MCN Brand you would NOT recommend

    Hi

I am just looking into cloth at the moment and i am hearing about brands of mcns people would recommend but are there any brands you wouldn't use? If so why?

I don't want to end up with duds!

    TIA

    OOOHHHH.. tough question....

There are a few that I wouldn't recommend - HOWEVER - I wouldn't recommend them for my kids - who have slim hips, no butts. They would work great on chubbier bubs - so its hard for me to say that they are CRAP nappies - cos they are only crap on my kids IYKWIM? I know that they work on other people's bubs - so it really comes down the shape of your bub.

I would probably stay away from any cheap ones off ebay though - you get what you pay for.

I will second the ebay nappies... i have bought several types and they are all useless... i reserve them for after bath during last feed of the night as they are only good for one wee/an hour

Besides eBay nappies that are made with 6 layers+ of flanelette, there is a brand that I would stay well clear of because of the unethical way the owner goes about her business (both with customers and other WAHM's). The nappies from this seller are just about worthless because nobody else wants to buy them either so if you're looking forward to getting some money back by selling them you can just about forget about that.
I won't post the name but I'll PM it to you.

to be honest..its all a matter of trial and error. what works for one bum may not work on another.

I had alot of trouble with IB's(sorry itti bitti's) with Vyolett yet they are the best thing since sliced bread for Mateauz

They are the one brand i have just bought a few of - i have had one on DS this morning and it worked fine so far. Only had to change him as he had pooped. If he hadn't i wouldn't have had to change him as the insert and nappy weren't full at all. No leaks either - so far.

Well the peapods are pockets - i don't mind pockets. Other than that i would probably go with AI2s - are they the same as snap in and pocket? I considered aio's but they seem to take forever to dry according to what i have read and they aren't as absorbent as insert ones - is that right?
Lol you didn't confuse me - although i was confused for a long time but i bamboozled my friend with every dumb question about 6 times until i got it

    thanks for the replies.

Swaddle bee's have a great pocket (they work fab for us) and there are also Bum G pockets too.

AIO's dont take that much to dry...well ok a day but hey doesnt bother me. I love a good honey boy and a bubblebubs...I LOVE itti bittis to death...so easy to use, compact, slim and funky colours.

thank god for great friends to pester..I did the same to raven when Istarted out

I don't like BBH hemp nappies but I loooove the bamboo ones. I find them hemp ones are too thin, scratchy and smelly.

Baby Greens. Same with the BBH hemp, they're scratchy and a strange fit.
