my nappy experience

when i had lachlan, i looked into cloth nappies but was a little silly about it and thought 'i do not want to play with poo twice, disposables are so much cuter'. when he was about 1, i finally bit the bullet and bought myself a few cushie tushies(from arimeh) to try and found i LOVED them, so i went a little bit more nuts and bought 5 more. Then, one night, i was just cruising around a forum and saw abby gro mentioned, it just so happened that i got on there and there was 1 nappy left so i bought it and haven't looked back. I LOVE my abby gros and now i have 5(only 5 ) and i bought 10 pea pods and 2 cheeky butts at the baby show.

I was using sposies at night as i had a couple of leaks overnight from a normal cushie with an extra insert, and a normal pea pod.

After meeting a few other cloth users a couple of weeks ago, i gave the abbygro nappy a go overnight. I happened to buy some cute fleece ones and i have a couple of extra abby inserts, so i put 2 inserts into 1 fleece nappy and had a try.

To my amazement, it lasted from 7pm until 10am the next day with not a leak in sight.... i was so excited, so i have tried it every night since then, and SUCCESS!!!! so i am proud to say i have not used a disposable nappy for about 2 weeks.

now im sad because my son is toilet training and i cant buy any more

i was very sad when my child toilet trained too - no more mcn for us!
(but she does have very funky cloth trainers for nights).

i'm amazed now, how quick 27 months (from her arrival to being trained) actually went. so glad we went with cloth nappies, and i totally heart the Little Squirt.

wish i had a good reason to use them again (like a sibling for bilby).

Awwww, I wanna try Abby Gro but I always miss stockings. My cousin SWEARS by them. I love Cushie Tushies too, they're definately my favourite

crazy lady, as much as i dont want to tell you this because it will be more competition for me when there is a stocking.... if you join up join up on the abby gro facebook fan page, she lets you know when she is doing a stocking.... but you have to be quick!!! last time, i got on as soon as the site opened back up and there was heaps of nappies and bought my 2 nappies, then my friend got on 10/15 minutes later and there was NOTHING! good luck though, they are so great i SWEAR by them!

manhattan, my DH bought our nappies to the hossy cos we hated the archaic terry flats with pins (ie we sucked at it) and so he has been in mcn since 20hours old.
I had to buy some disposables the other days for a holiday and didn't know what to buy!

manhatten you'll be fine hun - it really isn't too stressful. make sure you have some little ones with a cover and you'll find it easy. i worried i'd fall behind or find it all too hard - but it's really simple once you get going.

and going out with a purddy nappy is so rewarding - DD is in a gorgeous little summery dress, with a purple twinkle lily underneat that has "princess in training" embroidered across the bum! so cute (and got comments when daddy was carrying her and she flashed her fluffy butt

Thanks hun, u really do make it sound so easy! I'm ready to go with my NB stash (even bought some more MAL covers the other day....how did that happen??? ) now just waiting for my NB to arrive.

And I can just picture Miss E flashing her fluffy butt, a true princess in training!
