Okay, so this is probably going to seem really dumb but anyway...
About a month ago (maybe closer to 3 weeks), my DD got her first two teeth (bottom, front ones). Today, she has started acting similar to what happened during this time and I *think* I can see another white thing emerging (although, as those who know her know, she has a MASSIVE tongue so it is always a struggle to see in there).
What I am wondering is if it is possible she could be getting more teeth already? She is only 5 months and when the first teeth came through, the doctor said that we most likely won't see more for quite sometime... but did anybody else have a bub who got lots of teeth and early?
Also, how did you clean bubs teeth when they were this little?
where are these spots you can see?? the next teeth that generally come through next are the top two followed by two bottom ones either side of the first bottom ones. but having said that all kids are different and teeth come through where ever and whenever the want!
as for cleaning my DD who has no teeth yet chews on a baby toothbrush everynight int he bath and has done for a few months now! we also brush her gums so she gets used to it
Thanks for the response! The white I *think* I can see is the top, right but I haven't had the best look. I just noticed it yesterday and then when she started acting similar to before today, thought it could be that. I had heard from my Mum that the top ones don't come in until after the bottom four which is why I was a bit confused. Who ever really knows what is going on?!!
DD usually has showers with either me or her Dad so we will try to get a toothbrush happening in there and make it "fun".
When it comes to teeth there is no timetable. There can be large breaks in between or they can come soon after the last lot. My son got his first at 6 months & had 11 by 12 months.
Pigeon have a great toothbrush set. It's available at baby shops like Baby Bunting. It has 3 stages of toothbrush with the last one having bristles.
Yep, DD's came through about every 2-3 weeks.. Thankfully the single teeth weren't too much of a hassle here..
I just used a facecloth in the bath, or a rubber thimble on my finger to gently massage them in the bath. When she started biting too hard, I then went to the toothbrush with rubber bristles.. (the one that Satya suggested can be bought in most stores up here, Big W, Target, and chemists)...
DS1 got his first ones and 5 months, then the 4 top ones came through by 6 months. Then he didn't get more till about 8 months when I think he got another 8 in a matter of weeks. A friend of mine's daughter had nearly all her teeth by the time she was 6 months. Everyone is different.
They don't always come through in the right order either... DS didn't get the top front ones first, he got the ones next to them. He had a gap at the front like he had knocked his teeth out luckily only for a couple of weeks though.
