Amber teething necklaces

yup! they work!!! another skeptic here!!
my dd hates bonjella (dont blame her) and each time she has it, scratches her tounge to get rid of the taste, that and my elder 2 are hooked on it, if they got there hands on it then it was gone in a hour and id find the empty tube. it is heaps better with the amber, i no longer get bitten trying to wrestle the bonjella it dosent get rid of all the teething probs, but there is a HUGE diffrence! have to get one for this bub soon to.

eta: i got mine from bambeado's ebay store even came with a matching braclet

I'm bumping this thread to ask about the different types of amber - anyone know why they sell different sorts? What is the best, or why would you choose one type over another? The store I am looking at sells 5 different types of amber!

Okay, according to the info I found when researching...

Lemon or yellow - said to give pain relief, anti inflammatory, helps relieve allergies, stomach ache, gastritis; increases the oxygen level in cells, delays the aging process and improves skin tone.

Cherry and red - said to give pain relief, anti inflammatory, detoxifies the body, improves overall physical well-being, improve breathing and circulation and improves heart function.

Orange and cognac - said to give pain relief, anti inflammatory, boosts the immune system, accelerates the healing of wounds, detoxifies the body, provides stress relief from aftershock, alleviates arthritis pain, relaxes the body, improves breathing and circulation

Green and black - said to give pain relief, anti inflammatory, improve kidney function, stop greying, stop hair loss, improve memory, improve sleep, improve skin, stop bone loss and the ringing of ears (Tinnitis), and boost the immune system.

I have only recently got ours,

DD has a Raw dark honey necklace and bracelet (we use it as an anklet) and I have a matching necklace. TBH I have not noticed MUCH of a difference but maybe it takes a while to work?? I do know my AF pain has been a lot less severe when I have mine on and I always wear my Amber pendant when I have had m/c to help ease the pain.

It won't do any harm, BUT there are cheap inferior products out there so make sure that your buying from a reputable seller.

Got ours from Ebay but they come with an Authentication number and the supplier will fix the necklace if it gets broken.

No they don't chew on it, just wear it ......... because amber is not a stone and is sap something in it gets absorbed into the skin through direct contact that helps with inflamation ........ just my basic understanding of it I am sure someon here with more of a clue will be able to enlighten further LOL

I did read somewhere that they work better when polished rather then raw because the Succinic Acid is better absorbed.

No, they just wear it. Baltik Amber is 10% pure Succinic Acid. Succinic acid is a fundamental building block enzyme in the krebs cycle, which is the complex series of chemical reactions in all cells that utilise oxygen as part of their respiration process. In other words, it allows the cells to be more efficient, from supporting the immune system to creating pain killing opiates.

It could be an issue if not careful. They're usually not long enough to get caught around anything though. They're meant to be individually knotted between each bead (and the beads are generally small, just a little bit bigger than a coco pop), and have a plastic clasp that breaks easily if put under strain. You're not meant to leave them on while they are sleeping/unsupervised, but most people wrap them around the ankle and then put a soak over it and put their babies down to sleep in sleeping bag where they can't get to it but still keep in on. TBH my DS has never noticed his - Never gone for it once.

It's normally something that you just leave on once you start using them, except for bath times etc. where they might get wet. I think they say you can use them from 3 months onwards. And they need "Recharging" every now and then, which basically is giving them a quick rinse with cold water and then rubbing them with a sunglasses cloth to get any build up of dead skin cells etc. off it that would get in the way of absorption. The Succinic acid in them wouldn't be finite either, so my guess is they would need to be replaced every 6-12 months if it is being worn for the health benefits rather than just fashion.
