leak all the time ..
Yeah multi i mean OSFM

I just do not know what to do, not sure if it would be worth buying sized nappies ,or going with the osfm

Perhaps a mixture? We use both multi fits and sized, that way you only ever have to replace half your stash. And if you keep them in good condition you could sell them off to buy new ones?

I haven't tried any AIO's as I heard they take ages to dry (which is a problem here in winter) and I like being able to swap inserts in and out as needed to customise the nappy more as it just makes sense that the absorbency needed at one month will be different then what is needed at one year. The main OSFM's that I have are Itti Bitti Tuttos (AI2) and Issy Bears (Pocket) and I love them both. They fit my 5 week old since 2.5 weeks without leaks (inc. newborn BF poo), yet he leaks with huggies disposables often. The Issy's being a pocket can be bulkier than the Tuttos but I don't mind the little bit of extra padding on the bum, it just means I put him in 00 instead of 000. Out of all the brands I've tried these are the ones I'll be buying more of when I'm allowed to buy more. I also like the BBH Bamboo fitted, but the two step process of nappy then cover is too much for my husband lol.

I'd go a mixed lot. OSFM are always good when babe decides to have a growth spurt overnight and not fit their sized naps in your stash. There are some fantastic OSFM naps on the market, best bet is to read reviews. If you have a certain nappy/brand in mind do a search of the napppy boards here, there is a tonne of info hiding in these boards Or just ask.

I love fitteds, but I have to agree with Mel on Ai2's being great. Shells usually dry really quick, and most boosters can be thrown in the dryer if you're in a pickle needing nappies dried fast.

On the subject of sized over OSFM, sometimes you won't get the fit right with a OSFM like you will with a sized nap.
