I have been using Itti Bitti now since DD was 3 months old. In order to get a couple of wears out of the the cover I have been folding a square piece of cotton material into a pad and lining the nappy. It suddenly occured to me that this is generally what a cover and prefold is!!!
My current issue with the Ittis is the low rise.DD is 10 months old and quite chubby in the belly so the ittis tend to dig in under her belly a bit.
My thoughts are to get some covers and just use the material I have been using. I may by some prefolds as well.
Will this do for an older bub? She is getting more active now and almost walking.
Its a great way to save a little $$$ Bekz...i ued it for Vyolett and have started doing it for Mateauz...really all it is, is a pocket with no liner IFYKWIM
I had no luck with peapods with Vy..they were horrible but I had 2 given to me for Mateauz and they work great on him....just proves every baby is different.
I will be looking for unisex colours (hoping for a blue bundle next time). Loren has chunky thighs and hips any suggestions which type/brand would be ok?
I have BP's like Kaz but othere then that I use my own. I dont as a rule use PUL. I use to use BBH covers on Vyolett when she was a baby andthey use to leave horrible welt marks on her thighs casue she was to chubby...havent had that with my covers (Maz saying that with a fat head)
Have a look on the ozclothnappies site for "frugal nappies" and they have a pile of stuff you can use, plus some patterns for turning old woolen jumpers into covers (bumjumpers) - there are a couple of ladies up here in the hills that do that and sell them for a pretty penny! A $2 jumper from the salvos will make a nappy cover
And the wool will keep the air circulating and when lanolised (just with some lanohsil) are brillo for nights etc ... and reduces nappy rash probability.
