Im over cloth....

So here I am on to baby #3 in cloth & I just don't feel the love for it anymore. Mostly night nappies. Rohan still poo's several times over night & I just CBF trying to make what I have work for nights. He is long & big but not so big in the thighs. So I thought stuff it, I will do sposies over night & cloth during the day. So I bought a small paket of NB nappies & yuk lol. I will see how they go but I think I just gave my self incentive to make an effort to keep going with cloth.

Don't get me wrong, cloth is easy enough but at the end of the day sposies are easier lol

Oh hell yeah!! We generally use cloth, but we've used sposies for nearly 6 weeks straight. We only use a very cheap brand of sposies.
Must get back into using cloth, but its a bit of a drag. Once I've started it OK, but sposies are so easy.

I can relate - when I'm cleaning off my 3rd poopy nappy of the day I have the same thoughts Moo has always been in sposies at night. And every now and then I give myself the day off so Moo has a sposie day!

Hahaha FJ, i was looking at my box of NB nappies, thinking i should get them all out and wash them in preparation, but i just can't be arsed!! I KNOW it is better for baby, better for the environment, better for my hip pocket, BUT no matter what any clothies say it is more work. Not a lot more, but a bit more. I am struggling to be motivated and excited about them. Maybe because i don't need to buy any.

My last two were in cloth from birth, but i am feeling tempted to use those NB ones the hospital provide!

I need to find the love again..... if you find it, lemmie know.


ETA- i use sposie pullups on my other two at night for all the reasons you say. They look uncomfortable, are huge and stink in the morning.

Days its ok, Its just nights. It will be faster to change a sposie then a night nappy & Rohan kicks & fusses & cries, I feel bad that I seem to take to long & just wants to get back to sleep.

Totally agree but the savings keep me motivated to keep going! Although I would def go sposies overnight if DD pooed several times. We used sposies when she got a bout of nappies rash last month and OMG - so so so easy. Even going out is easy! The space the sposies take up is nothing compared to MCN's.

Yeah, I've always used sposies at night too. Tried cloth but it looked so uncomfortable!!

I completely get this.

We cloth bum during the day for awake time, but for DD's daytime nap and night time it's a huggies. They are slimmer and absorbent - a $33 box lasts me 2 months.

Cloth just looks so uncomfortable to sleep in - but during the day while she's running around, that big padded butt is just divine LOL

Yeah I just bought the "you love coles" ones. I use those over night for my 2 yr old who is day TT. But I don't see how they will hold up to NB poo lol

eta- cloth bum, yep its ok in the day but I feel sorry for Rohan some nights, he looks uncomfortable with so much on. He did the night n a sml Maz night naapy last night & it was horrid in the mornng, no poo (thats a first) but so wet. Thats when I thought, nup not doing cloth at night. It stinks, its sooooo so wet & really I just can't be stuffed trying find something that works.

I don't know anything much about cloth (looked into it all, love the idea and the look but put it in the 'too hard' basket) but I admire you guys for even doing it part time.

DD has been in Huggies since day dot. They have been fantastic, can't rave about them enough. I always buy our nappies by the box and pay roughly 30 cents a nappy. We paid less per nappy for the newborn ones as there were more in the box.

DD was so tiny and had such skinny legs when we brought her home that we bought some Huggies premmie nappies which worked a treat for the first few weeks until she fit in the NB sposies properly.

I'm a huge Huggies fan. Dad was a rep for them for 17 years so I've heard a lot about them over the years. Shame he changed jobs just as I fell pregnant but my sister did alright out of it though!

PS I've heard lots of good report about Aldi sposies so they could be worth looking at for cheap night nappies.

I think we should never be so har don ourselves, if we are struggling, just make it easier. And remember, a lot of mums use sposies 24/7, so really, night sposies are not so bad.

I know a lady who even uses baby wipes to mop up water spills on the tiles. WTH?

Oh don't knock baby wipes LOL< They are great for everything LOL.

eta - Kim, I have been thinking it for days & then while at coles earlier I thought stuff it & tossed some in the trolley lol. But yeah I have a good day time stash. But nights suck lol.

I had my blah moments with cloth and used a couple of packets of sposies when I needed to. Didn't take long for me to get over the cost and when you get to the bottom of the packet when you forget to buy them and have to make the choice whether to go out just to buy nappies or use the cloth again

But yeah nothing wrong with taking a break if you need to!

The amount of times prior to finding MCNs where I ran out of sposies was ridiculous. I buy one box of disposables every month and a bit just for night use. The amount of times I've ran out and forgotten even that is ridiculous too . I couldn't find a night nappy that Pixie didn't flood out of and I can't use full time disposables or she gets red burnt skin and rashy. Putting the one on her overnight I have to make sure I moogoo everywhere or she has a red nappy on after I take the sposie off. As for using cloth full-time, I'd find it easier because I don't have to remember buying sposies and DD throws a wobbly every night getting the plastic on her butt.

I went on holiday a couple of months ago and we used sposies while we were away. I was worried that if i started using them again i would want to stop using cloth but i hated them! Ds got a rash, they smelt weird and i felt horrible throwing them all in the bin... and he had nothing to keep his pants up ROFL

I use sposies at night and cloth during the day at home - of we go out I generally would put DS in sposies; and um, no sorry - I've only got med - large sized cloth nappies too .

haha FJ yes I admit baby wipes are amazing..
I use terry flats on DD and therefore use them for all cleaning, spills etc coz I like to have a decent sized wash load of all those nappies.
Whenever I see that lady use a bunch of expensive baby wipes for mopping up water I just cringe! I think i use one wipe every couple of days!!

There is a website that you can get bulk boxes of sposies, they have babyluv, huggies, snugglers and more. Not sure if I am allowed to post the website. A girlfriend of mine gets her nappies from there and says she saves heaps. Not sure though, have never looked to see the prices.
