She will get used to it.
Darcy used to take it by herself at the end.
Pop it down the side of her mouth along the cheek and it's quicker and with less taste.

Ds was the same, but he takes it now he is older. I think he seems to understand that it is helping him and he sucks it out of the dispenser.

I squirted it down the side of DD's cheek as kim suggested. We had to administer losec and it was a case of DP holding her while I squirted it in or we'd have to torture her longer than we had to. She got over it after about a week because I think she realised it was really helping her. I'd dread the time of night approaching though! It's not easy to hear them cry but it's really helping your DD. A mate's daughter ended up with stomach ulcers because the stupid Paed kept stuffing up her dosage HTH

It is hard, in time she will get better at it, DD2 is on Losec (which is like eating sand) which was a nightmare to adminster and TBH who would want to "drink" sandy water but I have been getting it as a compounded version which is flavoured like banana, Gaviscon which really doesn't have a taste and Coloxyl (for constipation) which tastes like chocoloate!

But I have found that using a Neurofen syringe works best for administering her meds, she now opens her mouth for it and sucks it all down

I use the nurofen dispensers too, they rock!! All three kids can suck the medication at their own pace.

Thanks ladies i tried mixing it with a touch boiled water and 2 drops of honey i mixed it all together and sucked the lot into a dropper which brought the total volume to 1.5mls which would only be .05 of the diluted honey and water as the zantac is 1ml and she sucked the dropper dry i hope its ok to do that but it is working she is getting the entire dose of zantac i will run it by the doctor on wed and see what he says.

Losec tastes foul too which DD was prescribed but the compounded version was quite yummy. Can you get Zantac it in a liquid form? It's generally a bit more expensive but it's so much easier to administer.

The Zantac is in a liquid form and is a peppermint flavour but it has a horrible medicine taste so i am going to try and mix it with a bit of her marina's infant mixture for colic and reflux that has a nice pleasant peppermint flavour so hopefully will dilute the yuk medicine taste of the zantac.

Zantac is feral!!! I just used to put a little in her mouth, wait for her to scream then squirt the rest down her throat.
Now she is on losec and only has 1ml but she hates the tutti fruity flavour. Unless its booby flavour i cant see her liking it!! Lol

Can you mix it with EBM?

Sent from my iPhone so sorry for the spelling and punctuation!!

Oh bugger. Well if you have no luck with it, Losec (the compound version) is definitely worth a shot.

I second the mixing with EBM!

I did that with Gaviscon for my DD and she gobbled it, but when mixed with water, she hated it! (not that i can blame her really!)
