I was just checking out my baby's teeth this morning - she's 10 month old has 2 bottom teeth, and four top front teeth - but there is an extra tooth cutting through and it is just behind the top front two teeth! I've been googling and they are called 'supernumerary' teeth.
My mum and I both had teeth like these when our adult teeth came through, so I'm panicking that she is so young! Anyone know a very good paediatric dentist in Adelaide?????????
Wow, I've never heard of that happening before! Sorry I can't help you at all. Have you tried contacting your usual dentist to see if they can recommend a good paediatric dentist?
My brother had those. He looked like a shark (sorry). He got his very little too from memory and they didn't worry about them until he got his braces on in his early teens.
I used to work at the kids hospital with some fantastic kids dentists. I'm sure if you gave them a ring they'd be able to give you a few names.
it is hereditary and quiet common!! ususally they are left there to fall out on their own when the time comes, the only problem i can see happening is her biting her tongue, they are more common down the bottom than the top, because its up there i would get tit checked, kjeep in mind thopugh the only way it could be removed if needed at this age is under GA
