DS is only 13 weeks adjust (almost 17 weeks actual) - could he be getting first tooth

As you may have seen from some of my recent posts, DS hasn't been himself of late. Today I noticed a slight very, very hard bump in his gum and it feels like a tooth - it is sharp and hard! It's on the bottom but not the middle two - it's one of the ones next to the middle two. It's really pointy. How do I know for sure? And does it mean anything that it's not the "normal" first tooth (middle bottom or top)?

His fist is constantly in his mouth, his cheeks are flushed and he's drooling like mad.

If he's teething, I'm sad - I feel like he is already growing up too quickly.

It sounds like he may be teething, usually you can see the white line where the tooth is coming through and yes it is hard.

When my first DD was born there was a baby in the hospital that was born with 3 teeth so I don't think that there is such a thing as to early!
